Yep, it sure is, Rwhen. And all right, maybe I do have a little PCE. But just a little.

My friend invited me to a Hanukkah party tonight. Totally forgot. I'll play it casual when I see him tomorrow. I always seem to forget stuff like that.

A week and half left in the semester, and I might have a single room in an apartment next semester

I'd apologize straight up, Lewie. You forgot, it happens, an honest apology goes a long way. :)

Sounds like it would have been fun, though. :D

Well, I just got the official call on sining on the 20th...so now I guess I have to do it, huh?

 Eari.

I suppose it depends on how the singing sounds, huh?

:roflmbo: You got that right, Iris! Some singing sound more like sinning. Reminds me of another Murphism:

The Back-Seat Singer Law

Behind every good songleader is a pastor singing the wrong verse.

Corollary:
And singing it loud.

Corollary:
And an accompanist playing too slow.

Or playing too fast!

Or...you have an organist and a pianist and they're playing at different tempos.

 CR! These laws are great!

Our choir concert is this Sunday, and dress rehearsal is Thursday evening. I don't think we're really prepared, but maybe I'll be surprised come Thursday. :P No solos for me, but I do have one with the hand bell choir at my church back home that I'll be singing at Midnight Mass; I guess I should start relearning it, huh? (It's a really easy one that I sang last year as well--one of these years I'm going to convince them to let me sing Ave Maria!)

Very glad to hear that the concert went so well, Eari! Congrats on getting a standing ovation!! And I completely agree with you on singing--it is such a wonderful way to express yourself and reach people. I often wish I could write my own songs because I think it'd be so neat to get my thoughts out musically. Alas, my background in music theory and basic chord structures is nil.

Well, I survived my German exam! I think. Should know the results within a few days... I'd cross my fingers, bjut it'd hswrd to tgyped thst way!

For Erinhue and anyone else who is curious. They just announced that the WCA's will be next year. They are going to do them bi-annually so it will be next year sometime.

Here is Luthy's post about it:
In consideration of the relative slowness of the Boards, the White Council Awards have been moved to a bi-annual schedule.

We anticipate that this may change when the release of the Hobbit Movie draws nearer and board activity increases.

The next WCA's will be held in 2010.

I hope that helps with the inquiring minds we have around here. Yes I was wondering myself. :P :D

I would love to be in a TORC choir. I love singing but have not had the chance since I left my church back in 02' when I got my divorce. The few times I have been to visit a church somewhere I have so enjoyed singing the songs that I knew so well.

Drieske posted:
Perhaps we should assemble a TORC-choir and sing virtual songs? Big Grin Is 'assemble' the right word here? Makes me think of The Borg *grins*

Yes we should assemble a TORC Ensemble to sing songs that bring joy to our hearts!!!! I bet the choir would be huge too!! ;)

Yeah we might just have to have a super moot sometime and everyone learn a specific song to join in on. We can learn our parts and then practice together a little while to smooth out the speed and the key.

Have watched some of the YouTube movies Eari and it looks really truly amazing. The singing is professional, costumes, performing ow :D Congrats!!!! A standing ovation? You must have been soaring above the stage. And simply take one step at a time. The concert is now over, enjoy the feeling it brought to you. Be happy you got some very important things out into the open and look forward to France

I rarely have weird dreams, but I rarely, actually almost NEVER, nap.

I just can't do it. I will try, I close my eyes and cover up, but just about that time that I would be falling, falling, falling....SNAP eyes wide open again.

Just can't do it.

Hello PCEqueen :D *hugs Rwhen* I really enjoyed talking last night!
Was posting while I should have been driving to work, but who cares, dealing with PCE is important too :P

Deal my dear, we will sing together in the TORC choir, side by side, together with the others :grouphug:

Came home to find Sean feeling sick, nauseated. I hope he feels better soon, he's such a silent one. Want him to feel good.
One of my co-workers (the sweetest and kindest one) had applied for the job of senior management-assistant and today had the interview. Within half an hour she was called back in: she's got the job. I'm soooo very happy for Sandra :D She will still stay with our academy but not in my team. If anyone deserves this, it's her. But I'll miss her steady no-nonsense presence.

Poor Vana, my thoughts are with you and I do hope you'll have lots of breath soon

*wraps Rwhen in blankets so only her head sticks out and she can't move anymore*

correction

*... her head and one arm to type stick out...*

;)

And dear, perhaps you should lie down when you try to nap. It tends to work better 'cause you won't have the 'falling'-feeling =:)

Iris, one has to tell her everything, really

Hey Drieske lady!! :D:D:D

Sorry to read about Sean, hope it is nothing serious and just a little winter cold. Are you home cooking now or getting ready to cook or still at work? Thanks for the tip about laying down to sleep, I don't know why I never tried that before.

I am starting to warm up, Brother Jim put a space heater under my desk. :D

Very happy for your friend Sandra, but doesn't that leave you short a co-worker now? And weren't you NEEDING a new co-worker anyway? *scratches head*

Hiya Rowan!! :D How are the practices going? Are you getting any stage worries? I know that you will do just fine!! Break a leg!!

:D

There's a stomach flu roaming around the area Rwhen, let's hope he's strong enough to fight the bugs off. On the other hand, it's better than having to deal with the other, much nastier flu.

I just put little pieces of potato in the oven with olive oil, rosemary and garlic. Will fry salmon to go with it, hot-dog sausages (we call them "knakworstjes") and green peas.

And yes, we needed a new co-worker, and now Sandra leaves on top of that. But I stimulated her to apply for the job, it's much better for her and she's studying in that field of work. Perfect for Sandra  She'll start January 1st.

Indeed Rowan, we will be there and lift you up should something happen, nothing to it. Good luck and use the nervousness to perform even better

I ate too much for lunch...that's the real reason. And I'm sick from it. I know better, but it was so good...

Drieske, so now you will be TWO people down. :( Don't work yourself into an exhaustion. When do you let out for the holiday?

Hope that Sean doesn't have anything worse my dear. That would suck being sick over the Christmas holiday.

Your supper sounds delish, especially the roasted potatoes. YUMMY. :D

You bet that I'm beginning to develop a stage fright. :P Especially after yesterday's rehearsals, I was really crappy. OK, I partly blame it on the lousy floor of the studio (which actually isn't even a proper studio, but one of the free training areas at a sports arena). At the actual show, I just have to remember not to think, just go with the music.
