New Facebook Profile

Postby Gilaglar » Fri Dec 10, 2010 2:57 pm

Well, gosh, it's been a while since I've posted in here. I almost posted in Talk out of habit, but I think this sits more comfortably in here.

I was messing around on facebook recently, and noticed the 'New Profile' that the site has rolled out over the last few days has a 'Languages' section. Imagine my suprise when I typed in 'Sindarin' just for a laugh, and it came up as a valid option, as did 'Quenya'.

I don't have a point to make really, just thought I'd mention it in case nobody else in here had noticed.

If you go to your profile, activate the 'New Profile' option, then go to Edit Profile, languages are an option in the Basic Information page.

I had these languages, as well as Tengwar, in my interests in FB since a while, in the old version too... I wasn't very surprised it came out as know options, with all the fans all over the world ! I may check if I activated the languages too... don't think so...

Cool!

But considering I know only about 3 words in each, I don't think I qualify to put it in my profile. (It would be funny just to do it to see if anyone noticed.)

I do notice that Vulcan is not an option but Klingon is.

That's very nice! I already have the new profile, but I've never seen that option :o I'm going to check that out (although I don't have a good knowledge of any Tolkien-languages for now ahah).

Sadly Khuzdul is not recognized. Facebook is anti-Dwarf, clearly.

No doubt created by a buncha darned Elves... :P

Also, I'm now tempted to go and add Quenya, Sindarin, and Klingon to my languages even though I know about 6 words between the three! Heeheheee.
