Oh my!

I most humbly apologize for bringing show tunes into a fine thread. The kids truly didn't like waking up to "OKLAHOMA!", but that just made it more fun....mwhahahahahahah.

I think the fact that two of them had friends over might have upset them.

But those kids know me well and say I'm weirder than their mom (which is saying a lot!).
Don't worry Holby....your not a windbag...just a bag.
OK....the tree dude came today, and started the major trim. He soon came down from the bucket and asked if we could talk. Turns out there really is no saving this huge tree, and all he would be doing by trimming it is putting a bandaide on it, and then it would probably die next year. All his men agreed, and I know he was right. We discussed the disease it has, the insects infesting it, etc. He basically said he didn't want to waste our money on the trim, which is pricey, only to come out next year to cut it down for good.

It was such a huge beautiful tree.....but I know he's right. The cost to cut this monster down is huge too....but it would be huge either way, and he is saving us money in the long run. We've shopped this around all summer and know he's the right guy to do it. I'm sad.
So, our beautiful maple, that turned such gorgeous colors in the fall, will come down next week. My husband is on the front steps right now, looking at it, he's so bummed. I feel like we are mourning a friend. I love tree's.
But we will have wood for the woodstove for five years! One little positive.
