It's 9:11 pm MST and I'm thoroughly movied-out . . .

I just don't understand how hubby can sit and watch two movies in a row and then want to watch a third . . . gaaah.

But we will apparently have all afternoon tomorrow. Seems his workplace has screwed up AGAIN . . . he may not go to work until Wednesday!! Which would be fine if they were paying him to sit on his arse at home . . .

But they're not.

Sorry you had such a horrific day CR. Hopefully tomorrow, if you have to work, folks will have shopped themselves out and it will be relatively quiet.

16:59 EET. The younger kid came home today. I should go and pack for a two-day business trip from tomorrow to Tuesday.

Hope today will be easier, CR. Sorry you had such a stressful day yesterday.

The quote has not left my head yet!!

Scribbles, my dad has the same problem...It's better this year, but last year he was working ridiculous hours and with rock-bottom pay. I mean, he gets his masters degree, shows his boss how to save a million $ a year, and they say, "Oh, that's nice, now go back to work and by the way, I hope you don't mind that we're docking your pay...again." :x Fools! Poor Daddy.

And Rose, I am a true Tolkien geek. I have the movies practically memorized, and quotes often randomly traipse around in my head. Anything can bring them on. I've even started teaching my friend some of my limited command of Elvish...just easy stuff. Like, you know, "Mae govannen, mellon nin." Translation: Well met, my friend. And, of course, writing it out in the Tengwar. :D

I finished drawing my second Legsie pic last night...He's way easier to draw than Aragorn. He's sooo hot.

Traipsing off to find a Legolas swooning thread in Fandom at 2:55 pm.

It is 3:44pm PST and Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!!

WE went to the movies and enjoyed it immensely! Then we bought some mini Churros at Jack in the box and then walked to Fred Meyers to get some laundry soap. I have enjoyed my day with my beloved.

It is raining again here. Has for the last few days but still it is mild temps and the trees are all blooming out. The mock cherries are all in bloom and they are beautiful!

Some Valentine's Day. Some birthday yesterday too. Spent it all cleaning house. We were really blessed this past week with 9 different helpers; we stuffed 2 storage bins at the local self-store, and there's still more here, but it just has to stay in nice boxes around the spare room and the edge of the living room. I haven't seen the kitchen or the living room or the spare room this empty since halfway through moving in, over 11 years ago! Now we just have to finish the dining room and the bedroom... It's 8:53 PM EST and we can't go to bed yet! And I have to go to work tomorrow; I took nearly the whole week off. I went in Monday and asked for Tuesday and Wednesday off (I had already scheduled Friday off), then Wednesday afternoon I saw all that still needed doing and thought about my over-a-week-long cough, and called in to stay out on Thursday as well. So I really have to show up tomorrow.

And tomorrow's the inspection. Please please please keep up the prayers, everyone! We really want to stay in this apartment for however many years it takes us to be able to afford what we really want (well, what I really want is an apartment this size in this neighborhood in better shape!).

Hubby made me toast with PB&J and a cup of ordinary tea (well, Newman's) to take to work this morning and he drove me in. We loaded 6 more bags of trash out this morning. We finished the last two rooms (well, "finished" is relative) in time for me to go to work this morning; we took a big nap break in the middle of the night and were at it again at 3:30. I haven't called home. I don't want to know anything till I get home this evening. I'm trying to control my cough; so far it hasn't been too bad (at least no worse than the week before I stayed home). Keep those fingers, toes, & eyes crossed!

I love you all.

Update

Postby Morwenna » Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:33 pm

Soon after I posted this morning, hubby called to say that they had been there, and sounded encouraging somewhat, or, as he put it, they didn't say anything negative. Small smiles, mild encouragement, etc. But so far so good; still, I wouldn't rest on my laurels just yet. Hubby says we ought to know for sure in a couple days. I would have posted at lunchtime but I dozed off after I ate and was already late getting back to my desk.

I reminded hubby that we'll still go on tossing stuff and rearranging stuff (man, I wonder if I'll ever find anything I want again), but he said can't we just sleep for a couple days first? :)

It's 4:30 pm MST on a beeeyooootiful, +4C Holiday Monday afternoon . .

morwenna, I think hubby's idea (at least for one night of good, solid sleep) is a just reward for all your hard work. ;) You can always resume at a slower pace after you've both taken some well-deserved rest. I'll keep everything but my eyes crossed that you get a favourable response in a couple of days. :)

Okay, off to bother the muse for a bit . . . ;)

Hey all! :hihi:

Morwenna, how are the niiiicccceeee boxxxxesssss coming along? I hate it when sometimes we get that type of thing going at our house. Hoping for a good report.

CR and rhwen, don't work too hard...working hard is the pits. (Unless it's got to do with, say, Elvish. I impose such things upon my self such as death by poring through Silmarillion appenices of Elvish naem elements in the hope of getting some more nuances of the language. Siiiggghhh...) Had to stay late at school today to get some stuff done on my outline for the Tolkien project. Both the outline and the source citations are due tomorrow. That's just fine for those people who have their outlines partially done, but I only went into Language Arts one time last week, and I was coughing too hard and my notes were too disorganized and incomplete to get anything done. So pretty much that entire section was done today. I am officially pooped. :bookworm:  :|

I'm coughing again. So very fun. I can't take any more medicine for several hours yet--at least, not anything that my doctor perscribed for me. I went this morning and got out of math class, woot! :happydance: So I'll go try some OTC stuff to keep it down.

In other news, I'm reading The Hunger Games. It's really good.

Deciding that it's probably wise to do my math at 6:53 pm.

Elfwraith, it's a bit old-fashioned, but warm steam is a good remedy for loosening phlegm and getting rid of a persistent cough . . . either take a nice long shower, or even better, a niiiice long hot bath with the shower curtain closed. :D Of course, if your doctor determines that it's a chronic dry cough and not chest congestion, then it probably won't matter . . . I hope you get rid of it soon.

It's been a good day here . . . think it's about time I should look into what to have for dinner though, LOL.

A mild bronchial cough can take 4 - 6 weeks to go away. I've had my share of those, so try to get as much rest as you can, it helps. ;)
