OK I didn't exactly want to start a new thread but...

I have no clue what the 'Shadows of Angmar' is. How does one begin? Is this anything like the online game 'Runescape'?

I wish to participate but have no idea about anything, so any information would be a help. Thanks

Yes, it is an online game, or MMORPG.

You'll probably find all the information you need at the official Lord of the Rings Online website.

Hail Smog's Flame!! Do check that link out that Tom gave you, and feel free to ask any other questions you might have. We have our own kinship of players on the Landroval server should you decide to purchase the game and want to join us. The game is out in stores now. :)

Free-to-play is currently in beta testing, and will go live on September 10th for new players. Check the LOTRO website linked above for more information.

It's a free to play MMO unlike like World of Warcraft so you can just sign up and start playing.

I know if you're a new player, you can sign up and get 250 free Turbine points to start off with (you can use these points to purchase items and stuff).
