The bike ride went good, nl.
Except for trying to pedal into a decent headwind for the last 5 miles.

:P

:D

So after having a long weekend I got lots of work to do today...at work.

:x

It will soon be 5 oclock here.

The weather has turned lovely and warm and is forecast to get downright hot this week. Not as hot as that resort though, Tooks. ;) But it still means . . . uber-sweaty cast. Gaaahhhhh . . .

Sooo, never mind being 5 o'clock, is it Thursday yet? =:)

Have an easy Mondy y'all. 8)

Is it Friday yet?

Well, at least, I've survived another Monday.

I'm afraid that this week is going to be quite a dog of the female persuasion...

But, on the positive side, the weather is great. Sunny and almost too hot! 8)

The islands name means Octopus head. Well, it's a pretty octopus head. :)

So, I've had to call the State people today for information on some projects of mine, and the environmental agency is going crazy. It's just insane here in New York State. The leaders of our fine state are incompetent at best, and the budget is very late, and they are shutting everything down. Since most of my work is for state projects, and since they won't pay their contractors anymore until a budget is passed, I may not have work real soon. Blech.

My company has been hired by BP to help with the oil spill.....and they have sent out a blanket request for tons of people to give 3 months minimum to work down south. Maybe I should take them up on it? (I would actually, if I didn't have kids to assist) At least it would be work, right?

Hope your week goes better Rowanberry!

Wow, Wenchie! You could be fixing that stoopfid leaking pipeline! But that's a long time to be away.

Rowanberry, sorry you are going to have a not so nice week.

Calma, hope your friend is feeling better now.

Tooks, you're so slight, the wind might have blown you back up hills!

Wenchie, sounds like a stressful time to be sure. i'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. How is your son doing with his physio?

It hit 28C here today . . . Tooks, you can send all that rain up my way any day, we desperately need it. This afternoon, the breeze was dry and smelled of smoke again. *sigh* I fear my entire province will soon be burning . . .

Ah, Calma's brief respite is over . . . but it sounds like Lora did make it for part of the time! Hope your first day is an easy slide into your short week. :)

It's gonna be hot here today (well, hot for this city in mid-May) with the mercury forecast to hit +31C. Hopefully, the cooler temps and showers they're calling for later in the week materialize . . .

Have a good one peeps!

May 18, 1992 was a nice and warm day, just like today.

I had to rush into the hospital, and just half an hour after I got there, I had a brand new baby girl in my arms.

Was it really 18 years ago already?

My baby has become a big girl.

Well, the day went ok.

Ladies, y'all are too young and spritely to retire!

Rowan, yah for daughter's 18th b'day. :rose:

Scribbles, that's a bit warmish for Canada in MAY!!! The weather's gone loco!

Wednesday here. A rainy day. Which we need.

Last night, didn't get home until after 1130 as the silly rehearsal took FOREVER to finish. (The show is quite good.) My hands and armses are very tired and sore today. Good thing I have physio tomorrow to fix me.

Rowan, w00t for your daughter's 18th! :D Wow, just half an hour - a dream birth! :D :D :D

Weather is mixed here and decidedly on the chilly side.
I spent all weekend with my sweetie, so I had a good time. :D
On Sunday, we observed the mixed weather and idly wondered how cold/warm it would be in Helsinki. So just for fun we looked up the current temperature there and found it was pretty much the warmest place in Europe on Sunday afternoon! 8) :D

How'd have thought that? I would have guessed Italy...

TH, glad you are sooo happy.

Just watched an episode of Top Gear where they test drove the car I want. It was so awfully silly, the things they put it through. I wouldn't choose that shiny metallic green colour though. I kinda like the silver of the sea grey. Anyway, if you are curious to see what Clarkson did to the new Ford Fiesta...

Okay, okay I'm awake . . . oooooo thanks for breakfast Calma! grabs a latte and a plain doughnut . . .

Hmmm, can I retire with you two? I'm about ready . . . 'course, i've been about ready for years . . . :P

hobby, sounds like you had a splendid weekend.

nl, did your brother come through? Hmmmmm? :club: Oh, and a co-worker, who is from Holland, made note of the "NL" on my cast but was puzzled by the Chinese symbolism, LOLOL. The confusion on his face was priceless when I told him that NL stood for "notlistening', not the Netherlands. :lmbo:

We finally got some rain yesterday evening and a bit more overnight. I hope the 'scattered showers' they're calling for materialize too, we need the moisture. Yes, yes, I know, I sound like a broken record.

In other news, one more sleep to my cast checkup!! Woohoo!

Have a grand Wednesday, y'all.

For the last week or so, we've been lucky to get warm air from the southeast, and it's been almost like July. It really was warmer here yesterday than in the Mediterranean countries! But, next weekend, the wind is expected to turn north; that would mean clear but much cooler weather. So, for the moot weekend, you can be prepared to anything from +10 to +25C, depending on the winds.

Toby, you only missed a lot of juicy gossip... NOT. Hope you're feeling OK.

Well, part of my leg where they did the radiation was draining fluid, a lot more than it should have been. Naturally it happened on Sunday so i had to go to the ER rather than just talk to the nurses at the cancer center. The ER decided it might be an infection, so they put me in a room and gave me antibiotics and fluids, and drew blood and did a couple of tests.

toby- Sorry to hear about you hospital experience.

Myself, I'm convinced that the medical professions are mostly staffed by vampires. Any excuse to draw some blood.

BIG news here: Nadya is coming to Israel in June!!!   My sister found her a dirt cheap flight (which had to be ordered RIGHT NOW or not at all), so now it boils down to two things: Nadya getting the visa (she isn't a EU citizen, unfortunately), and me getting a week or so leave from work (which might be a bit tricky as we're woefully understaffed right now).

Tomorrow's the planning day. Going to plan a week-long whirlwind tour around the country for two. :)

Toby, is there anything we can send you, precious?

Maybe Tooks meant for you to pour the tequila on your leg?

Have fun planning ST.

Scribbles, brother did pay back $250 for my money which will cover the rent shortfall. But alas, the payout for the court case is now being studied by the Govt peeps as anything over $1M (I think) has to be okayed by them. Not sure why. The hospital did the wrong thing...So I doubt I'll be getting a new car anytime soonish. :(

Besides, I'd rather he pay back my parents.

Yowzer toby, that sounds, well, not like fun. I hope it all gets sorted out for you soon. Maybe we could all send you tequila? :)

nl, that's good news about brother, and I understand and agree that he needs to pay your parents back as well. Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later. I also hope the court thingy gets resolved, in your favour of course. ;)

ST, that's wonderful news about Nadya, i hope you two have just the best time! :)

Okay, what kinda odds will y''all give me . . . another cast tomorrow, or not? Step right up and lay yer best, yessir, Luck better be my lady tomorrow i can tell ya that much. i want my life back!! :P
