Hope you could translate this:

Stop! Treebeard. Release the hobbits, for that is what they are. No orcs do you see here. These are halflings of The Shire, east of my lands.

Where is Nentathar? Why is he not here? He heard of my coming.

No longer shall your foul words haunt the minds and souls of these people. No longer shall you poisen their lands. Begone! Leave these lands. Rid them of your stench.

May the Valar shine about you in your hour of need, may you live to see the lands return to green, and smiles appear back on te faces of your people.

~Lauredae,fair elven maiden of Tirioth,healer of Dincuivie~
"Aban pelitha caladen tadui. Hey all! Could someone please translate these? The words are 'thunder' and 'hawk', and the phrase: Your spirit is forever free.
And, if possible, this poem:
The hoofbeats drumming through the earth,
The neighing loud and long,
You gave me that great hymn, my dear.
You gave me the Horse's Song.

Yet now I hear no drumming hooves,
No neighing loud and long,
For now that you are gone, my dear,
I've lost the Horse's Song.
This would be so greatly apprieciated!
Hey Eression! In the keystrokes you gave me a few pages back for those three words, I need a verification on one. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

For Aervir, you said the stokes were IE7r6T. Now, is the first letter a capital "i" or a lower case "L?" They both appear the same in the posting font! The reason I have to be so particular is because my sister is thinking of getting it tattooed -- so, naturally, I'd get the beating if it's wrong! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Thanks soooo much, and so sorry to be such a bother!

Thanks Again,
Arion

In any case Tolkien would've probably wanted to somehow (subtly) differentiate this from the forms of the word "way" (men, pl. *min)... the nominative "we" seems to be mín, btw.

What can eagles do against the will and power of Sauron?

Man gerir theryn (cared) dan innas a valan e-Gorthaur?

"What can, what have" is IMHO clear enough even without cared.

Any differing opinions and bettering suggestions for the translations are welcomed.

Is there a plural to the term for "kinsman/woman, relative" gwanur? I'm not sure if the plural is preferred to in Sindarin when referring to more than one relative. eg. "my kin (pl)" = gwanur nin? Or is there such a thing as gwenyr nin? Sorry, I can't do the accents.

greenleaf
Yes - Unknown, roundabouts must be used (repeating the verb as an answer, or using adjectives like tanc; thenin, thenid "firm" > "sure", etc.)

No - Al (Ety:367) or Ú (this with verbs, LotR Appendix A:5)

Please - Unknown; old "Qenya" iquista, so if transferrable then maybe stl *iphist? Or just say *mabedin "I ask"?

Thank you - Done about a million times, please see previous posts.
