Faramir because it is the last time that I can vote for him.

He should also be

"neglected Man of the Year" (by Denethor and PJ)
"changed character of the Year" (by PJ)
"oily Man of the Year"
"pinned by arrows and still alive Man of the Year"
"45-seconds-love-story Man of the Year"

and "many-more-reasons-to-vote-for-him Man of the Year" :)

Merry because I finally got to see Lost last night! :)

lhaewin- HDTOL!!!

LadyRoh- it gets even worse... that one scene where they were on the platform above Lake Lachrymose and trying to get it to move close enough to the other side that they could jump off, I kept thinking it was like when Aragorn and Frodo were doing the same thing in Moria. And I mentioned that after the movie, and even Wimsie thought I was nuts! I'm such a geek...

Faramir

Impossibly Brave, Noble, Beautiful, Gracious, Forgiving, Kind, Tender, Gentle, Wise, Heartbreaking ... *sublimely portrayed by David Wenham* :woah:   :o :D
Inexplicably (but thank goodness he was) Included by Tolkien, 8)
Inexcusably Ignored and Excised by PJ & Crew  :? :lightening:

*deep breath*

ok that's it - my final vote for this Most Compelling and Much Beloved Character :D

Faramir because, according to my very small niece, his full title is "Faramir, Son of Hoondin, Knight and Warrior of the Pooping Bird". (She also insists that Arwen sees a future sundae in the forest, not a future son, but that's another story.)

Clearly, Peter Jackson got to her before I could.

Faramir, because he is, quite simply, my favorite character in the book. I don't have the time to write out a long and eloquent list of reasons why he is my favorite, as I'm at someone else's house right now and my internet time is rationed; but the fact that I'm here at all voting for him under such circumstances is a testament to how wonderful he is! :)

Faramir because he is much improved in the EE version.

Though, they really didn't have enough of him. The Houses of Healing is one of my favorite chapters in the book. And PJ slashed it to pieces!!! :x

 Ahem, carry on.

Its still the 30th here, so I have two more votes left… I’ll save Tolkien for tomorrow, meaning Eowyn today since Aragorn was yesterday.

 It’s okay SMOR… I didn’t think of that when I saw Lemony Snicket, but when I was eating dinner at a friend’s house a few months back, another LotR-loving friend and I were relating all of the objects in the room to something Tolkien, and the first friend looked like she was about to strangle us. 8) Geeks unite!

Eowyn is today's vote, because you have to admire someone who disobeys a king and gets full away with it.

Verbatim! :) I think she was expecting the Nazgul to, uh -- you know -- on Faramir's head at Osgiliath.

Tolkien, because he da man! (A tribute to the missing Farawen. :) )

MIS, this lass is your niece? Hmm, so the nut doesn't fall far from the family tree, huh? Or something like that. (At least there is now scientific proof that funnybones are genetic. Heh!)

I still haven't seen the HOH scene, although it was listed. I'll try not to blink next time. :?

As much as I would like to end the year off with a vote for Theodred, I voted for him last time I managed to get on TORC. Oh well. Instead, I shall vote for Eorl the Young, leader of men, tamer of horses, father of kings, and also very dead.

Happy New Year, everyone! Forth Theodredingas!

I vote for Faramir, he's my man; if he can't hold Ithilien, no one can!

And a New Year is coming, and Faramir is the new Steward of Gondor.
