Canadians ask a lot of questions on applications. Seems like a who, what, when, where, why.

Come on just do the "write 750 words" thing :D

NL!! Your sig! :lmbo:

looks out the window . . . I hope we didn't smoosh any hobbits either, but if we creamed an orc or two that would be okay. As long as they're not any of Dubs' relatives, that is. :D

Story, first of all you're going to be brilliant on your exam. As for what you described about a pension plan through your employer . . . is 5% the maximum and could you start out with a lower percentage? Saving for retirement isn't a bad plan and the earlier you start, the less you have to cough up each month because you'll save over a longer time and accrue more interest. ;) Also, is there an option to "take the money out" if you leave? Most employers will at least return your contributions (plus any interest the sum has accrued), which, if you left their employ you could then invest in something that might pay a better interest rate . . . though these days that's no easy feat. I would make a list of all the questions you have and get the Pension Guy to answer all of them. ;)

Lewie, what's wrong with Friday? :? Hehehe, and you mean you've never heard of W5? Tsk, tsk, tsk . . . :D

:hihi: Hi and bye all . . . muuuuuust sleep.

. . . sneaks off with Tooks' last bottle of rum . . .

Howdy all!!! Seems the only time I find to post is when my insomnia hits. Sheesh.

Vana, that is awesome news! :)

And NL....that bi-polar thing may be the ticket on this one. Definitely may explain the behavior. Our friend that had it is a new person once they found the right medication for him (finding the right meds took a long time, but he's a new man now...has been for two decades). Hope things improve.

Thanksgiving is almost here.....where in the heck has the time gone this fall? I am just in shock how quick things are moving....

And now we are in New Zealand???? Very nice....I have friends in Christ Church.

Gadzooks . . . I'm sorry Lewie. I totally forgot about the horror that is Black Friday. (So I hope y'all understand when I say that when Canada "imported" this practice from the US a few years back, I was disgusted. Boxing Day Sales were bad enough . . . :( )

On a brighter note . . . a Wenchie sighting!! :hihi:

I have better things to do on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Never really cared to get into the middle of a rabid mass of people.
Lewie, just keep breathing.
And leave the uzi at home.

The wind and the rain hit last night.
Pine cones from the neighbor's tree pelting my house woke me up at 2 am
Ooo, four hours of sleep.
Lots of fun.

Later....

Great pictures, Iris! 8) Your dress was just lovely! I'll still have to take a better look on a better time. :)

Fortunately, we don't have days like your Black Friday here (except when some new mall or market opens and lures people in with some Big Bargains - then, they go just as crazy as anywhere). But, if we did, I'd definitely be with Calma - there are dozens of better things to do than shop 'til you drop.

Iris. Very pretty gown.
You look so happy.
Are you used to living with him yet?
Took me about two months before I got used to my babyman.

Eyes are still drooping.
I usually don't have a Coke until about ten,
But I just had one about an hour ago.
It's sorta working...

*hands Tooks the PJmeter...*

Let's go, girl.

Iris, your pictures are wonderful . . . I especially like the "classic Black and White" shot, it's stunning. You make a wonderful couple. :D And it looks like it was a special and fun day for all involved! :) Thank you so much for sharing . . . :D

I'm not normally a "shopaholic" my ownself . . . I don't mind it when I'm on holiday or I can go with someone special (like notlistening, who is an utter joy to spend time with, anywhere and for any reason. ;) )

But you won't find me within 100 miles of huge, stampede-type sales days of any kind. I agree that there are far better ways to spend a day off than getting elbowed in the chops by some rabid man or woman . . .

Gah. Work. We just found out that our present horrible "helping out another team" assignment may be extended . . . Lord keep me sane (and away from the Uzi . . . :P )

Hooray! Hooray! New Zealand Bound!

I must admit the chance to write
about this splendid land,
is something I find wonderful,
supremely, hugely grand!
For on those fair and lovely isles
are family and friends,
with whom I share my coin and time
and greetings gladly sends!

So Kia ora, everyone!
Aroha to you all!
Oh Aotearoa!
I hear your distant call!
I will stop by fair Hobbiton,
then on to Dunedin,
spend time enjoying Wellington:
Come! let good times begin!

Blessings,
Parm :)

Enjoy this great song with some amazing scenery!!
Hooray for the joys of June!

Mmmm, thanks for the music and poetry Parm, and the Shire Tour, Tooks.

I'm very glad to see that New Zealand has put a permanent sort of interpretive centre at the movie set site and has plans now to make it a permanent tourist attraction. I think it's a great idea, not only will they preserve a gorgeous piece of landscape, but also keep a beautiful and unique spot open for folks to visit and enjoy. (Plus, I hope they make boatloads of money to help with the upkeep and running of the place. )

Warm Chinook waves :hihi: to everyone!! (Yes, it's a lovely, sunny +2C here today, a welcome relief from the horrible early freezingness of last week.)

Yeah, I shouldn't really play less football. You're right, it's good to enjoy it long-term. Unless I do get a serious injury. Which is unlikely, I've recently just been getting a succession of minor ones. Well, three since September. Although to be fair one of those was just me being stupid and falling some of the way down the stairs...

Alas I did not get to Hobbiton when I was in NZ this time last year. It was too far inland for me. But the stuff I saw in Wellington was great too.

Hey, I have a new mouse. It's sooo much quieter! ;) No it really is. My old, now dead in the bin one, was noisy when you back-scrolled. I would say he had some loose innards...

Nothing worse then a loud mouse!!! :P

Today went fairly well but I do not look forward to Friday and all the greedy angry bargain grabbers. Egads I would still be home in bed if they would not have to go shopping like there is no way to get Christmas gifts without fighting someone for them. Sheesh!!! I must admit that even though I have been in retail for some 40 years almost, that I have never had to work early hours for Black Friday. I have to be there this year at 5:40 am and I know I will be the walking dead before then end of my 10 hour day!!! :P

Oh well it is only one day a year I suppose.

But till then there is tomorrow with family and great food!!! YUM!!!! :D

fffff, I couldn't post yesterday.,. nor read the thread... nor do any transcriptions at all.

I have only one word to describe the day, so sorry I must say it :

:woah: SNOW >-O

First snow of the year... and for some reasons we didn't have our winter tires yet :bang: ... so we kind of violently met the sidewalk at some point of the way to work... but we are lucky, the car was ok and we could go to work, have the tire changed (we had an appointment schedules for that !) and a little repair because of this bump.

And I didn't have the time to take my boots out, so I had these little shoes that don't even cover the whole feet, so my socks were wet about 30 seconds after I went outside  . I know, that was stupid. But well, I had a weird week. 2 days left, come on ! Today I'll have my boots, I promise :D
