Hello Everyone!
I am in a pretty good mood, I just got a paycheck, I am watching Lord of the Rings (again yes) and I also finsihed an oil painting that I have been working on from the beginning of the summer. It is the only painting I have ever done and truely liked. It is of Aduial, and she is holding a frozen purple lily. (Frozen because anything that touches her icy skin freezes) The back ground is a sunset/moon rise twilight setting, because Aduial is sindarin for Evening Twilight. It is too big for me to scan, but I may find some onther way to get a picture of it on my site.
*Aduial*

'Lo all! How fairs my twilight friends this wonderful moonlit night? The moon is extremely beautiful tonight, I love just driving around on summer nights with the sun roof open and all the windows down catching the winds of the night... it's so refreshing and relaxing. I just came from the hospital visiting my dad because he has a 10mm kidney stone that was blokcing his bladder and then they put a stint in and now he is bleeding perfusely... but he's going to be okay. We had a nice loooong chat. Some grand ole father/daughter bonding, I wanted cry.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> Have a nice night!

Blessed Be!

Hello!
oh, Liadan, I hope your dad will be fine. May the stars be with you!
It is 12:45 here. I could not sleep, I felt the night calling me so to speak. I knitted until the coast was clear, and crept outside, lighting my way with a candle-lantern that is crushed purple glass. I set it down and went outside. I sat on the lawn for awhile, then laid down on my still-warm driveway and stargazed, thinking aobut stuff. I felt an urge to go back inside, so i gave in and went back in the deck door. Jsut as I had closed and re-locked it, the headlights of my brother shone in the driveway. Whew, that was close.
And now here I am. I must go try to sleep now, good night everyone.
*Aduial*

Good morning to all my twilight family!

My prayers are for your father too Liadan. I know he will be up and about before you know it and good as new.

Last night coming home from my 4 days away I watched the moon rise in the sky and the hues of twilight as they came up and set it ablaze with color. It was beautiful and so serene. Today is a bit gloomy out so I dont know if I will get to see the twilight in all her glory tonight. I pray I do for I love its colors and the visions it gives to me.

I am planning my costumes for the gathering and think I will go with twilight colors for my dresses. I do want one in forest or hunter green but I think a purple dress or dark blue would be beautiful for what I have planned. I do hope that many of you can come in Dec. 2003 to Toronto, Canada for the gathering and the parties.

I too have had the out of body experiences. It is awesome to be doing something and know that you are suddenly looking down upon yourself and what you are doing then to go on and see the world in a new way. It is truly wonderful and I never tried to do it. It is something that has just happened and many times indeed.

last night it rained here, but i did get a chance to see the moon. i love the way it outlines the clouds in silver. perhaps it will be clear tonight. if it is, i'll try to get out on my roof and stargaze. (if i can get out the dumb window...<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0>) soon i will have a picture for you to see...it's very pretty...of a wierd shaped tree on the shore of a lake at twilight, and right where the tree bends (like an upside down, backwards L) you can see the moon.

If I come to the gathering, I will of course be dressed in my signature color, silver. But I don't know if I will be able to come, as that comes during the school year and i doubt if i will be able to get away, but i will certaintly try!

-Iavasel

It is www.tolkiengathering.com or go to the events forum and look for the Dec 2003 GoTF thread.

It is a three day event with a banquet, contests such as poetry and costume and then it ends with the three movies back to back finishing with the premiere of the RoTK. It is going to be so cool. It is scheduled for the week before Christmas in Dec. 2003.

I would love to have you all there so I can meet you and hug you all, then we could go dance in the moonlight like a group of meadow sprites "celebrating the twilight".

Welcome Lady Elle and Sky! It is great to have you join us in our praise of the twilight.

Liadan I am making a pattern from Simplicity #5843. It is the yellow dress but it shall be colors of the twilight, either deep purple or dark blue with a sparkling thread throughout if possible, and silver trim. To see it go to www.simplicity.com click on the autumn 2002 picture on the left side of the screen. Click period costumes. Then click on the white dress with the pattern number on it. Mind you the sleeves will be more like the ones on the other dresses but the rest of the dress is what I will have.

Hello everyone else! Nice to see you all so active here.

Liadan I am still praying for your father. He will be fine given time. I pray that he is much better very soon.

Anduial that was a very nice poem. I really enjoyed it.

Hail to all Twilight people!
I wish to join your guild as everything you have said (especially what aduial wrote about a twilight person) is exactly how i would describe myself.
THe night is not an evil thing as you have said, and the stars and moon are not tidings of ill news. They are the places where I feel most relaxed.THe night is another world compared to daytime, and as I feel asif I do not belong to this world the night is as close as I can get to being in a different place.I think the quote from Tolkien 'I feel like butter spread too thin...' is exactly how I am.
I do not have any poem or a piece of writing to post yet but I would love it if you would accept me into your alliance.

love

^*^Violet^*^
XxXxXxXxX

Violet welcome to the Guild "Those of the Twilight". I hope you enjoy your stay with us. You do not have to have a poem for us in order to join. Several of us write and so it is fitting that we post what we wish to of those writtings. I would love to learn more about you such as what country you are from and if you are over 18 and what you love to do? That kind of thing. Share with us what you can but remember that the TOS will not let you tell us your age if you ar under 18.

~Vana~

Welcome, Violet, to the Twilight Guild! Wow so many members...that makes me so happy to see how many people really love the twilight.
Under members, would you like me to put the name "Violet" or your screenname?

Thank you Vanaladiel and Liadan. i just thought up that poem while on torc, actually. That dress is so pretty Vanaladiel! I can;t wait to see you there.
Merry Meet to all new members!! Blessed be to those of the Twilight, who behold the power of mysterious shadow.
There is one thing about me that sounds odd when I tell others... I like to hide. But when I say that, I don't mean from problems or things in life, I mean I love games like manhunt and hide-and-seek. I jsut love to do those types of things in the dark, and I am usually very good at it. I love anything like hiding places or secret passages.
love,
*Aduial*

Vanaladiel: Thou shalt look splendid! The dress is beautiful especially when I imagin the colors. I have thought of a dress design that I would like to make however I was wondering if thou couldst assist me... or just tell me if the dress is makable or not. My sister and I were going to make one.

Also, if many of us twilight lovers go to The Gathering we can all dance in the moonbeams and laugh with the stars! Do you think they would allow a Guild poem, one made by all of us together. I was thinking something about Arwen Evenstar, how she was born under the stars and and passed away under the same stars and moon... her life sort of reflecting the twilight... what do you guys think???

Blessed Be!

Liadan I think that is a great idea. They are having a peotry contest too so maybe we can enter it in there. I Love the idea, truly!

Thank you all for your compliments about my dress I just hope it is as pretty as I envision it being. I look so forward to seeing all of you as I can there. I know there willbe hundreds of people there so it may be hard to find ourselves but we shall find a way. Maybe just before we go we can come up with some way fo recognising each other. I know I will be carrying a long stem white rose.

Also I would love to see your dress ideas and maybe we can find a dress pattern that would make into it easily.

Well I do not even know if it is possible to make but this is how I imagin it... A milky whitish cream color with gold and silver trim. A cresent moon neckline with a strip of crescent moon patterns in gold and silver trim. A loose back drop and near the lower back clipped together with a moon pin. Fitted to the upper body yet flowing down the lower to the feet with a small trial. Long translucent sleeves topped with an indigo shawl. I'm not sure... that's just what I came up with...

Blessed Be!
