Ok so here is the deal.

About 5 years ago I had my eyes checked and I was given a perscription for reading glasses.

The dude says, "When people get to be "your age" the eyes tend to warp a bit and it becomes difficult to see things close up".

Baloney !!

Guy had no clue what he was talking about. Your age...why I oughtta...
I have perfect eyes and require no glasses whatsoever.

All I need to do is squint a bit, because I read too much and my eyes get tired.

Well I filled the perscription only because I have free eyecare, and most certainly not because I have old eyes and need glasses to read..

Now here is the problem. When I read too much, my cheeks get tired from doing just a tiny bit of squinting, which I have to do because I have "tired" eyes. Yeah that's it tired eyes.

I do occasionally put the glasses on because I look stylish with them on.

Image

Yeah that's it...stylish.

Only problem is, from the squinting and the "tired" eyes, it tends to put pressure on my brain and I sometimes forget things. Like where those glasses are.

So if you ever see me misspell something, it is because my eyes are tired, my cheeks are tired, my brain is fuzzy and I can't find my glasses that I really don't need but make me look stylish.
Yeah that's it. Stylish.

Quite frankly I don't think it has anything to do with the eyes being warped....

I implicitly said stylish. 8)
Not dorky !! :x

To use the word stylish and any of those glasses in the same sentece is blasphemy.

Not to mention the geeks under them.

Fool of a Tooks. :P

And just what are you implying Calma?
Hmmm?

Are you suggesting there is another part of my anatomy that is warped?

Hmmm?

:P

Let's see...NL won't be back for a couple of days. She's off playing in that "white stuff".

Wouldn't it be just awful if someone short-sheeted her bed or put some creepy crawlies in there whilst she was away?

Hello rwhen, long time no see.
I blame Tooks for that, and pretty much most things that run afoul. :P

sneaks stealthily into NL's room
shades eyes from disturbing life sized poster of Eric "blech" Bana
proceeds to infest room with various unseemly critters of a decidedly unsavory nature
chuckles with glee and flees room in a twinkling

Oh you need more drinks?
Pardon me for being slow on the uptake.
I forgot how thirsty you get.

boy? I'll give her boy and how

Did someone say clambake?

Seems to me I have participated in both real and virtual clambakes a time or two.

Of course mostly what I remember about them is beautiful bikinis and one that was *ahem* leopard print.

Do I get to participate in said clambake, other than to wipe the butter dripping from Tooks' chin?

Will there be mooosic?
Sweeeet mooosic?

This should keep everyone wet for a few minutes at least.
Easy on the Patron Tooks. It may make you a bit loopy....err wait....nevermind.

Hey. I recognize that parrot!!! :D

He's my avatar at TOB. :thppt:

Sure you can partake of the clambake, holby, but you have to eat between serving drinks. And this year my (virtual) bikini is hawaiian print.

Hmmmm.... moosic. That's a good idea. Where's my pirate cd?

:lmbo:

How did that turn out????

Yea. As for the clambake, Calma ISN'T in charge of making the coffee.

Yep, I saw the Bard in the 2000 thread. He was in Peru the same time we were!!! We somehow missed him. ;)

I love a good screw up, don't you?
I suppose if you had no compulsion about slurping it off the counter or floor, then it was ok. :D
And as long as I don't have to wash the dishes, I'm good with it. :D

If we had known he was there, we would have found him.
Or set the Scribe on the hunt for him.

Clambakes? That reminds me of that horrible song with the worst lyrics ever from the musical "Carousel". My least favorite song from my least favorite musical. (I should sing it to the kids!)

Rwhen, over the years, the kidlets have woken up to many different tunes, but my all time favorite is "Old Man River" from Showboat. I sing it loud, and in good deep voice, and I can get about halfway through the second verse before the shoes and pillows come flying at me. :D (Oh what a beautiful morning is another goodie, and many popular songs that my kids hate to hear their mom butcher)

Man, you guys post too quick! I can't keep up.

OK, first, Holby does indeed look stylish! 8) Very classy dude. And as for doctors saying "At your age"........well, I've lectured a few doctors in the past year or so about using that phrase. But, they happen to be honest and terribly blunt doctors. Fortunately, they are also good doctors, so I forgive their lack of bedside manner.

Calma....back in my waitressing days, I made coffee many times without a pot. :D

OK, lots more to say and stuff, and I want to post some pictures of this very cool caterpillar...who is now in a chysalis! I'll post some when I have some time. Life is so freaking busy right now, and well, it's just nuts. I just seem to be treading water right now, but it will slow down.....I think.

I'll have a virgin margarita, and maybe the cabana boy could get me a nice fan or something? Too much? :)

Tripus interuptus?

Oh and here is the "virgin" margarita.

When I take you out, tonight, with me,
Honey, here's the way it's goin' to be:
You will set behind a team of snow white horses,
In the slickest gig you ever see!

Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry
When I take you out in the surrey,
When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top!
Watch that fringe and see how it flutters
When I drive them high steppin' strutters.
Nosey pokes'll peek thru' their shutters and their eyes will pop!

Wow! What a nice way to start the day....fans, drink, and a song from Oklahoma? :? OK, I'll take it. :D

Tooks, that big scary mod with the teeth has shown up.....I'll let you take care of it. I'll bet he was a cute baby, that mod.

And.....Holby has given me a wonderful idea...How about a rousing chorus of "OKLAHOMA" to wake them today? ( Seriously creating future therapy moments here I think. :D )

The tree dude is coming so I must make myself presentable....which takes a while. Our huge maple in the front of our house is very sick, and we are doing one last ditch drastic trim in hopes of saving it. Not sure it will work, but it's over 70' high and was beautiful, so we want to try.

Have a great day......
