Happy New year, sidd! :drink: I shall have a cup of peppermint tea to mark the occasion. :D

Toay it is mild enough outside for me to do without a scarf and hat for the first time this year! Woohoo! I do hope the temperatures stay mild for a while now. It's been a bleak long winter.

Siddharth, where are you from?

Today we experimented with pork with soy and honey sauce for dinner. Turned out quite nice. My head is also scrambled from all the maths that I am learning for my exam tomorrow.

I also generally prefer cooking to baking for the same reasons as Silwen. Also baking can be expensive.

Pepp-tea sounds cool Silwen. Thanks! ;) :D

tele, I am from India. That sounds delicious, btw. :D

LK, that siggie is hilarious!!

Today I thought all of my hard drives crashed down! All of them vanished from the desktop. So I had to open and tighten all the connections and stuff. Now it's as good as old. :D *sigh of relief*

Sidd, I suspected you may be from India. :D I was wondering where in the world there would be New Year's celebrations now and India came to mind, but for reasons I was completely srong about. Ah well, at least I got it halfway right. What kind of celebrations are there on that day?

Today I am wearing a sleeveless dress - I may be tempting fate, but it is 11 degrees and therefore fairly mild. The windows are open and it is lovely to have fresh air in here again for more than just 10 minutes. And no need to use the heating, yay!

Some of you have heard me talk about my youngest son, Luke. He has Asperger's syndrome and has had his struggles but also his triumphs. His best attribute is his absolute determination to do - well, whatever he determines he wants to do.

He has started a RADIO SHOW - with the help of an old friend of mine (actually, an ex, but that's another story.)

It is called "Political Grandslam with Hutter & Wayne" and it's kind of a hodge-podge talk show. It's on at Tuesdays (TODAY) from about 4pm - 5pm. It streams on line, so anyone with a computer can listen.

I would LOVE it if any of you could call in today. He would get such a kick out of it. If you do call in, turn your computer sound down, as there is a time delay.

Here's how to find it:
Go to www.live365.com
Search for "FR Community Radio" and the station should come up.
If that doesn't work, try going directly to
http://www.live365.com/stations/bristolcollege

They should say the phone number on the air. It should go on at about 4:00pm or so...it's a little fluid right now.

Here's their Facebook page...you can "like" it!

Jewel, that sounds like a fantastic thing that your son is doing!

India! Beautiful! Would love to go there one day.

Today my exam went brilliantly. I also have a job interview on Friday. :D

Today I have a hospital appointment and am more nervous about getting there than anything else. Originally, a friend was going to drive me, but she unexpectedly doesn't have the car today. She will still meet me at hospital, so at least I won't be waiting for ages all by myself.

Always welcome, Tele! :D I myself have dreams to go to a lot of different countries. ;)

Silwen. Just to tell you, India has several communities and all have new years at different times. So, it was actually my community's new year.
And the celebrations were not too extravagantly. My family likes it nice and simple. :D Just having some great food and spending quality time with family and friends. :D

Today I have to stay awake late to finish an assignment... so I have to take a nap in the afternoon.

Silwen- hope everthing comes out all right for your appointment!
Sid- Happy New Year to you! (and lots of energy and efficiency in getting your assignment done :)
LK- Teas for your troubles- I do hope and pray you will be feeling better soon

Today I've been pruning- a tricky and prickly business. Out of 24 thorny plants I am down to the last four (large bush and climbing). I'll be needing a ladder for the climbing roses. My wrists look like they've been attacked by the cat in spite of long sleeves and gloves. Weather is sunny and about 21°C

Thanks Crystal, everything went well. They didn't find anything despite my odd test results from the previous weeks. Now we'll have to wait and see what a specialist says next time I have an appointment.

Today I discovered glipho.com, a sort of blog cum social network site.

Silwen, glad your appointment went well.

Today I had an exam. I did really well except for not writing essays on separate scripts. Neither did my friend and we are worried they will dock us points.

Tari, I hope you won't get docked points for that! Sounds silly.

Today we had McDonald's for dinner, which I enjoyed. We seldom ever have junk food so once in a while it is really nice to have. To make up for it, I have now made the meal plan for next week and it will be much healthier. :D

Today is cloudy, overcast and rainy---just a gloomy day.

Wish I could go home and go back to bed, but when I get off work I HAVE to go shopping. Must have food for the cats.

Silwen, my friend emailed the module leader who assured us we will not be docked and told her that other people also did it. So glad we weren't the only ones. :P

Today I went for an interview but never got a job. Although I may have found a place that will accept me for a one week placement that I need to do for my course. :)

Tel---yeah, I know all about having interviews but not getting the job. :(

But at least you found something that will help you with your course.

Today I'm only going to do what absolutely need doing, and spend the remainder of the day resting my back.

Today I am sat in a Take Away local to my nan's, having Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls with Chips for my tea. Culinary art at its finest :P

At least the walk back to hers isn't a long one at all.

Today I spent the morning setting up a coupon code online for my sock patterns. Never did that before! Since it is my birthday on Friday, I am giving buyers of my sock patterns 25% off that whole weekend.

[In case you are on Ravelry.com, you can also use my code bdaygirl here from April 26-28.]

Later on I will be meeting a new friend of mine and we will have a look through town. Sadly, we don't have the lovely sunshine we had yesterday.

Today I got the results of my essay that I submitted a few weeks ago which put me in a bad mood. I only got 53% despite working so hard on it and feel as if the criticisms do not justify the low mark that I received. I'll be sending an email to my tutor to chat about it, just feel a little down about it. :(

Fingers and toes crossed, Tari!

Today is day 4 of The Plague (i.e. flu). At least I am feeling better and can focus on things again. It's my first British flu and so much worse than my former German ones. :P
