Good to hear everything went well, minyacaliel. :)

What kind of animal is Pippin, tari? If you don't mind talking about him. ;)

Today I pampered the intern who even got some good work on the Internet page done.

Canny: Pippin's my guinea pig. :D He's a cute, blonde wee thing too. Although, he's just as cheeky as his name sake, and seems to love eating as much as him too. ;)

Clicky ;)

Today, I'm eating my favourite ginger snap biscuits. :) Then I'm going to stop being lazy and make something proper to eat. :P

my version of "Take on Me" (thanks for sticking that into my head, by the way) is on a best of album, so I quite like the rest, especially "Living Daylights" and "Cry Wolf".

Canamarth, that song does tend to get stuck, doesn't it? :) I found both Cry Wold and Living Daylights on youtube (as well a ton of others...including Take On Me :D) and really enjoyed them. I soon found myself looking up a bunch of old 80's groups, like Depeche Mode and Erasure (who I've always enjoyed)...then found Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer (I love the video!) in various live versions. Is it just me, or did he lip sinc on stage? Doesn't matter, it looked like a fun show.

Congrats on your new niece, Miny and Ani!!:yippie: Btw, Ani, how did your test go?

Tari, I'll wait for your reply, then try to make a post.... And what a cute pic of Pippin!! I remember him! :D

edit...I forgot to say what I did today!! :P I did my water aerobics, and got a great workout! ;)

oh the glorious things i do when i begin conversations about a-ha...

you should check out the video for "The Sun Always Shines on TV" right after "Take on Me." It's like a sequel...

and, in case that best of album does not have "Summer Moved On," listen to that. it holds the record for the longest note held in a Top 40 pop song. during it, the lead singer, Morten Harket, sustains a note for 20.2 seconds! That's over 2 seconds longer than Bill Withers in "Lovely Day" for a reference point...

I've heard that song, The Sun Always Shines On TV, but never saw the video...kinda sad that he turned back into a drawing and left her standing there. Some people, sheesh! ;)

Summer Moved On...what a pretty song! He does have a lovely voice, and held that note quite well. :)

that sounds like fun.....or not... :P

I love chicken quesadillas! But today, I'm popping some beef toquitos in the oven, along with some frozen fried clams. My son requested the clams. I've never cared for clams.

Today I had a good day in my Swedish class. :) I can't believe how easily everything came on to me, especially when I remember Tuesday and my difficulties to form any intelligent sentence.

Yavannië, keeping my fingers crossed for your exam and the inducement.

Congrats on your new niece, Miny and Ani!! Btw, Ani, how did your test go?

Thank you both!
The test was awful, as I had suspected. :| We were allowed to have notes with us, but the question was soooooo wide ("Attitude to Finnish in Estonia in the 1800s"); the whole course was about that! :Q
5 minutes before the test time ended, I realized I had only got one page written :|
I don't dare to hope for a good grade, but hopefully I'll pass. :)

Min:
I'm glad you had a good day in Swedish.

Today's Valentine's Day. Thank goodness in Finland it's "Friends's Day", not a day for snoging couples alone.

Today, I'm really happy! :D:D:D Not only did I go into school, but my Biology teacher announced that she is pregnant. :happydance::happydance::happydance: I love Mrs P to bits, and it's especially exciting news because she and her husband were originally told that they couldn't have children. Not only has she got two beautiful wee lassies, but she has a third on the way.

That's wonderful, babies are always wonderful! :)

Today I'm wee bit tired. I woke up at six am, and had pretty rough day at school. And how lucky am: I get to do learning-diaries and read school books all evening!

Congratulations on all the babies, born and unborn! :D

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Enjoy the day, whether with a partner or by yourselves. It's a day to indulge yourselves. :rose:

Today I have already had a beautiful Valentine's Day (for the first time, Mark and I said The Words - I love you).

80s muisc is great, if you ask me. Take On Me is one of the very best, most definitely! I have been looking for a collection that includes all the hits of the 80s (and is affordable at the same time).

Today I managed to have pretty good writing day. I'm pretty satisfied what I wrote, which is rare. Obviosly tired and frustrated mind is best mood for writing. :)

Today is WIIIIINDY windy windy...but at least it's not cold. :)

I'm happy to see everyone having a good day (even considering all the school book reading...blekk!). Maybe it's all the talk of babies and music of the 80's and all such happy things! :D

Thanks, Miny and Tras. :D Whenever I wanted to say the words, I choked up and decided not to because I would have just burst out in tears instead. :P I was saving it for next time we see each other, but he got ahead of me and said the words first. I am not complaining.

Today I managed to finish knitting Mark's hat after all. I got another ball of wool - luckily the same I needed. I like the hat so much that I think I shall make one exactly like it for myself. :D

Aww, Silwen, that's so sweet! May you and Mark have many more Valentine's Days together.

Today, I got in from work, and there was a beautiful white teddy bear waiting for me. Turns out that it was a Valentine's present from my father - the very first that I have ever received.

Thank you, Tari, I hope so too!

Teddybears are lovely anyway! :D And you deserve a Valentine's Day gift too. So does everybody, in my opinion. :)

Today I can't wait to go on reading Fire and Hemlock. I am almost done because I read so much of it last night. I can't wait to find out how it goes on. I am glad I got it because if people hadn't recommended it, I would never have picked it up at all.

Today I am really angry about the majority of people always speaking badly of Valentine's Day and thus making it hard for those of us who like the day to really enjoy it. Luckily my anger only began to surface today so that yesterday was a wonderful time. :D But today I feel like I need to rant about it. It's a good occasion and if people can't help but let themselves be pressured by society (read: by themselves and others like them), then that's not a good sign. But at least they could keep it to themselves till it's over, or preferably forever. I think what you do or not on Valentine's Day should be as private as religion - keep your opinion to yourself unless you can impart it moderately. Some of us like to mark the day and not even notice there is an apparently greatly commercialised aspect of it (since that part is easily ignored).

Silwen: when you really love someone, you don't really need a valentine's day to show it. but it is a nice occasion to do something special, since spontaneously doing something nice for someone happens far too less. So i agree with you that everyone should decide for themselves what to do on such a day. (that doesn't mean i'm suddenly all for it, i still despise the commercialised aspect, but the day should be about love and if it is, there is nothing wrong with that)

today i had an important meeting with a customer (or potential customer) for the first time and i didn't screw it up. Now i can happily start the assignement as soon as we get the green light.

I didn't know that!
So, today I learnt what the topic of the Today-thread is. :D

Also, were I still working at the high school, the time I got home this morning would have been just in time to start going to work.
Haven't been out that long with my choir ever before. :D

Silwen, that's lovely news!
