Strange wording has me confused

<p>If I <br><br><< <i>can't really do worse than this one</i> >><br><br>, doesn't that imply that this is the worst version available? Based on what I saw in the link it looks like a pretty good edition. I can't tell if this is a typo that is supposed to be praising the book or if it really is making fun of it. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif"border=0> </p>

<p>I would very much like to hear from people who have actually seen each of these. Their appearance was different, judging from Amazon and Amazon.Uk photos. The Harper Collins is more expensive - does it have any advantages over the H-M US edition? Does either have true leather covers? </p>
