I work two different jobs, and you would think that since the fourth falls on a Sunday that they would both be closed on the same day. Right? Wrong! The offices for my online job are closed on Friday, and my job that is actually out of the house is closed on Monday.

In all fairness to the online job, I know why the offices are closed are closed on Friday instead of Monday. I work for a career college and Monday starts a new set of classes. I know they would much rather be closed the last weekday of the current classes than the first weekday of new classes. But it still kinda sucks. Although I am probably going to log into work anyway. :P I have end of the module (or class) paperwork I need to get done. Summaries of who I contacted this week to the various instructors I help, all 15 of them, all that information needs to go to my supervisor as well, and the full set of contact info for all four weeks to my supervisor as well. I'm getting a start on it now, but I've still got to finish my phone calls later tonight. Only 47 more to go over the course of 4 hours.

Oh, and it's 4:15 pm MDT. My "lunch" hour is right now, I need to get a Wiggles up, and at some point both she and I need dinner. I think I'll make some macaroni and cheese and figure out something to put with it.

Oh, and Happy Canada Day

0705 BST

I'm in work for my second day shift and am fighting off a headache caused by the neighbours. (It's to do with parking in front of our house on the private road and how that space is supposedly a turning circle only and they need all of it to get out of their driveway - they don't - and on Tuesday ]Wilko's dad popped by, parked there for a couple of hours and returned to the car to discover that our neighbour had deliberately blocked him in and refused to move his car so Wilko's dad had to drive over the garden to get out. There's more to it than that, but I'm sick of devoting energy to thinking about it, so I'll not rant about it any more. :))

Heliona, maybe we should send Scribbles and her broadsword over to read the riot act to the stupid neighbours? Louie and the family would probably be happy to help, too...

It's 5:02 pm MDT and I'll be logging off work in about 15 minutes and calling it a day. Looks like I'll be making up the rest of my time tomorrow morning. *sigh* Ah well, it was a good enough week, so I won't complain.

heliona, can you contact your neighborhood constabulary the next time the neighbor takes up parking that they're not supposed to? Just, y'know, curious. (and I sympathize completely with having doofus neighbors . . . {{hug}} )

CR, hope it was a good day off, even if it was a full one. :)

Sorry, must run. It's hubby's birthday today so of course, he's invited in a load of people, LOLOL. It's been quite the Entertainment Weekly around here this week!

10:24pm HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR. SCRIBBLES!! Image

Heliona.. I think you should find out just what the regulations are regarding that spot.. then either have someone in authority inform the neighbors.. or print it out & present them with the 'rules' for that spot. Have it over & done with or it will be a source of contention for as long as you live there. Good luck.

5:30 pm MDT and CR got a SUNDAY OFF???!!! DUUUUDE!!!!! :D HUZZAH!!!!! I sure hope there's a few more of these in your future!!

I puttered in the garden after church and lunch, until it started blowing and looking like rain. Alas, it's just grey and threatening with the occasional bout of spitting.

I want REAL rain. =:)

9:45 pm MDT and egads, I'm sorry to hear that CR!!

I'd gladly take at least half that rain if possible. We really need more moisture, though not in the southern parts of the province. They're as badly off as you folks . . . :(

This week's forecast doesn't show any showers for us either. *sigh* Looks like I'll be spending my entire evenings moving a sprinkler around the place.

We are to expect 'scattered' thunderstorms' all week. Scribbles, I hope you get some rain. CR.. I hope you don't get too much!

That's the plan. We've spoken to our letting agents, who are happy for us to park there, and we have asked for the title deeds to the house. We've actually got some from the Land Registry off the internet (you pay a small fee) and it states that the land in front of our house, including the "turning area" actually belongs to the house. But there are some "restrictive convenants" applied to the property - what they are we don't know as yet. It may be that it does mean we can't park there. In which case, fair enough.

We wrote a letter explaining our situation (and also that if we were blocked in again we'd be calling the police) and offered to take up mediation (there are independent mediation groups around here that help with things like this) and that it might be best to continue this discussion via letter. They got the letter today, so we'll see what happens now.

Anyway, it is 1443 BST, I have snapdragons in several vases throughout my living room (the wind has been really strong here and the large snapdragons at the front of the house are in danger of blowing over and breaking. One already has done. They've been allowed to get too tall. So I've had to chop them all back and now have lots of flowers in the house. :)).

Yes, it's been very strong winds here, and cloudy, with some rain. Gotta love the British summer! ;)

9:33 AM CDT. Don't know how often I'll be able to be on here. My home computer's down and won't let me in. Don't ever open emails with the title "no subject." now I'm getting notices that my computer is infected and is trying to get me to subscribe to other virus protection people and blocking my access to the internet. *sigh*

CR, sorry to hear of your computer woes. Did you have functioning Anti-Virus software running on your system? There are good ones out there, some available from the Web. I've heard Avast is quite good, and comes with a $0 price tag . . . :) Do you use e-mail "filters"? ((I do, and have one specially to route all "no subject" type e-mails to a Spam folder, where I can see if things have attachments and just delete them un-opened.))

Hopefully, you can get your system cleared up, it may mean taking it into a tech centre and getting a tech to recover and back up the data on your disk, then wipe it clean and re-install your software from scratch.
