Update on my dad: He had two blockages. One was 80-85 % blocked and they put a stint in. The other was 90% blocked, but was so small they couldn't get the balloon in so they will treat it with medicine. They are monitoring him right now. Please continue to remember him in your prayers.
Praying for you all as always.
All bare are we, 'neath surgeon's knives,
a fight to save our too-brief lives,
our box of bones, our lump of clay,
which God delights in anyway.
For we are more than colored skin,
but vessels where God dwells within,
thus when these treasures knot with pain,
God aches and heaven weeps as rain.
We are surrendered, lying still,
that doctors, with their practiced skill,
lay open places that must be
repaired by human surgery.
Indeed! God's blade, that twin-edged thing,
that cannot help sometimes, but sting,
exposes all that needs to go,
and we, surrendered, come to know
that this is how God operates,
removing us from sinful states,
then using ways, like surgery,
brings healing, but not easily.
We shall uphold these surgeoned saints,
in honest prayers, and all complaints,
our anguished pleas, our wordless cries,
that thunder in our stormy skies.
Yet, when our sobs at last grow still,
we rest, surrendered, to His will.
Grateful for His
