Happy Birthday, Phan!

Sue Would that be the birthday dance in the leopard print bikinis?

Dress code - informal (and not too much).

That's good. My date is wearing a blanket.

Swoon for the sword swinging, birthday cake toting second son of the Steward!

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and something or others.

I hear rumors of a fine, FIINE night of entertainment.

To Eowyn, who I only respect *eyes glint*, I hand her this goblet of sweet wine.

*whisper* Little does she know it is a sedative! </whisper>

And now of course, it seems to me that as a person with a birthday here, I would somewhat require a dance with... the most wealthy, prominent figure in the room. Such as stewards, or princes, or maybe, rangers or something.

Yeah.

Yeah that's right. Oh yeah. *"Dances With Faramir"* Kevin Costner can't touch this.

I only wanted to ask for confirmation because I can take the date with the yellow towel now!

Kevin Costner, Phan? Not at all! I hope you enjoyed your dance. :)

Happpy birthday, Phan! Which is better: to be 20 years younger or 20 years older than the object of adoration?

rEd; I noticed the poll, too. Should we protest, or merely acknowledge Ugluk's little ploy with a superior and pitying smile, and vote assiduously for all the most obscure females of ME? The Encyclopedia of Arda http://www.glyphweb.com/arda/ provides a complete list of names in the Tolkien canon.

Sw :P :P :P :P :P :P ning for the object of Ugluk's evil machinations!

Google news aler sent me this link http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=12710. It's more tantalizing than informative. What about the unconventional training regime for the cast that "has to be seen to be believed"? We needs to know more, we doessss :x

Oh, and this link says that release is to be the summer of 2007 :( !!
Does that mean it will be a mere trashy summer flick, Phan?

Summer of 2007??? How can they call it "Coming Soon" then? :(

They finish shooting this month - 18 months seems ludicrously long to wait.

Perhaps it's only a false rumor with the release of summer 2007. Which movie needs so long time to develope? :?

This is really non-news, but I found an article in the January 17 Sydney? "Herald-Sun" about a respected Austrlaian film director named Fred Schepsi who is trying to get funding for a film to star DW and Joel Edgerton. It would be titled "Last Man,' and is based on a book by Graham Banner about a "five-man team of Austrlaian special force troops trapped behind enemy lines in the last days of the Vietnam War."

He's not having any luck. :(

With the "Proposition," "Answered by Fire," and "300" getting international releases, maybe this will be the "Wenham Decade" filmwise. Producers and directors, begging DW on their knees--pleasepleaseplease star in my film and make it a guaranteed success!

Edited to add: "The 300 blogs about Frank Miller's 300" in blog 120 mentions two of DW's fan sites--Wenham Wonderland and Desssicated Coconut http://300blogs.blogspot.com/2006/01/bl ... enham.html. Watch out for fame, MIS!

Hi Fazguls -

Haven't posted for a long time, but i assure you that i have been lurking. MOH, I tried the link that you posted above but it didn't work.

I'm disapointed that 300 won't appear until Summer 2007. It does sound like they've decided to make it a popcorn summer flick. Too bad. On the other hand, it may take a ton of time in post-production to create all the images that are necessary for the background. It sounds like the art designers want to make the film look like Frank Miller's graphic novels.

In a couple of weeks, WonderCon is coming to San Francisco. It's the Northern California version of ComicCon--not nearly as big, but with a similar theme. I'm wondering if there will be some preliminary hype for "300" at WonderCon. It's certainly the type of film you'd expect to be hyped at WonderCon. Last year I saw previews and panels for "War of t he Worlds" and "Serenity" at WonderCon.

And happy belated birthday to Phantas :D :D

Maybe if you go to the guy's home page http://300blogs.blogspot.com/, and scroll down the archives to blog 120. . . .?

THERE MUST BE A MISTAKE!!! You see, on IMDB several of the members opine that they believe comingsoon HAS IT ALL WRONG!

These members say that at the rate the production is going, that it couldn't possibly take that long.

You see? HM HM? IT MUST BE A MISTAKE.

It seems that live actors and computer-generated backgrounds and surroundings are the wave of the future. According to IMDB.com a version of "Beowolf" (not the "Beowolf and Grendel" starring Gerard Butler which has already been released) which is featuring such familiar names as Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, John Malcovich, Brendan Gleeson and Angela Jolie is filming now using that technique.

Does it seem to you that Jolie and Hopkins appear in everything that's made these days? Will the soaps be next?

Hoping that Dw will have fine roles and a long career, but that no one ever will be tempted to think "What? Another film with David Wenham?"

Another Beowulf? I hate that. And I hate too much CGI. I think it interferes with the acting personally. But of course not in 300...:D :D

Yes, Angelina is everywhere and in everything. I'm sick of her.... :x

That will never happen. I'm pretty sure his films have been so scattered that the time left in this world would not allow for an annoyingly prolific portfolio to accumulate even if he tried.

That's true, Phaz! It's a shame Van Helsing didn't spawn the hoped-for franchise, at least then we'd have a wide-release David picture coming out every few years or so.

Hmmm, maybe he can somehow get himself into the X-Men series??

Have a great weekend, all!

SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON for David/ Faramir!!

That's an adorable bunny! One of the unpleasnt things about owning cats is having small creatures brought home. Another is vet bills--I just paid nearly $500 for an annual checkup for two cats--including having their blood pressure taken!

Thinking of DW, who can cause my own blood pressure to rise

Superheroeshype has an "exclusive" link to the "300" video journal # 2 http://superherohype.com/news/featuresnews.php?id=3788. I've looked at it, but the tiny image makes it impossible for me to identify any characters, except for a glimpse of Leonidas.

I'm just waiting for someone to make some captures and blow up the images.

Swooning over the possibility that one of those tiny, ant-like firgures may be DW![/b]

Happy birthday, POI. You share your birthday with the smoldering, romantic, scandalous poet Lord Byron.

"The Proposition" is currently beinhg screened at the Sundance Film Festival. IMDB.com inlcuded a brief comment that it was the best film the viewer had seen at Sundance.

David was spotted eating ice cream with his daughter last week.
