Galenmir, I'm glad you understand... :D

I tried to teach Éomer philosophy,
Our class fell apart with velocity.

Kant's Critique of Pure Reason
Became a boutique of pure squeezin'.

Greek thought ended bitterly,
When he took "Platonic Love" literally.

Glistening sweat and manly preening
Derailed Sartre's search for higher meaning.

Cartesian "mind & body" duality
Was conquered by Éadig carnality.

My brain now lies unused and fallow,
Except to create this verse most shallow.

And HOW am I going to be able to follow THAT??? *sigh* I managed to avoid philosophy in college, except in all those Russian Lit classes.....

Dont know much about philosophy,
And I failed statistics colossally.
Chemistry always gave me fits.
Thankfully I never blew anyone to bits.
Even my Russian left a bit to be desired.
The politics in the music department had me mired.
And what would my professors think of me now?
Out in the boonies, surrounded by cows?
What am I now doing with my newfound free time?
Am I studying some new subject sublime?
Unless if by studying one means sighing and such,
Though drooling really is a bit too much.
I have even been sucked into reading fanfics--
And there is my file full of yummy-licious pix.
Who ever could take up so much of my time?
And make me commit such travesties of rhyme?
Though there are others, mostly its Eomer,
Or his naughty alter-ego, Rob in milk bare.
Im still anxiously awaiting The Truth about Demons,
who must have cut Vaaku's hair it is seemin'.
Yep, I must admit Im all about the Karl,
Though I do want to hear his Russian snarl.

Huge late after noon sw  =:) =:) :horse: n for KU!!!!

MIS:  I can feel my intellect increasing as I read.

I tried to teach Eomer art,
But had an inauspicious start.

The Van Gogh classic, Starry Night,
Our sordid passions did excite.

Anything by Paul Gauguin
Had lissome bodies, lithe and tan.

Monet's work, while out of focus,
Brought about some hocus pocus.

And as I gazed at a DaVinci,
Eomer, he tried to pinch me.

But though the lesson was horrendous
On the whole I feel stupendous.

Edit: sh_wulff - :D I'm right there with you on "what would my professors think of me now?"

Edit Edit: Doh! I meant Singingfox. Where is my brain? Have you seen it lately? Maybe it's in this gutter over here...

*searches in vain for a floor-pounding, gut-busting, milk-snarfing smiley*

I think that may be my new favorite line. :D :D :D

I tried to teach Eomer math,
But wath dithtracted by hith --

*ahem*. Do-overs. :D

I tried to teach Eomer math,
But our session ended in the bath.

1 + 1 is more than two,
When you add in Paris Strewe.

Fractions gave him butterflies,
So we moved on to "multiply".

Graphing a horizontal axis,
Is a class that quite distracts us.

Square roots are also a disaster;
I fear that math he'll never master.

SingingFox - I love that line, "I'm all about the Karl." Yep. Yep indeed. :D

oh G*D I need a new keyboard!!!1111

just what I needed after a stresful day

I don't know if I can even match those..but I will try:

I know an actor called Karl
who turns my poor brain to a snarl
churning out tortured tenses rhymes
daydreaming about his eyes all the time
and no straght tinking just gnarls

Veiled allusions to weaponry aside
his horse-tailed helm lasciviousness inspires
but even better than the wrapping
is the man we are unpacking
lithe, muscular and toned, we languish, sw00n and sigh

er
sorry I cannot compete

MIS - Ooh, "sip no longer pink liqueurs" has finally found it's match, has it? :D Still, nothing will ever compare with "nofepiefe fhaped like a tiny pony". Never. I break out into a silly grin just thinking about it.

Don't take this the wrong way... but you should probably work on that speech impediment. It could get you into a lot of trouble around here. (Not that I'd particularly mind...)

sh_wulff - I love the bit about unpacking. Kind of like Christmas, but with something oh so much more exciting in the box.

I was planning on following up with a new installment of MIS's "Education of Eomer" series, but my so-called creative genius is not up to snuff at the moment. Give me time...

