Postby Maeggaladwen » Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:36 am

Here we go...
...a fresh new thread for the new year and fresh new ranger flesh to SWOON for!

So, my fandom resolutions are:
- to SWOON with intensity!
- to gaze upon images such as this more often
- and this one, which inspires me to want to go ranger hunting!!

Okay Viggo Vixens -- let's see some SWOONING!!

Wonderful title for our new thread Maeg. Truly a great way to start a new thread and new year.

I resolve to:
1. Share more pics and sites of the Crown Jewel
2. Compose more swoon songs and sing them with abandon
3. Let Ara-baby come out of the middle earth room more often
4. Eliminate all confusion as to who I swoon for

I like the fact that you share with friends, Borin, old buddy. :)

Here's something I'll share: http://www.img.us/x/estelcontar/Aragorn_-_The_Bold.jpg

Hello again! I just posted in the old thread - not realizing there was a new one.

Wonderful new thread Maeg!!! And such GORGEOUS pictures!!! Such dark intensity.

As for my resolutions:

I resolve to swoon more often and indulge in as many hours of Aragornness as possible!

Meli - re:#4
Because I was so confused last year about who you swoon for. :D

Hello Borin!!! I can't wait to see whatever pictures you bring us!

Happy New Year to you all!!!

SWOOOOOOOOOONNNNN for Aragorn!!!

One of my friends at another site "fashioned" a ranger store using photoshop. Another Aragorn admirer penned these lines upon seeing her work:

How much is that ranger in the window?
The one with the sword and chain mail.
How much is that ranger in the window?
I do hope that ranger's for sale!

Wouldn't it be great to have a two for one sale at the ranger store?

Here's what I would put in my basket :http://www.viggo-works.com/index.php?page=243

Should I pick up something for you Maeg, IR, Borin???

Ladies... I almost had a double Viggo fix this evening.... My grandgirls and I watched TRoK on the Movie Channel [we have Direct TV satalite dish] ... Then later on "A Perfect Murder" was on... I watched the first 45 minutes but the movie wasn't very interesting.. Viggo was cute though...

Lucky duck you are, Borin!!! I love Viggo as Aragorn, but he's divine in whatever "form" he comes in.

School has begun again and has slowed my swoon-time a bit but not the intensity. Here's something fun to play with: http://www.paperdollheaven.com/dolls/viggomortensen.235.php

[blink]Friday Night SWOON![/blink]
Wish I could get that in neon and blinking! Yes, it has been that kind of week!

You didn't like Perfect Murder, Borin? Ewww, I did, very creepy! And yes I loved Viggo even if his character was a rat.

And thanks for the paperdoll heaven site Meli. I've played with paperdoll ponies before, but not a ranger! I think I like him in his skivvies best! :)

The V-man is most swoon-worth ANY way he comes. Be he clean-shaven ,stubbly or moustached; long-haired or closely cropped; dark-headed or bearing light colored locks; neatly scrubbed or scruffy and wayworn; dressed to the nines or barefooted............I'll take him, with pleasure.

Here's some pics to enjoy:[url]viggo-works.com/index.php?page=243[/url].

New comp sounds exciting, Maeg. I have the same one my youngest built for me. With all my traveling to Europe to see him and the grandchildren, it may be a while before I can get a new one. Enjoy your new one when it arrives.

Yes Borin, I'll even take a "creepy" Viggo. I'm hopeless, I know.

just a warning to all my Viggo loving friends.. in a few weeks my sig picture will not be my main swoon man... I'm sponsoring Lt. Worf from Star Trek fame in a Men of Star Trk contest over in Talk with my daughter... so even though there will be a strange figure in my pic I'm still swooning for Viggo...

Glad to know that your heart is still in the right place, Borin. We Viggo Vixens are loyal to the Crown Jewel.

Yes, the V-man is cute in his skivies, Maeg. I think he looks good in anything and nothing. =:) :woah:

Been working on a little ditty to hum while swooning. With Christmas just past, some of the melodies have stuck in my mind.

(to the tune of Must Be Santa)

Who's got a sword that's long and bright?
Strider's got a sword that's long and bright.
Who is the one that can win a fight?
Strider is the one that wins the fight.

Wins the fight, long and bright!
Must be Ara, must be Ara, must be Ara, Aragorn!

Who is the ranger with soul deep eyes?
Strider is the one with soul deep eyes.
Who is the man who's strong and wise?
Strider is the one who's strong and wise.

Strong and wise, soul deep eyes!
Must be Ara, must be Ara, must be Ara, Aragorn.

Who one day will be the king?
Strider one day will be the king.
Peace and love and joy to bring.
Joy he'll bring, as the king!

Must be Ara, must be Ara, must be Ara, Aragorn.

Got an e-mail from IR. She says hello to all.
Got that new comp yet, Maeg? One may ask, why the new machine? I can imaginer her reply:"The better to see him with, my dear!"

While hubby was "flipping" through the channels on tv last night I heard something about Young Guns showing Sunday afternoon....don't know where but I'm game to find it. Cowboy Viggo is almost as good as ranger Viggo.

I swear, I think that Ara-baby just winked at me again!! :woah:

Just saw some screen caps from Alatriste. Our lovely V-man is wet, wearing leather weilding a sword and looking rather scruffy.

Can't wait to see the "pirated version" of our rugged ranger.

Oh good heavens ladies! I can't believe it has been so long since I've been here! My deepest apologies, but first my computer and then my cable (ISP) gave me problems. Fortunately it all seems to be working fine now. {crosses fingers tightly}

I know that it is sadly unlikely, but I am keeping my fingers crossed for A History of Violence to get a Golden Globe - either for best picture of best actress. Though I have to say I am disappointed (as often happens with these awards) that they have failed (again) to recognize an actor for an amazing performance. How could Viggo not get nominated for best actor for HoV? I suppose his character was too dark. :( But still, what is the point if you aren't going to recognize a talent that is so subtle the actor becomes lost in the character?
Ok, I'm biased. I know. But honestly, he is just such a talented man it seems sad that because he doesn't play the "Hollywood game" that they ignore him.
[/rant]

Meli - thank you for the link to the Alatriste site! I wish I could read Spanish, but I'll settle for the wonderful pictures! I suppose it will not be released into theaters here, but I will keep my hopes up that, eventually, we will get a shot at it on DVD.
btw - loved your little song! He does have very deep, soulful eyes doesn't he?

Borin - I think the problem with A Perfect Murder is not enough Viggo. But Hidlago is awesome because it has so much Viggo! lol!

Maeg - Congrats on the new Mac!!! I hope you are able to make as many screen caps as your heart desires! :D

Hello Em! Nice to meet you!

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Greetings IR! I totally agree with you about Viggo and Hollywood. He's a superb actor and one day he'll get what he deserves.(I just have to make it easier for him to find me!!)
Put December 22 on your calendar, for that is the date of the US release of Alatriste. Bet a nickle my bottom will be sitting in a theatre looking at his handsomeness on the big screen. :Q :D :happydance: :drink:

Swoon-song sung to the tune of Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin

Oh Lord, won't you send me a ranger today.
I'm trusting on you, Lord, to show him the way.
Please, won't you hurry! Don't need a delay.
Oh Lord, won't you send me a ranger today!

Oh Lord, won't you send me a ranger tonight.
One who is scruffy and really can fight.
With soul-deep , blue-green eyes that are a delight.
Oh Lord, won't you send me a ranger tonight.

Oh Lord, won't you send me a ranger right now.
I'm counting on you, Lord. I know you know how!
When you do send him, my heart will say WOW!!
Oh Lord, won't you send me a ranger right now.
