PARTY TIME!!!

Image

Lunch sounded good, nl.
And boy howdy do I know about noobs....
My place now has five noobies and since Dawn didn't show up this morning, we are now in the process of finding number six.
It's not a job you can get rich on, but sheesh, it's a job. If you find you can't do it, at least give us some notice. It's not easy doing the work of a residential aide when you're short one. And this chick spent all last Thursday griping because they had to work one short. Boy, some peoples children.

NL....hope your last day was good, and you enjoy the next week! :)

Calma.....I was going through my purse at work here, looking for a phone number I needed, and I found this little appointment reminder for the dentist. On it was a picture of a squirrel using dental floss....and I thought of you. I cut it out and it now is sitting in front of me, at my work station. :D (can you tell I'm distracted at work today? I've got a pile of work and I don't want to do it. :) I'm even posting in Manwe  ) So....I'll just look at the squirrel....using dental floss. Its very cute.

I saw another story about those spiders....GACK! *shudders*

I forgot to wave to Rowanberry.... :hihi: ( I like this wavey guy.)

I found a monarch caterpillar today! I was working in my raspberry patch after work today, pulling huge weeds and using the lopers to cut small tree seedlings out of it. I have neglected so much in the last few years that the raspberry crop was small this year, so it needs some tender loving care. Anyway, one of the many weeds growing there is tons of milkweed. And as I was pulling it I found the caterpillar. He was just there, all big and fat and yellow and black. So, we have it in a small hexagonal aquarium in the middle of our dining table (with milkweed for food)...so we can watch it become a butterfly! My daughter told me that since it's already in the "J" shape it will be a chysalis soon. Actually, it woke up and is now eating, but it's lethargic, so it won't be long. Very cool!! :) I love this stuff.

Hehehe, I love the :hihi: guy my ownself . . . :D

nl, I hope you enjoy the weekend immensely and then have an exciting and wonderful start in your new job . . . And yes! I was looking at the calendar and thinking back to that most wonderful, WONDERFUL day we spent in Calgary a year ago. Remember the Moose!! :lmbo: That day at Heritage Park with you will always be, until the day I die, one of my BEST and most fond memories. Thank you ever so much for taking time out of your holiday and hanging out with an old fart for a day . . .

Oi Calma, it just gets better and then worse doesn't it? I hope things settle down for you at work very, very soon. :)

There's a MoMe prep thread already???? sorry, but my muse just keeled over in a dead faint. ;)

Gee, my friend and I saw a FAT yellow and black catepiller on our walk today Gamgee Wench. I wonder if it was a Monarch? What a cool project too, to watch the little 'pilller turn into the butterfly. Will you take pictures? :)

rwhen, thank you darlin'. I took today off to get a four day weekend, so I plan to enjoy, yes! Hopefully, we'll get sunny weather so I can get our deck surface stained before the winter rolls in. ;)

*shudder* I don't ever want to be within 50 miles of the spider or family of spiders that can spin webs like that . . . gaaaah . . .

And now for the Quick Update: Thank the good lord but I think my tower and graphics card are ok, the monitor appears to be the culprit. Which is okay, I was hoping to upgrade to a nice BIG monitor anyway (I have very poor eyesight sooooo . . . do the math . . . ;) ) Anyyyyyway, my computer and monitor are 'resting' at the Cyber Hospital until after the Labour Day weekend and thank heaven that I thought "worst case scenario" and brought my office laptop home for the weekend . . .

OoooooOOO. Da Wench is hatching a flutterby!!! ;)

Okey dokey. We seem to have by-passed the giant spider webs and have made it almost to Panama. Y'all behave. :club:

I'm going to try to land right by the visitor center so we can all get 'oriented'.

Scribbles, you aren't old at all!! and I was so glad you came all the way from Edmonton to visit wuth me at the old time park. It was fun. It was like meeting up with a kindred spirit (to get all Anne of Green Gables on you).

thanks for the kind words about MOME opening. I just stole the Council speech and tweaked it a bit. More like mangled a lot... still it made my lasy day at work more fun.

I got season 2 of Grey's Anaotmy as my going away gift and had one drunken co-worker ask me if I had a boyfriend! yikes, got away from him quite quick. where's Mal when I need him??

so off to ski for 2 days tomorrow with the folks and friends. Be back thursday. Don't leave Panama without me, 'kay?

be good, if you can! ;)

Rats. There goes a good way of raising funds for the next destination. Maybe we'll just raise a little heck instead? ;)

nl, you're a sweetie, I'm older than dirt but my brain just hasn't caught on to the fact yet. And I'm not in a hurry to make it catch on, either . . . ;) Now, you travel safe and come home the same way, yes? Hmmmm, maybe the workmate had to have a drink or two to get brave enough to ask you the 'boyfriend' question. He might be a sweet guy, unless he's married or a total creepola of course. ;) Anyway, have a great time away!

