we've sent invitations to approximately 80 people

checks mailbox for invite... ;) :D

hmmmmpf! email is still dead as a door-nail. Hope nothing urgent is in there...it will probably go off before my provider..er provides.

I think me telling the assistant that the boss requires a phone call to apporve overtime has gotten her up to speed. I doubt she will stay late today or tomorrow as she now has no need. 3 hrs overtime though so far this week. I did ask her yesterday how she was going and her answer was "getting there." Does she actually think these asnwers are useful? Good think I can check up on her.
Sheesh! my other boss and co-worker have also noticed how slow she is but since we are hored and paid by another dept, they can't really chime in.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm cookies and another captive! goes to get a coffee...

Waves to everyone.....and a howdy to Lee! Welcome to insanity. 8)

A Star Trek month? Or just a Kirk month? Actually, I wouldn't mind extending Muppet month since I've been here so infrequently, but that is just my dumb luck. Seems just when one thing ends, another begins.
I'm with Solyn here....I can't believe May is almost over.

And....I got a call from my brother yesterday asking about our trip to Maine to visit he and my sister in law. :? Oops. I completely forgot we were going to head to Maine sometime this summer, I can barely handle the months of May/June, let alone plan ahead. He wanted to know dates, so he can plan all these activities....yeeesh. Told him I'd get back to him. :) He's never had kids so he doesn't understand sometimes. All his stepkids were grown when he married.

I'm going to read all of Roses and Rowanberry's graduation plan posts....I want to do something nice for my son, but he doesn't want anything. I think a picnic the second weekend of July is going to be the ticket. I'll invite some friends, and any family that wants to make the trip, but I don't expect people to travel that far for such things. Maybe I'm underplaying this a bit....but that is kind of how my family is, understated. Not sure why. My neice just graduated from Rutgers....and I haven't heard a word from my brother about it. I will send her a nice present but my family just is like this....very strange. I sometimes think of Garrison Keillors description of the people in Lake Wobegon....everything low key. That's us. :)

Hi Scribbles and Dubs....because I think I forgot you again. Sorry.....and I state a howdy to everyone by name, but I'll forget more people and I don't want to do that. So....once you've been caught in this thread, you are a Tookie. (not to be confused with a Wookie, unless you are very hairy  ) I slay me, I do.

OK...I have today off....so I'm off to run errands. It's nice and rainy, which will keep me in the house. And maybe posting a bit!

Thank you GW. I've always been a nutterbutter, but have, in the past, only selectively allowed the voices in my head to control my keyboard. I'm afraid they maybe taking over. I don't plan on increasing my medication. This is too much fun :D

As for Captain of the month, I like it. Kirk's my favorite, but I agree, Janeway could beat them all!

Whimp.

At least we're not asking you to participate in Man of Star Trek Month!

GW: Spock was also captain in the other movies and, if you really want to get technical, anyone who commands a ship, depsite their rank, was called captain. (This came out during DS9 and the Dominion Wars).

I was never a Star Trek captains nut. I prefered some of the other characters like Bones, Sulu and Chekov. I even had a signed photo of Chekov when I was a kid.

Janeway was a female captain of one of the spin off shows.

Didn't Sulu get to be a captain at some point? In one of the movies?

ah..yes..
He is promoted to captain and given command of the USS Excelsior three years before the events of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Vana, you don't have it anymore? It's probably worth money now!!

I have...lessee...LeVar Burton, Majel Barrett (very friendly), Brent Spiner, Patrick Stewart, Cirroc Lofton (friendly, talkative, cute), John Billingsly (extremely funny), Tim Russ (rather tired but very polite), Kate Mulgrew (she was really, really interesting!) and Avery Brooks (smoooooth man).
