Morisiliel check the Starwatchers guild and they should have the information in the last few pages for you.

Anduial thank you for the compliment about me and who I am. Yes the ring is very pretty. I sure hope I can find a pendant that either matches your description or can be made. I really want one!

Well met!

Thank you Morisiliel!Though you're right <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> they do focus more on ourselves than on the twilight itself. I hadn't noticed. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll go work on a new one!
-Iavasel

Well, it seems that meteor shower is already starting. I camped out on the night of the 9th, and went stargazing. It was soo awesome, we saw about 5 or 6 shooting stars. Some were slow and steady, others flashed really bright and then dissapeared. Ah, how I love that night sky. I have to leave for now, but I shall be on later
*Aduial*

How fares thy Lovers of Twlight these blessed and clear starry nights? I will be making ready my telescope soon to view the meteor shower. 'Lo! and Behold the beauty for it ever stirrs my hear with a great bliss o' peacefulness and sometimes more than most, forgetfullness of the world around. Ah, just that one solid minute of myself dancing upon the indigo velvet sky with stars hand in hand while the moonbeams light our path and the twilight forever bounding my heart to it. And still though my love for sunshine and flowers still bare in my heart the pain of not seeing the twilight shall forever be aroused whilst the earth baths itself in the sunshine.

Blessed Be!

That was an awesome post, Liadan. I know the feeling, that you cannot rebuke the beauty of sunlight for the love of night, but the twilight of night is so much more magickal and mystifying. Not many people prefer dark as a good thing. In the Prancing Pony here on TORC, any role play I am in always similars darkness with evil. It does not always have to be so. Its hard to think of someone who worships the night as someone who is good. Alas for the poor souls who shall never comprehend the wonder that a shadow holds, nor the pure bliss of the night sky!
One other point I feel must be made: (actually two others) The elves, as stated in the Silmarillion, were born under the stars. The sun was not yet made. And when the sun and moon were created, was not the moon the dolice one, and the sun burning and hard to control?

Just a thought

*Aduial*

Gilthoniel, A Elbereth! A Elenya Anna! Stellar indeed Aduial! Many thanks to thee for my love of the twilight and the night itself is great. Many relaxations come from the beauty of darkness.

Blessed Be!

Liadan, your words brought pictures of true beauty to my mind. I saw the image of two beautiful stars sitting in the palms of your hands as you danced on moonbeams. Oh the vision of the beauty that night holds that so many miss by their sole worship of the sun.

I am so moved by the night that my breath is stilled when I stare up into the beauty of the stars bathed in bright moonlight. The shadows cast by the moonlight are so much more magical then the ones caused by the sunlight. I am a child of the night and will gladly praise her beauty far and wide upon the earth. Her grace in subtle beauty and soft hues.

Thank you for your words all of you. I truly feel like I have found my home and family.

Liadan, I love the names you came up with but since there could be guys join our group I think we should stay with a name that would fit us all or come up with a name for the "Sons of the Twilight" too. I think at this point we are all girls as far as I can tell but we must allow for the possibility of guys joining sometime. At least I hope some guys will join us at sometime. That would be nice.

So where do you find such wonderful names?

The letters with the symbols over them are called umlats. I know there is a way to down load them onto your computer from an internet site or something.

The names I got from an internet Quenya Dictionary though I am none to sure how accurate they might be.

*The First Star in the Night*

‘I ran... ran atop a small hill though to me it seemed to go on forever. Under my feet the green grass was cool against my skin though the dew drops were perilously slippery. I remember the flowers, alas! A swirling color of blue and purple, and then the hints of red and pink, orange and a faint color of yellow. I beheld the colors and gasped for indeed I now leaped upon the twilight. Realizing then I was carry something in my hand and I stopped to look at what I held. Holding my closed fist to my face streams of light escaped through the seems of my fingers. Then I released my hand and inside was a glimmer of light so strong and yet so faint and faraway to look at. And then I laughed and I was joyous in heart for in my hand the star began to dance. The moon shone about us and the flowers wavered and leaped with joy and rustled with merriment. And the star kissed the skies with it’s light and lifted the heavens with love. I could speak no words for such beauty yet one sipped from my lips. “Undómë...” I whispered but rather my heart did.’

Blessed Be!

I liked the name suggestions, but perhaps we should cross Quenya and Sindarin for a name. Sorry, but I am of the Sindar, and I quite love that elvish alnguage as well.

"..They are called the Sindar, the Greyelves of starlit Beleriand; and although they were Mori-quendi, under the lordship fo Thingol and the teaching of Melian they became the fairest and the most wise and skilful of all the Elves of Middle-earth. .... Though Middle-earth lay for the most part in the Sleep of Yavannna, in Beleriand under the power of Melian there was life and joy, and the bright stars shone as silver fires; and there in the forest of Neldoreth Luthien was born, and the white flowers of niphredil came forth to greet her as stars from the earth..."

- Silmarillion, p.100

I would like to join... for I love the dusky twilight, but I have no poem. I do not really know what else to offer. To give you an idea of me, I love that time of day because I enjoy watching the sun go down, and night comes. No bright lights, everything is simpler to say for you do not need to make eye contact in the dark. True feelings seem somehow different to me at night, as though the dark makes them easier to reveal. And what is a shadow but a dark reflection of us?