When talking logistics with Eomer
my mind thinks about brushing his hair
if we were to discuss topology a while
I'd be distracted by his langurous smile

When studying sedment'ry geology
while staring at his eyes I make no apology
Goegraphy has me quite rooted
watching him walk so sure-footed
when looking at interesting boulders
my eyes just see his broad shoulders

Art classes are always promptly disrupted
when by his horse-helmet I'm distracted
and working on my painting pallette
my paintbrush stays dry and my mouth is wet

I'm blithely ignoring all of my schooling
because over Eomer I'd rather be drooling
and lets not even talk about maths
I've dropped to the bottom of the class
no more binomials, integers, numbers unreal
'cos when he walks into the room I just squeal

the most important things about my lessons
are how to start a great snogging session
with the golden Third Marshall so tall
and how to undress him boots and all
sadly my lessons are rapidly waning
my professor wants to give me a caning

he reckons I spend too much time in class
admiring the Rohan Heir's well toned arse
and additionally my proffessor squeaks
why do I spend so much time on Eadig's cheeks
with no regrets I admit I'm a Fool
and I'm top of the class in the subject of drools

I reckon my English teacher and my maths teacher (may he RIP) would

edit DrkP... hey you're welcome here rhyming is not mandatory...just fun :D

Hey everyone come here and have a lookie!
Its really late at night and Im baking cookies.
Of course now the dogs are starting to howl,
And Eomer is giving me a great big dirty scowl,
Because I had the nerve to ask him about...well...uh...yeah =:)

Ok that was really really lame--but I really AM baking cookies this late at night, and the dogs really ARE doing their weird howling in unison thing--five part doggy harmony is really really disconcerting at 11pm.

Chocolate chip--with Hershey's Special Dark chocolate chips. Which, if Legolas is Vanilla, and Aragorn is chocolate and Faramir is coconut  , then Eomer is definately dark chocolate--an aquired taste for those of us who are a bit more particular =:)

Huge late night sw  =:) =:) :horse: n for Eomer!!!

Alas, it leaves me feeling sad
That my skill at rhyme is oh so bad... :D

Seriously, that's all I can come up with right now. But I applaud the latest poems. Especially the education one. Wish my classes were more like that... =:)

there was once a shieldmaiden of Rohan
who occasioning on Eomer did utter a mohan
previously a staunch Faramirist only
she thought the 3rd marshall got lonely
and eloped with him on a horse roan

of a whimsical nature young wimsie
sw00ns at any excuse however flimsy
at Eomer Eadig wielding his sword
and his terse way with oath words
and his helmet with pony-nosed teensy

fractured rhymes.. but hey that's the daily double

sh_wulff - What a suitably hysterical pair of welcome poems for Eomer's newest converts! *waves to wimsie and smor* Please do stick around. Rhyming is never compulsory, and being a "good" poet is possibly even discouraged, as it might subvert the high level of silliness we have tried to maintain in here.

Here's a limerick for smor, who has discovered the joys of straying from the monogamous swooning fold.

SMOR's alliance was always Rohirric
But she swooned for a steward more lyric
'Til Eomer she spied
So she tiptoed inside
And indulged in our verse panegyric

The reverse of that would be, of course, that my alliance has always been Stewards of Gondor, but not until recently have I indulged my latent Borobeanie tendencies. :D

STILL wating on The Truth About Demons--Amazon *said* it would ship by Nov 5th..... Though Im sure there are no lovely scenes of KU in a bathtub or vats full of milk so I suppose I can wait

I must admit, there are two swoony Karls,
Though only one of them has such a sexy snarl.
The other in monks robes is just so incredably cute,
And all of his Q-like gizmos and one-liners are a hoot.
But Eomer DEFINATELY looks better in boots!

OK, weird Karl Urban/David Wenham/LOTR/VanHelsing fusion going on there...... I need more sleep

HUGE noontime sw  =:) =:) :horse: n for KU/Eomer/Rob/etc.......... :P :D :thppt:

Hello girls

The poems are lovely and  hilarious. Serious snarfing of laughter going on here.

I bought decipher cards, a whole new pack
Hoping to somehow get my money back
There were orcs, wargs, and--Da$m
Another goofy picture of Sam
But hold on whats this, I want to applaud
A handsome new card of the scowly sex god!!!!

SWOOOOON for the sexy goodness

Dark, it was this horrid "mohawk/mullet" travesty--especially after seeing him with lovely long blond hair as Eomer, KU as Vaaku was just...ouch......

