 heliona. Good on ya, getting that three hours in. :D Are you back again at work tonight? If I have my days correct, you should be on about now.

Vanadarlin' see you when you get in and you are toot sweet yourself. :D

Iris, maybe, the people who go to your church trust that whomever is elected will do a good job. Stay safe out there driving in that muck.

CR, sorry I will not get to see you today, but write as soon as you get home, so that we know you made it in and out okay.

Rose, how about you? Any more white stuff or finally this event ended? And did the temps indeed drop low?

*trundles off to buy a can opener*

>-O I tried to open a can this weekend and the thing just spun and spun and spun, so I threw it away and last night realized that, OOPS, no can opener. However, I know JUST what I want and will get it today.

pssssst, I really didn't do that, but heard it this morning on my way in to work. Jeff Foxworthy, is that his name? and two others are going to be doing a show close to Portland and they were giving away tickets on the radio station I listen to. People had to call in and say their best "you might be a redneck....." line.

Heck no woman. I'm English, ain't no rednecks in these parts. We have chavs instead.

You might be a chav if...
More than one of your children is called Wayne.
Your kids are going hungry tonight because you had to have that packet of cigarettes.
Your house doesn't have curtains, but your car does.
Your bike has an ash tray.
You had to sell more than one of your children to get tickets for Ibiza.
You consider David Beckham as a role model.
You wear a football shirt more than three times a week when not at a football match.
You actually stayed when the local dance club had an MC on.
You consider a pot noodle as an appropriate evening meal.
You have ever been in prison for "drunken disorderly behaviour" more than once.
You own more than one Burberry check cap.
You have ever bought a fake gold necklace from the Argos catalogue.
You have married three times and still have the same in-laws.
Your house has wheels.
The wheels on your house have rims.
You own more than 20 pairs of trainers.
You say "like" or "Bruv" as appropriate sentence fillers.
You consider P Diddy as a hip-hop icon.
You develop the habit of constantly itching your nether regions.
You can't take jokes about the council estate you grew up in.
You don't consider England to be a bad country in any way.
Your life's ambition is to win the lottery.
You talk with a Manchester accent and/or you like 50 Cent.
Your least favorite music genre is "Dat frickin greebo pickle jars".
You refer to food as "scran".
Your car has a name.
You talk with a Manchester accent and you haven't heard of The Stone Roses.
Your first (and quite possibly last) car was a Ford Fiesta.
You Call Yourself Outsider, play N00bcrons _and_ think you got skillz

'Tis an English phenomenon my Lady. Why a knight cannot in these dark times park his trusty steed outside the cheesemongers without returning to find that the Chavs have nicked the horseshoes.

I'm used to neds. The Scottish version of chavs. :D

Ah now I didn't know there was a Scottish version of the Greater Spotty Chav.

Do these "Neds" of which you speak have any unique characteristics or are they merely common chavs with a tendency to say things like "See you Jimmy" and "Can yer Mammy sew? Stitch that"

Well, there seem to be more of them than there are chavs around!

They normally wear white branded tracksuits, with their trousers tucked into their long socks. Oh, and they wear white trainers. That's the lads. The girls don't wear much at all, but generally have blonde, scraped back, greasy hair, and quite often can be seen pushing a baby in a pram around. They all speak in a nasally accent which I can't imitate at all, but Inzilbeth does a fabulous impression of one.

Here's a brief description thanks to Wikipedia. :D

(Also, I've never heard any of them say "See you Jimmy" or "Can yer Mammy sew? Stitch that!")

Well obviously not. I was indulging in outdated regional stereotypes in order to perpetrate a mildly amusing post.

For this dreadful crime I should be sentenced to a 12 week "Ethnicity and Diversity" re-education programme run by one-legged chickens of colour.

Hah! part of my NHS Trust's MANDATORY training is in Diversity. It is almost, though not quite as utterly enthralling as the "Waste Management" mandatory training.

Bet you never knew that yellow clinical waste bags cost THREE times as much to incinerate than boring old black domestic waste bags did you? And did you know that there is a PROPER way to close waste bags? Oooh fascinating stuff. I could go on for seconds :P

So far I've managed to avoid any kind of Diversity training. It's a bit of joke in our agency, to be honest.

How fascinating about the plastic bags. ;)
