Rwhen, where are you? I always look forward to seeing you here when I'm off. It's awfully quiet here. And I hope you and Eari liked my post in TEP. Just finished The Wandering Fire, and ready to start The Darkest Road, the last of the Fionavar Tapestry. It just gets better and better as I go along.

Hi all!

Just got called by the estimable Severus Snape for osgiliating in Manwe. I really must learn to stop going off at a tangent.

So, do mice learn not to approach mousetraps? ;)

Tee hee.. *Rosie loves to see people using the word 'Osgilliating' in a sentence.*

No. Mice never do learn to stay away from mousetraps, especially when they are baited with politics. Oh.. I mean.. cheese. ;)

Or peanut butter. That's even more irresistable to mice.

These are super-mice!

I noticed, after trapping a few (and submerging my ex-vegan guilt after one ran over my arm while I was watching TV...) I noticed a marked fall in casualties. Thinking I had rid myself of the problem, I left traps and carried on as normal.

It was when I noticed the cheese bait (I know; no imagination!) chewed into a conical shape that I( realised the mice were leaning over the trap plate, and eating that part of the bait that they could reach without springing the trap!

So I double trapped. It worked. In trying to reach the bait in one trap, they set off the other.

For a good while, no sign of mice. But they're back. And smarter. Cheese, chocolate, peanut butter, bacon rind; they're ignoring the lot.

What to do! :?

No poison. I don't do chemicals...

Have you looked at getting a humane mouse trap? They sell them through Amazon US, so you could check Amazon UK out. We have used them out here in the country and they do work.

You have some very smart mice there, Entmooting. :D

:roflmbo: OH Minty that is funny!!! I am just glad I don't have that problem here. We did have a rat that came in about a year ago or so but we got him out very fast and figured out how he came in and stopped that problem quickly. I hate rats and mice but I have to handle them daily at work. I think they stink and are gross. :P

I want to make this one thing very clear....... I DO NOT HAVE PCE!!!! Nope not me! I just had to post this one here because of the phenomenal number I have right now.

I love to have numbers that are the same forward or backward. So this is my 27272nd post and had to share it where you all knew I was stable and balanced and not suffering from any kind of posting trauma or challenge.

No I did not say I was challenged! :nono: But I do know that some are of another opinion and they are welcome to it. But I am not obsessed with posting or my post count. Nope not me!!! :P

Isn't it purdddy??? Why do those men in white coats look like they are walking this way? Hey wait!!! I am fine I have no problems and I am not a nut case!!!

Help!!!! They are coming to take me away!!! :roflmbo:

Okay, I posted this elsewhere, but I'm asking here too...anyone have any advice on writing cover letters and resumes? I'm submitting to Penn State and it's been over 6 years since I wrote either.

And it means that you're only 300-something behind Luthy.

Let's see which one of you will get a triple ring first...

:D

And, pet mice and rats are quite cute. Their wild cousins maybe not so much, but they're definitely clever animals.

Personally there is no running. I expect it will happen when it does for either one of us. We are beyond the running for gold or a competition of any sort.

I just come and post to my friends when I can as does Luthy. I was just trying to be funny but I do not mind being second in others minds.

I have never been after anything since the first one. I am amazed when I find that I have met some count level that receives some small reward. I am just here cause it is home and where my friends are.

Hey Luthy dear!! How is life treating you?? How are the wedding plans coming along??

I'm doing all right, Vana. The wedding plans are mostly all taken care of ()... I have to find a musician for the ceremony and a couple of other things, but mostly right now I'm just busy because of school and work.

Iris-- I've never written a cover letter, unfortunately, so I can't help you there. Resumes.. well, don't lie. :P When I went to write my resume I did some Googling, looked at templates, and then just kind of made my own based on the elements that I liked from the templates. Play up your strengths, obviously; emphasize the kinds of skills that you know they're going to want, etc..

Yeah, sorry. I feel like all the general resume advice--keep it as concise as possible, don't centre-align everything or go completely wild with formatting--is pretty obvious. I'd be happy to look it over for you if you want, though!

So, I just realized it's April Fool's day. I am now very much on my guard... *shifty eyes*

Hello PCE heads!! Missed you all.

Iris, they only advice that I would give besides what you have already got, if you haven't already sent it in, is to say something personal about yourself. Resume's get awfully boring following the standard templates. Try to say something right off the bat, first few lines of your cover letter that would be professional, yet unexpected.

Oh and don't forget to ask for the interview, very important.

Other than that, everyone have a wonderful day.

Woofty, it is getting closer and closer. :D I remember when you were first talking about your wedding and now it is 4 months away. Geesh. Time, eh? Still, we won't let you leave us here, you MUST rock the boards. ;)

Rose, I hope that you do go past the ring level with your current moniker. I think a ring would look lovely in your avatar. But of course, we will respect whatever decision you make. :)

Howdy Sil. No April Fools jokes from me.
