Okay CR. See you tomorrow then. Hope today doesn't bring out the crazies, maybe everyone will stay home and watch the Olympics. ;)

Hiya Vanadarlin'. 143 my SSOTH. Hope your day is easy as well and see YOU here tomorrow too. :D

Scribbles, I am SO happy that you had a lovely day for the holiday, that does make it more special, doesn't it. Rather than slogging about in nasty cold weather when you have to do chores. Back to it today, but it is a short week, we can do that on our heads.

Elfwraith, feel better. Hope the cough improves and yes, DO that math homework please. Don't let your grades suffer because of TORC. I have seen it happen.

I'm going to the doctor in less than an hour, because I'm sick & tired of coughing, and now my sinuses are full. This has been going on for 2 weeks, in spite of all the household work we had to do. And I'm gonna take that advice about a hot soak myself. :)

And the SF con that we had to miss this past weekend (on my birthday, yet) was one I did NOT want to miss, because one of the special guests was Tom Shippey, the current pre-eminent Tolkien scholar!!! How often does he make it to the US, never mind the Northeast???

We fell asleep during the Westminster Kennel Club show last night, as hubby was sure we would, so he taped it. Tonight's the second half. We'll watch as much of yesterday's tape we can before the show comes on tonight. And he'll tape that one too, because I'm sure the same thing will happen again.

I can't taste anything today; couldn't last night either (when the tuna salad contains onion, peppers, celery, and spices, and all you can taste is the tuna, sort of...).

10:45 AM EST. ZzzzzSnore...

Hey Morwenna, I watched the WKC last night. The first half. Very exciting. I have been a huge fan of the WKC for YEARS now and try to never miss it right after Valentines. :D In the herding group the one I wanted REALLY badly didn't make into the top four. (that is all I am saying because you haven't seen it yet), but the rest were really good picks I think.

We will see who takes it all tonight!! Hope you get some relief and some sleep.

morwenna, I sure hope your doctor can help you out! Although your sinuses could be just reacting to all the sorting/moving/packing you've been doing, even a little dust over a prolonged period can irritate some folks' sinuses more than others. Hope you feel better soon. :)

Ah yes, a short week. But made up of days that will be, each one, a real bear.

Sooooo, speaking of which, it's 9:55 am MST and time to get back at it.

Later!

The day is traveling pretty slowly. I got the techs out in the field and the family out of the house and on to the restaurant.

Now I am working on some quotations.

Scribbles. Sorry to read of your heavy work load. Sometimes it DOES make the time go faster though, even if it gives you a massive headache, backache and pain in your posterior. ;)

Let us know how it is going for you.

There are days when retirement looks better and better . . . LOL.

At least the sun is shining and it's nice out. :)

rowanberry, I agree with rwhen. A nice relaxing sauna and a quiet evening would probably go down real nice for you. :)

Doctor said I have some kind of virus, gave me prescriptions for Prednisone and codeine cough syrup, and told me to go home and get some rest, and maybe stay home tomorrow. Suits me just fine.

Still haven't got my taster back; had some of that tuna spread and couldn't taste a thing. So I had a cup of Yogi Breathe Deep tea, in order to get the benefit without tasting the licorice which I just plain don't like. I should be in bed but I figured I'd catch up a bit on the computer (which I didn't touch last night) and when hubby's finished starting tonight's pasta sauce, we'll sit down to the tape of last night's Westminster show. Yes, we've been watching it every year for about two decades, I think. I did see who won all the groups so far, but I didn't see a lot of what went into them.

Morwenna, I wanted the wire haired miniature doxie in the hound group to win, but the doxies never seem to win, it is such a strong group, same with the Corgi's which I also love. But that wire haired doxie last night was PRECIOUSSSSSS!!!! :D I also really liked the looks of the PBGV. Very handsome and the Whippet was lovely, I just favored other doggies last night. Also in the herding group, the Puli? Really? *shrugs* Guess that is why I am not a judge.

Hope you feel better.

Scribbles, you have two hours before the next build is due. Glad you got some sun!!! Retirement ALWAYS looks good to me, but dang if I know when it will happen.

Poor Morwenna, sick like me...though yours is way worse than mine.

Welcome back, Rowan! After a trip, the only thing to do is nap. So sweet dreams!

4-6 WEEKS?! Ah well. Not so bad as strep, which is determined to ravage the heck out of our school.

On to reading Airman, by Eoin Colfer. Same guy who wrote Artemis Fowl, which is a really good series. I have high hopes for Airman. It looketh fascinating.

Fascinating can be a very fun word to say, if you say it right. Like FAS-kinating. The c has to be hard. A common trait with Tolkien! He did that.

Hmmm...I have to go check out the library. Not only to snag the sequel to the Hunger Games but to see if the geeky animated version of LOTR that goes only to the end of the Battle of Helm's Deep is Bakshi. They pronounce Celeborn's name wrong, by the way. Like Seleborn. Which doesn't even sound as good as Keleborn, the way it's supposed to be pronounced.

[/rant]

My math grade is a 95, Rhwen, so I'm not worrying. I do get all my homework done, just not first thing. Not unless I bug the Homework Club at school. But today I was feeling really tired and I wanted to TORC. Though the sight of my former 6th grade teacher dressed up as Thing 2 complete with a massive poofy blue wig was amusing. He apparently decided to forgo the blue hairspray that Things 1, 3, and 4 (the other 6th grade core teacher and the 2 6th grade paras) used.
Today was Twin Day at Winter Carnival. It was Crazy Hair Day yesterday. I wish I'd seen what Mr. McV looked like then! :D

It is 9:19pm PST. That sounds like it really sucks CR!! I had a lady come in today at work who had bought a $30 or more light bulb for her reptile tank and she dropped it and broke it before she could even get it totally out of the box. She wanted me to replace it for free. I didn't feel like arguing with her or fighting her so I just did it. I told her though that it would not happen again.

Dropping microwaves? Sheesh. Vana, those are always sticky situations, whether to replace them or not. It happened to me once where I dropped it the first time, and when the clerk was giving me my replacement, she dropped it. So overall... :D

and *running, flying hug* Good to see you!!!!

School has been keeping me busy yes, but I have 2 weeks off for the Olympics, and I was just itching to get back on here with you! :D

23:33, came home from swordfighting class. At the end, during Open Floor time, my friend and I put on boxing gloves and beat the stuffing out of each other. :D

7:45 am

Good morning - afternoon - evening to everyone on this Wednesday.

Foggy and cool this morning, but it is promising to be a great day once the fog burns off. Clear blue skies and temps in the mid 60's. I am so happy that I am by windows to be able to SEE it, even if I can't get out in it.

Calma, I thought the Scotty was a lovely dog to take BIS, but it must be so hard to judge. I NEVER ever get it right on the WKC show. NEVER. I always go for MY sentimental favorite and of course they never win, even though to me they are beautiful. And the goldens are always lovely. Fluffy and large as they should be. All over for this year. But I still say some of the picks were like..WHAT?!?!?!?! The Puli and the Dobby for example. Sorry, I didn't see it at all.

Also a great night for watching the Olympics. I fell asleep early, but they run it all again at 2am, so I got the highlights of what I missed. I won't say anything in case people are taping/TIVO to watch later, but really good short program for the men's figure skating. The American is right behind Plushenko. *sigh*

HEY Vanadarlin' and CR!! You are both off today. Hopefully some posts won't be far behind. :D 143!!

As for me, it's 18:12 EET, and as soon as the hubby steps into the house, I'm off to dance class.
