Gwen, for now I downloaded a trial version of Corel Painter. I might do the same with Photoshop, if that's a possibility. It's very nice, having such an amount of brushes and other options to choose from. I should learn to put less pressure on the pen though - after only one week I already had to replace the nib.
Ture, so good to see you here!
:D:D It was very nice talking to you too.
Congrats on getting your evenstar(s)!!

Ah, don't I know that feeling! Having big plans to really make some progress on the writing front, even looking forward to it, and in the end I get distracted by a million things (on my computer). And then I feel so bad about myself afterwards.
So I went looking for a couple of tricks to help me and, so far *fingers crossed*, they seem to work.
One of them is using my netbook when I want to get some writing done. I have only a minimum of software installed there, compared to my fully equiped computer. Or I use pen and paper, even.
Another problem I have is that I can find myself really commited to write, but that the right words don't come right away, and once again I get distracted. I've discovered that timed writing helps me there to get me started. Starting of with telling myself to keep concentrated and type for only 10 minutes, however bad it is, then I can do something else for a little while before the next session (I also use this trick to get me started with cleaning somethimes, btw
). It sometimes happens that I only need one session or two, to find myself on a roll. Deluding thyself helps, thus.
And when I have a hard time choosing between watching telly and plotting, I take the note/netbook with me to the couch - even if I don't get many new ideas written down that way, it's still more than when I wouldn't have bothered to multitask at all.
New story ideas for your character sound lovely and very promissing.
Hi to all. Hope you're all doing well.