(_/_) (_|_) (_\_)

Older than dirt indeed! I won't be that old until next year. :thppt:

And I think we should make holby a cabana boy. He can serve us drinks as we pass leisurely along the canal. 8)

Will the "kidnapping" rule still apply if it's holby? I mean, c'mon, he just admitted he's not a kid and if anyone can handle being kidnapped and held hostage it's him. ;) Maybe if we ply him with enough rum? =:) :evilaugh:

Panama looks interesting....should be a nice tour of the canal. And Holby's the cabana boy? A good choice...... :) And all this talk of age is depressing....so knock it off! :x 8)

OK, so I learned that my kids really, really, don't like to be woken up by their mother singing the "HI HO" song from Sleeping Beauty. Talk about a bunch of grouches. Sheesh. At least it was a new song!

(and is "woken" a real word? If it isn't, it should be)

Waves to Holby... :hihi: ( I really like this little guy)

OK....gotta run....

Kidnapping? Us?
Just because we tied holby up in a sack until we were safely on our way? 8)
And he hasn't complained about having to drink the rum. ;)

Wench, sure 'woken' is a real word. At least it doesn't get a scriggly underline in MS Word. :D

Yep, kidnapping holby is just the thing to do. :D

BTW, it was fun to watch the panoramas of the Visitor Center; in one of the paintings/murals in the ground floor, one of the people looked a lot like Urho Kekkonen, one of our former Presidents... :P

Ok, I'll go along with the plot to kidnap holby. :evilaugh:
There's plenty of room in the hold and he seems to be getting along with the pirates....
(shrugs) It could be the never empty bottle of rum, but who knows...

And just what is all this talk about age and dirt and which is older? :?
I just don't get it...

Cool virtual tour, Tooks... :D
And Rowan, who knows, maybe your former President did help build the Canal or a relative maybe or just a very close resemblance.

GW, if you woke me up with "Hi-Ho" I'd have thrown something at ya.
Just get them an alarm clock. Maybe one with the Dwarves on it. <snerk>
But you sound like a fun mom all the same. One that would fit right in with my mangy bunch. :D

Scribbles, good thing you thought ahead and brought the laptop home. When my 'puter went to the 'puter hospital, I was forced to share with my husband... :Q I couldn't be on all evening just browsing about the net then watching some tv then going back to the 'puter. I nearly went coo-coo!!!

Hope nl is having a great time skiing. I can water ski, but, for some reason, I just never wanted to learn to snow ski.

I'm hungry...
*wanders into the kitchen to rustle up some grub for the scurvy lot of ya.*

Let's see..over the last 7 years I have been....

Thwacked
Slapped
Had ice water dumped on me
Been locked in a trunk
Made to wear dresses
Forcibly infested with raccoons
Force fed vile cookies
Half eaten by a shark
Bashed
Trashed
Dashed
Teased
Squeezed
Pleased
Dumped
Trumped
Hrrrumphed
Hughed
Viggoed
Pixied

Now to be kidnapped and forced into indentured servitude.

Ok

As long as there is
salaciousness
bawdiness
and babez. :P

Yes he is quite a pirate, but Bill Nighy (Davey Jones) was my favorite. He is such a good actor.

Pitate? Is that like, a female potato with an eyepatch . . .? :P =:) :D

I'll take the young, virile Captain Jack over the scruffy, dirty, old Barbossa any day. And Davey Jones . . . *shudder* . . . a living beard? No thank you. It's bad enough when men have things living IN their beards, but one with a life of it's own? Ya . . . I think not. ;)

Well, the Labour Day long weekend draws to a close. On the good side, we had absolutely PERFECT weather and I got a nice balance of relaxation and needed chores done. On the down side, this weekend pretty much represents the end of true summer. *sigh* Hopefully, we'll get a nice long Indian Summer . . . 8)

And now, off to the sleepy place, for tomorrow, it's back to work. Unless you're poor Calma, who has a jump on the rest of us.

Ooo, and I found out on Friday that my monitor may still be under a "full replacement" warranty! Which means, if it's truly broken, I can ship it back to Dell and get a replacement FREE! Well, for the cost of shipping . . . but hey, I can live with that. ;)

:hihi: just because it's unwise to buck the majority . . . (and I happen to like him too . . . ;) )
