Today I am making dinner. My hands hurt from peeling so many potatoes. Homemade potato salad. :D

Silwen: I think recently some people have come up with different ideas on how to make it. I'm using the non-alcoholic version - here's one recipe: http://www.accenttheparty.com/party-blo ... tick-picks

Here's another: http://www.mugglenet.com/misc/rosmertas ... beer.shtml

You can also add honey to the recipe. Or, if you want to make it with alcohol, swap the ginger beer/cream soda for butterscotch Schnapps. :D

EDIT: I made the second recipe. It's really, really sweet. I used toffee sauce as I couldn't find butterscotch sauce anywhere. The thing said to use half a cup of the syrup but I would say maybe a quarter of a cup. I'll try the top one later on - I think that would probably be the better of the two. :)

Thanks for that, Tari! It sounds fun so I may give it a go sometime.

Today I am up early and I can't have breakfast because I have a fasting blood test at 10:30. Argh!

Hope the blood test went well.

Today, I wish I was going to Oxford. One of the girls that are going has been texting me and has been making me feel really nostalgic. Give everyone big hugs from me please, Silwen!

Okay, I shall try and remember! :D I have to do that from you and Canamarth as well. ;) Perhaps I will go to Yo Sushi for a takeaway after all - my gallstones aren't happy lately so a pie at the pub is not really an option.

Today I have to go to M&S to return the belt I bought. I shall see if there is a better one, but it is not that important.

And give Inzilbeth an extra big hug from me, please! She is the dark-haired, Scottish girl. I'll text you to remind you. ;)

And bring me back some sushi too. :P

Today I am going to go to the pub later with my friends. Surprise, surprise.

Just Leaving a Little Something

The door was open...just a crack...
and I shall not be often back,
so I though something pleasant left,
would ease the atmosphere I've cleft.
A little box, with Parmish charm,
thus, there should not be much alarm,
for scribed along the side, this line:
open wide for fragrance fine.
You may smell newly-gathered hay,
washed wet from April rains, they say;
you may smell bubble-gum or jam,
or chowders made from cream and clam,
you may have scents of books and ink,
a fragrance for some folks, I think;
but close it tight, and count to three,
then set loose olfactoral glee.
This gift I leave, blessed with a kiss,
for friends I love, and truly miss.

Blessings,
Parm :)
I love the worldI am in...

Today I am listening to "This Year's Love" by David Gray on repeat.

Parm, it is very good to see you again!

Today I returned the belt I bought - and brought home a dress instead. I couldn't resist because dresses for me are hard to find. This one is lovely though I wish it had more colour. Still, it looked good on me and it was £20 cheaper than at the start of the season. I want to wear it to Oxford tomorrow. :D Here it is.

It is very nice, Silwen! :D

Today I am back from a wee night out. My friends and I sat outside my house for about an hour eating Chinese and having a laugh which was maybe a bit too boisterous for the neighbours and the poor dog that wandered past with its owner that one of my friends started barking at. :P

I'm sorry you couldn't make it, tar. :( It was a good moot and I met a few faces I hadn't seen before. I didn't stay too long in the end because I was very tired. In the morning Mark and I had already done some sightseeing and the part of the pub we mooted in was a conservatory and very hot. Coupled with the alcohol, I was very drowsy after some hours.

Next year it will be the 10th Oxford moot and I hope I can manage to be there again.

Today I am still very tired.

Glad that you enjoyed yourself, Silwen. I'll also try and attend next year.

Today I've been reading fanfiction for the better part of the day. :)

Today I am a little bored, but since i have no energy anyway, that's fine. I may spend the rest of the day watching Buffy episodes. I am making my way through all the series. It is much better in English than in German, I realised.

Today I downloaded the soundtrack of one of my favourite films: Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. 26 songs. :Q It really is an unusual soundtrack, being mixed with classical, metal and techno arrangements. Brilliant, though. :D

Today I have time to job hunt again and get my health sorted. Yesterday I finished my index for my book so I am freeeeee! :D Maybe I shall go for a nice walk later. UNfortunately, I spent all of our weekly food budget on meals for the week (as I should), so now I have no money to go visit my friends' new cafe. :(

Oh, bummer. I hope you get to go soon! But kudos on getting your index sorted! :D

Today I received an unexpected postcard through the door from the Oxford moot!!

Yay! :D Glad it arrived! I did sign it, didn't I? If not, I just wrote a little message on a card to someone entirely different and called them by your name.

Today I have almost eaten a whole melon.

Yes, you did sign it! :D It was squashed in at the bottom. But surely there is only one me - two would be downright frightening. But thanks. Made me feel as if I was there. :D

Today I had a driving lesson and did a reverse park manoeuvre without killing anyone! :D

Yes, I do. :D

I've still to sit mine - but it's unlikely I'm going to past my driving test before September anyway, so I really don't know if it is worth sitting it.

Today I am going to work some extra shifts next week. I really need more money than the £14 sitting in my bank account to do me for the next two weeks. :P

I know the feeling... I haven't looked at my account in a while, but I really should. I am trying not to spend anything at all for now, which is hard! When I bought the dress last week, I had no intention of spending any money either. Oops. But I had to do it for Oxford! ;)

Today I am sitting here waiting for a parcel that will probably not arrive before the afternoon.

I seen a picture of you! From what I saw of the dress, it was really nice. And you and Mark look great together!

Today I was woken up twice by the postman: once at 8am to take in a package for my mum and then again at 11.30 for the normal postman. Now I am eating a bar of Dairy Milk to get over the trauma. :P

I posted a pic of the dress somewhere, but don't remember where. Here it is again. I don't believe it! They lowered the price even further! Grrr! Ah well. I really like the dress though. :D

Today I applied for a web content editor job. No idea if I have a chance!

Ah, yes, I remember it now! :D

Keeping my fingers crossed. :D

I remember ages ago I bought a new dress from Jane Norman online and the next day it was on sale at half-price. The dress didn't fit and I had to take it back. :(

Today I am eating Love Hearts.

Today I am going to make fondue for dinner and I have had to make the garlic sauce for it twice because the first batch was really awful. Ick. :P Had to get the ingredients again before I could try again.

Oooh, that sounds really nice! :D Do you have a tabletop stove thing?

Today I went to the park with my friends and I had two ice cream cones and a McDonalds. Going to see Toy Story 3 tomorrow! :D

Yep, I got the fondue set on my last birthday and love using it. :D So far I haven't set fire to anything. ;)

Today I will finish off a proofreading job, do some shopping and watch some more Buffy. I am currently going through all the episodes because Mark has collected them and I never really watched the series. I like it and it is much better than in German.

Today I got my medicine cheaper than usual. :D Yay! That is an improvement to the last time I bought it and the packet, though unopened, had no contents at all. :? Luckily, I was given a replacement the next day without problems. :D
