Hey.....I stopped by Manwe this morning to read a few posts...and saw Vison's signature. Did her husband die? :( She doesn't post much in Talk but she is an icon of Manwe.....is she ok? Just wondering...maybe I'm reading the signature wrong so please set me straight. I truly don't know her well enough to email or such to ask such a question, but I truly am concerned.

OK....this was just a quick post...I'll be back later. I've got 20 to 30 people arriving in an hour. And I'm one exhausted wench.

I saw that Wenchie, and it sure sounds like it . . . I know she beat breast cancer a few years back, but I have no idea if her husband was also ill . . . :(

We got rain/snow/rain yesterday / this morning . . . but it's finally breaking up so hopefully we'll get some sun and more seasonal temperatures this week. ;)

We watched "Sherlock Holmes" last evening - I thought it was a great new twist on an old classic. Both Robert Downey jr, and Jude Law were fantastic in the roles . . . and the introduction of Prof. Moriarty was very well done . . . IMHO that is.

Well, time to go curl up with hubby and watch another flick. I think it's gonna be The Road, with our own dear Viggo . . . ;)

Have a grand afternoon all!

:D:D:D

:woah: <= closest I can get to head popping

:D

Life was lovely today!!

Lovely, riveting church service-->goodies in the kitchen-->1/4 of semi-unusual ingredients for my LEMBAS!-->yummy turkey sandwiches-->our best (and last) play production so far!! Cornelius forgot absolutely no lines in the court scene and Dolly sang gorgeously despite her laryngitis/fever, yay!! (The play is Hello, Dolly, and I'll be singing "Before the Parade Passes By" for the next two months)-->three rides at the carnival with my sis-->ice cream-->Kasey (aka Dolly) landing someone in the dunk tank-->best cast party with best food and best conversations ever-->lazy hour or so hanging out at several random sites-->fire truck parade-->BEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY I CAN REMEMBER IN, LIKE, EVER!!!!-->a wee bit of TORCing

See? :D Life is good.

Hiril, that does sound like the best day ever. ;) :D

Yes Tooks, snow. Luckily it was mixed with rain and the ground is too warm for it to stick too long, but crikey, snow at the end of May!!! What i want to know is, WHERE THE HECK IS THIS GLOBAL WARMING??!! it sure ain't happening up where I live, LOL . . .

Just got home from a Chili Party at our dear friend Laura's. I couldn't help but think of Rose and rwhen as we scarfed down delicious Chili, homemade corn bread, salad and two differend kinds of dessert (one of which I brought - a Rhubarb Cake ;) ) Now i'm stuffed and sleepy, think i'll finish my cuppa and stumble off to bed . . .

Have a good one peeps!!

Yes, sadly vison's husband died on Friday the 28th from cancer. We were/are planning to stop & visit her when we are on our way out of Vancouver, BC a week from tomorrow. We'll pass on some love.

Thanks, Rose. A real hug is better than a virtual one.

Sounds like Hiril had a great day. My weekend will be relatively quiet, thank goodness. As long as the neighbors didn't stock up on any fireworks. :P

Scribbles, LOL. The global warming is down here. I noticed this year that a lot of fruit is coming ripe almost 2 weeks earlier than usual!!!

Heard the news about The Hobbit this a.m. too. Egads.

OK, back to normal, after a busy but great weekend with Hobby and her companion, Heliona, and Wilko. :D I think they'll post their moot accounts as soon as they get home and have a breather.

Rose, give Vison a hug from me as well when you see her. I'll pop in to HoF for the rest of the story. :cry2:

Rose, thanks so much for clearing things up, but that is so sad. Please send my condolences. From some posts I've read over the years, it sounds like they had a wonderful relationship. :(

(Tooks....I can look in Manwe, just not post. :D It's my posting hands that are duct taped. )

Hiril, glad you had a great day! I love fireworks....we have spectacular ones around me (mainly because we are a testing ground for the Alonso Fireworks company....which is located in the next town down the road).

The BBQ is over! Yeah! I think it went well....everybody seemed to be full and the weather was just gorgeous. Lots of talking and ping pong and volleyball. An interesting group of humans, but it worked out good. And....I slept like a log last night.

And no plans today.....hope to go for a nice long walk in the park this morning, once my hubby stirs....(still sleeping he is).

Oh I cross posted with Rowanberry....glad you had a great weekend with everyone!

Oh my, yes, big hugs for Vision. :( Rose, I think you'll just end up spending the entire time hugging her.

Happy memorial day to all in the US! Take a few minutes out of the picnics to remember not only our fallen soldiers, but everyone we love. :rose:

Been visiting cemeteries the past few days...tracked down my grandparents again. I keep losing track of their grave for some odd reason.

Spent my Memorial Day at work.
Someone has to feed the people.
Besides it's double time and I get the Fourth off. :D

Tooks, I was ok with the results of the races.
I don't follow open wheel racing, but I love watching the Indy 500.
My Jeffy didn't win the Coca-Cola 600, but neither did Jimmie Johnson, so that made me happy. :D

Later...

Oh poor vison. Please give her a  from me as well. :(

Snow? In May? Canada sure is a crazy place. And yes, Scribbles, Sherlock Holmes was quite good. The boys did a great job and looks set for a good sequel as well. How was teh Road? I'm not a big Viggo fan unless it's LOTR. How biased is that?

Tooks, what is the distrubing Hobbit news, precious?

Another visit from the famousest of cookies? Excellent. Now Calma can duct tape him down and we can keep him.

I saw Letters to Juliet and Prince of Persia on the weekend. Both were enjoyable and you could basically guess what was going to happen. I had the baddie picked fom PoP then they tried to fool me a couple of times but I was right from the start. :nono: :D I like Bruckheimer stuff.

Rowan, glad the mini moot went well. I wish I could get to the Oxford one this year. :( Darn this living at the bottom of the world thing sometimes...

Rose because we are close in proximity, I have met Vison before but though Canada would let me in, Washington would not let me back without a passport and I do not have one. My birth certificate and my legal name now do not match so they would not allow me to cross the border. *Stupid laws anyways* So till I can get one or a special endorsed drivers license I can not go across to see either her, Eru or Scribbles darlin!!! :( I will get one when I can.

I met vison and Laureanna a couple of years ago when Laureanna was moving to California. :D

I want to meet you too NL!!! Some day hon!!!!

Mmm, shrimps. About the only kind of shellfish that I eat. :)

And, some day, I want to tour the States and Canada to see my TORC friends there, because most of them probably won't have a chance to come anywhere in Europe. And then, an Australia and NZ trip... 8)

I believe that it would be quite possible to arrange, unless my health fails or I get made redundant or something else gets in the way. The kids will soon be on their own, I hope, and then...
