Some questions have been raised about the specific TOS policy mentioned above. This is not a new TORC policy, but has been around for years. Criticism of anything connected to work is fine. For example, if our founder Jon, was an actor, and you posted regarding his skills as an actor, that is one thing. "Jon has no ability to show any emotion other than appearing slightly startled. His deer in the headlights look damaged the entire film. The man can't act his way out of a brown paper bag" is fine. To mock him personally "and he's fat and stupid with a big ugly nose and wife and kids look like spawn from hell" is over the line. TORC has striven to be a forum which, unlike much of the online world, involves a degree of respect and civility in argument.
There is a difference between a low personal attack on an individual (public or private person) and one criticising a public figure's work. Our TOS is based on common sense overall. Be reasonably civil in debate. There is no hard and fast line here, some of this depends on context and whether or not someone is simply trolling..
The primary reason for this particular sticky was our link to TOS on the forums vanished, and this provides newer members with a way to easily read it. We've also had a number of posters flag posts in the past few months so a reminder of our basic policy of reasonably civil debate was in order. If you have not heard from the mods one on one it is unlikely there is any sort of issue.
