Tooks... How did your softball team do?

erm.... Lost today. :P We're out of it. :P
And wouldn't you know, the last game of the year I get a line drive to the shin.   It didn't hurt, but of course it all swelled up. I've been icing it of course. Hurts a bit now. :P :P

I'm sure I'll be completely recovered for Spring training.... 8)

Oooo....so I DO get to have an egg roll. Or the Vulcan equivalent. Kewl!!!
:D:D:D:D:D:D

Hey, it was the best I could do in a hurry, I was nearly late for church . . . ;) I'm bad, I know. :D

Scribbles took the Ambassador's proferred hand and rose gracefully to her feet, then sketched a deep, respectful bow to the Vulcan. As she straightened, she answered his smile with one of her own . . .

"I would be most honoured to agree to a 'draw', Ambassador. In all fairness, you have learned a few new forms that are most interesting and I'll welcome the opportunity to see them again. However, perhaps without the benefit of fruit peelings underfoot . . . "

She sheathed her weapon carefully and trooped off after the others, wondering if the comparable 'joint' would have anything comparable to Harlindon Clearwater . . . ;)

Ack a line drive in the shin! Ouch, I remember those! I also remember my softball coach jumping up and down and screaming "put your glove down you moron, YOUR GLOVE!! You know that padded thing meant for catching balls?!!" She was a tad excitable, what can I say? ;) Take care of that shin Tooks, I bet the bruise is going to be beeeyooootiful. ;)

Calma, a whole day off!! Now, I know laundry is a pain, but you could always read or do something relaxing just for you between loads, no? I'd rather do laundry than scrub floors or vacuum, believe me. Hard to read or cross stitch with your hands in soapy water or full of a humming hose . . . :D

*sigh* Yet another cool, damp day. groans . . . I'll NEVER get the deck surface re-stained at this rate! Ah well, maybe it should just wait for that first hot weekend in the spring . . . good way to get a jump on my tan next year. Or, maybe not.

Hey! My glove was down to catch the stoofpid ball. The ball just managed to get to my shin before the glove did. :P

Yes...it looks loverly. Just wait a few days when gravity starts to pull the swelling down to my ankle, along with all the black and blueness. :P

*sigh*

I'm asking for more money in next years contract.

Oh right. We don't get paid for this.

I did laundry today too. And some ironing, since I prefer cotton for my Hawaiian shirts. 8)

To add insult to injury, the field was covered in goose poop. About 200 stofid geese spent the morning out on the field.

It rather stank out there too. *sigh*

And I needed a painkiller this morning. Had to hobble about a bit until I worked the stiffness outa the leg.

Wonder if I could wear shin guards next year.....

My head feels like it's been drinking. but alas, has not. Big fat headache this morning. I am thinking a lack of decent sleep headache. Too much brain thinking about new job and csary scary change. Therefore no sleep. Though I must have been as loud beeping alarm clock woke me this morning and I am usually awake before the stoopfid thing!

drags her sorry butt into the TVM or the Vulcan Garden or the crossroads . . . yah, just pick one, I'm too tired . . . ;)

Oi, Monday . . .

Well, it's official, I think the graphics card in my home computer has bought the big electronic farm in the sky. *sigh* The monitor suddenly started blacking out a week or so ago, usually after a half an hour and a huge, unsaved Word document . . . Which would be okay except it kept freezing up my system, so no save, no log off, no shutdown, just loss of everything.

I brought my office laptop home and my monitor is working just fine with it, but with my big, shiny, fast and powerful home tower? Goose poop . . . ;):P:D

Anyhoooo, just want to let y'all know that I might be scarce for a few days or more. Must get a new graphics card in the home tower and see if that truly is the problem. Keep all yer fingers and toes crossed for me, that it's not a deeper problem with the main system . . .

Just please remember to at least toss the Scribe in the cargo hatch before y'all launch for the Panama Canal, okay?

Your going to Panama? Thats an interesting choice.....Sorry I've missed most of Vulcan, things be hectic, don't ya know. Maybe I'll come out of the luggage compartment in Panama.

NL....you are going to do great! Hoping and praying your transition is smooth!

Also hoping Scribbles problem is easily solved, and that Calma gets rest, and that Rowanberry's Tuesday is better than her monday.....and Tooks shin heals nicely.

I'm into the fourth day of a five day full time shift at a soil clean up site, and I can't wait till Thursday! I don't work full time normally, so this is really messing things up with the family and such, but everyone is pulling their weight, which is good. I just have a whole bunch of mother guilt going on.....which I hate. I'm really in over my head here....and to think I make the main decisions at this site at the moment is just a laugh....but I'm managing. But, I can get some of my other work done here, and an occasional post at this place. But, now it's time to put on the hard hat and walk the site, and make sure the construction dudes are doing their thing. Thankfully they are all good guys and gals.

Oh....and our bay window is in!!!! :) Randy put it in this weekend and it's just beautiful. Still need to replace the siding, and redo the sheet rock inside, but it looks just great. My friend is coming over Thursday morning to help me relandscape the front of the house, and it should look awesome next year. Now I must think of the right window treatment for it, and I am at a loss. Hopefully one of my creative friends will be able to point me in the right direction there.

Well, time to get HHH. (Hard Hat Hair....I hate HHH)

Have a great day!!!!!

Wenchie, just what do you do at a 'soil clean up site'? Wash dirt???

Construction dudes, eh? That brought to mind our old friend Transmission Dude.... 8)

Okay, Scribbles has hardware issues, Wenchie has hardhat issues... I'm going to get the coil set up for our next trip. Let's stock up on some of that Vulcan port. Don't put it in the hold with Scribbles though...

Three days to go, nl... Time's getting shorter by the minute, eh?
Do you start your new job next Monday? Or do you have a few days off before you jump in?

*puts a pillow beneath Scribbles' head and quietly closes the door of the hold*

OH, I like the hat, we would all look very cool in that hat. :)

It's over!!!! I now completely understand why I don't want to go full time at the moment....ecck! And, when you spend more time with the technical crew at the company, you hear all the rumors and such, and frankly, I like not knowing these things. But, I have been hearing some stuff lately that has had me uncomfortable, and I finally got the phone call I was dreading on Tuesday. Turns out the lady whose place I'm taking as manager of this large project has decided to move on.....and wants me to take it over for good.

I respectfully declined, kind of, for many good reasons, saying I'll stay on in the capacity that I am, but won't write the final report. She understood, and we are going to figure something out, but since this is a HUGE engineering job, an engineer or at least someone who's been on the site for the duration of the project should do the writing . I may end up co -writing it with a co-worker who's moving to New Zealand in the beginning of October. He knows the site backwards and forward. Technology is amazing, and he would do the main writing from Christ Church and I would pull together what he needs back at the office and just do review. Should be interesting. Anyway....now I can focus on all the other projects I've put to the wayside.

And focus on the kids more.....they only have one more week till they go back to school.

WAVES to Rwhen :hihi:

Calma....glad you have the weekend off!

well I have had two going away lunches this week. One on wednesday with work friends outside my dept and yesterdays lunch was just for my dept. I had pan fried salmon on a bed of asian veges in soy sauce and Baileys Creme brulee for dessert.

Today we are having a retirement party for my current supervisor. So my dept is now housing 3 noobies!