Not to mention the rubbery looking armor, which I suppose is supposed to look "futuristic"--ack :woah:

Really folks, it doesnt take much to make me smile.
And I honestly dont have very much use for guile.
Just give me a big hairy man in armor,
Who fights well and when he smiles turns into a charmer,
And leave his hair long and go find someone else to defile! :P

Huge night time sw  =:) =:) :horse: n for Eomer! Of course I suppose making Eomer scrub up could be considered a form of defilement--HE is rather attached to his grubbiness isnt he???

pFaz - I suppose I'll have to bug Decipher to include "Eomer, Scowly Sex God" in their Fords of Isen expansion set. =:)

Give me Cupid with peroxide.
Give me Kirill with his gun.
Give me Caesar on the dockside.
Give me every single one!
Give me Rob the dairy farmer.
Give me Eomer's stern snarl.
Give me Vaako's rubber armor.
Most important - give me Karl!

Very nice pic SM--must add that to my "hot famous guy" picture folder

And Galenmir, cant WAIT for that card =:)

Dark princes, Im heading out today to see about buying Riddick--though I think Harry Potter 3 is also out now too so....hmmmmm, fun movie or drooly movie(Vin Diesel isnt too hard on the eyes either--his acting, well, THATS another story...... )

Now some people must think its not cool,
To watch a movie and squeal and drool.
I just say "whats the fun in that?"
Unless I short out the remote and go "oh drat,
That Karl makes me act like such a fool"

Sw :P  =:) =:) :D :horse: n for KU!!!

Hello there! I don't believe I have every popped in here before, but I see a lot of familiar names.

I'm not even going to attempt any poety as it would take me weeks to come up with anything that was better than miserably horrible.

However, although I expect you all may know every bit of this info, I thought it would only be nice if I posted it anyway. This is regarding Karl's new movie - Doom. I am facinated by this as I used to play that video game all the time, so I can't wait to see how it turns out. If nothing else it should prove to be some awesome eye candy! :D I may not inhabit this thread, but don't think I don't notice Eomer/Karl when I watch LOTR and the main reason I saw Chronicles was too see Karl's "dark" look (which I like VERY much! )

Anyway, I'm probably starting to babble, so here is what I found (FYI - Callaham is one of the writers of the script):

Callaham said that John, the Space Marine to be played by Karl Urban (best know as Eomer in the Lord of the Rings trilogy), is stationed along with his unit in a research base on an alien planet (the planet is unnamed in the movie unlike the games Doom and Doom 3 which are set on Mars). In the movie he is reunited with his sister, a scientist on the based named Samantha (to be played by Die Another Day villainess Rosamund Pike). They were separated after an accident that killed their parents and Callaham says, “They are a little estranged” However, strange things are afoot on the base as alien monsters begin to appear and both brother and sister have to put aside their differences in order to survive. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will also appear as Sarge, the head space marine, but Callaham warns, “He is not going to be smiling a whole bunch. You won’t see him raise his left eyebrow.”
"At the moment, the movie is set to be released to theaters in early August of 2005."

So there you go! I know it seems a long way off, but at least there is something to look forward to! And it's not like he's going to be some background character! I can't wait to see what he looks like in this one!

Here's a SWOOOOOONNNN for Karl & his many sexy looks!!!!

IR - Thanks for the script blurb! I must admit that I don't have particularly high hopes for "Doom", as most movies based on video games don't seem to do so well, but I am looking forward to two hours of "Dark Action Karl", especially if he gets sweaty and grungy.

Eomer! So lithe and mean,
Embarks on a new stage-y.
Discard your sword-and-spear routine!
Don't be so middle age-y.
If you're a Martian space marine,
Then guns are all the rage-y.

 That was less than satisfactory...

So Karl is going to be in a movie "Doom,"
I bet all eyes will be on him as he walks into the room.
And he will be running around with The Rock,
Who is another good looking jock,
All that manliness will make our head go "Boom!"

If nothing else, video game movies are always good for lots of explosions, cool weapons and big sweaty hot looking guys.

Huge late night sw  =:) =:) :horse: n for KU/Eomer.......