Of course I am here! The sunset was beautiful tonight and the twilight has given way to moonbeams and starlight. Views of the heavens are beyond the words ever used to describe them. The meteor showers are done for now yet in November we shall be once more showered with the nights spectacular show.

As the sun sets in the sea
Moonbeams are then calling me

Come now dance and feel breeze
Dancing mid the velvet trees

With the faeries floating lite
Dance now in the nights starlight

Twirling round the forest green
Shadowed so no eyes have seen

Magic spins it twilight spell
For the night I know so well

Here I live and love the night
Hidden from the view of light

~Vana~

That's a beautiful poem Vanaladiel! Another in November? excellent. Keeperofthestars, I need alot of sleep, though I deeply abhor the fact I have to miss the night. I wish I could go to sleep at 4:00 PM and wake again aorund 12:AM because I love the night and the morning. Afternoon I do not like so well, untill sunset. I wish we didn't need sleep; that sleep was only optional for dreaming. But then again, if everyone didnt sleep, night would not be any quieter. Ah, complications of reality!
*Aduial*

'Lo my Twilight feins, how fares all? I am well, though I pray to whomever lives in the heavens that stress wilt not take me for I must begin to write my essays for college apps. Oh the horror! I do not know what I want to be yet, so many choices I can not settle on just one.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> I will be starting up school anon, I do not think I shall say any more on that other than it will sadden me deeply for September and October until the nights lenghten so I may spend more time dancing in the Twilight amid the First Stars that Elbereth herself wilt give to the crisp clear winter. BUT, until then I shall continue to sit here in the burning east coast heat wave and sweat off another 20 lbs.

Blessed Be!

You can sleep 3 hours and still be okay for the rest of the dya? Oh how I envy thee.
I also live on the east cost, and I am roasting. 100 degrees here today. Yesterday power went out and no AC for like an hour...(oh the horror<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>) haha. But I love warm nights. I liek to just lay on the grass and stargaze.... I wish I lived in Maine, stars are kinda hard to see here. My aunt and uncle live there, in a remote part. I love visiting htem. There are all these deer and moose and fields... I love to drive the ATV up the mountains <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Oh, now I'm dreaming.... this year I can go up and swim in the mountain springs. Cold, but awseomly refreshing!
Oh, if you have not noticed I am queen of typos. Sometimes I correct them, but sometimes I don't. Sorry I am lazy right now. I usually fix them though.
Once more thing, have any of you ever tired astral projection? It is quite fun to walk without your body at night, I must say. Quite the expierience.
*Aduial*

wow.. I even typoed my name... at least i fixed that one <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>

I too sleep very little. I find it hard to rest and not find things to do. I am also a night owl who loves to play and dance at night.

I am on the west coast and though we are not tortured by 100 degree weather it is very warm. So night time is the right time to get comfortable and have great fun.

Welcome to the new members. Cain Norfan and Stickatnaughtstrider, it is great to have you join us.

I would love to hear some information on each member so that we can learn about each other and where approx. each is located (ie. US, east, west, central, Europe, etc.) guys or gals and what our favorite time at night or favorite thing to do at night.

Like you can tell I am a gal from the west coast of the US. I love to go out at night into the evening air and admire the stars. I do enjoy dancing in the moonlight with my shadow from her light. I am not a teenager but feel 16 in my heart.(remember if you are under 18 do not give your age, nor give your town or state)

Welcome new members! I tried to post a few days ago to welcome you sooner, and share a poem, and tell Liadan what a lovely poem was in that post, but my computer is being rather difficult. A bother, but oh well.
My location? New England, and I absolutely adore it. I couldn't live anywhere else but the northeast. Favorite night time activity? I'd have to say escaping out onto my roof and dreaming lazily as I watch the stars. I love the early morning hours, and late night, but an usually full of energy at anytime during the day. I'm not a morning person, or an evening person, but an all-day person. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
-Iavasel

Lo All!!! 'Tis a warm night but tonight we had the most beautiful thunder storm I have yet to see, it occured right at the twilight and the lightening bolts mingled with the red and purples of the night making the storm fierce yet calm and reassuring us of no heat for a few hours. And yet because of that there are no stars tonight which saddens me greatly but tomorrow night is still to come.

I live in NH, New England and yes it is beautiful here my heart is torn in two for half is in NewMarket-on-Fergus, Ireland, and the other in California where I was born yet Ireland where I was bred for half of my life. but soon maybe I might mend that. Next year after I graduate I am moving to Northern California with my sister. My heart is too weary of life and I fear I need a break but soon maybe I still have ways to go.

My favorite time of night is when all is black except for the shadows that the full moon cast upon the ground. To look upon the stars beauty for I must admit that stars are most dear to my heart, they make me grateful for everything. I mostly like to write when I am dwelling in the moons shadows. I am really big into lore, myths, and superstions (I'm all Irish, it's in my blood!) especially of Ireland so I love faeries and such.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> But the stars really can take my breath away so on Christmas vacation I decided to get a tatoo (after doing all the research on them of course, on my lower back, a small one not very big, of a star entwined in thorns with a cresent moon in the middle and underneath it will say stellar. I wanted the thorns, I know they may sound a bit morbid, because well I know that Im not a good person but Im not so bad either, beside thorns just show the entricate part of peopls personalities...

Oh ADUIAL I have indeed done astral projection, talk about a whirl pool of wonder!! It is the most relaxing yet unrelaxing thing I have ever done. Really thou may find a lot about past lives and thy inner self with a.p... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Blessed Be!
