Thread of Today II: The Talkative Version

Postby Yavannië » Wed Aug 23, 2006 4:44 am

Hi everyone!

I thought it was time to go back to the roots, so as I said in the first post of the previous Today's thread, I was hoping this might be a thread to -in some way- replace the late "Who's online now?" which I always really enjoyed. :)

Okay, the same rules apply here: as before, start each post with a sentence that begins with "Today..." and after it everyone can say what's up today, comment on the previous ones or freely talk what ever they please. But as the title says, let's forget about tiny short answers and selfishness and make this more suiting for Talk.

So, I'll go first :D

Today I've done some serious packing cause I've only got five days till I have to move to a whole new town. It's going to take some getting used to.

Today, I finally fixed a hole in a wall where a screw had been removed. It looks much tidier now, but I still have to sand down the spot and paint over it. Today, I'm also going to crawl into bed early; in the last couple of nights, I've slept quite restlessly for some reason.

Ani, are you going to a college or university?

WOOT!! Responses! :happydance: :happydance:

Rowan: I'm going to uni. It's quite scary in fact... It comes and goes; sometimes it's scary in a good way and sometimes-- :Q
You seem good with your hands! I think I would have only managed to make the hole bigger

Vana: Thank you! *courtseys*
Yeah, Ani's good. Or Annie or Vannie or Yav... Which ever you prefer! :D Ani's the most used, I think.

Today is my sister Min's last day at her summer job. I'm kind of in the hopes that she would bring home some cake or cookies in order to celebrate it... *droool* :D

Hi Ani, *WAVES*

Hope the packing goes ok, And good luck with the move.
How far are you going?

Today i've got to have a seriouse trashing session in my garden. I have a tree that seems to be turning into a triffid and if i don't do something about it soon it's going to take over the world, well, possibly the garden

Me too, me too :) Hi everyone! Today I did no serious packing, but did some expensive shopping  And it's also cos I'm going far away. Several thousand kilometres away - I'm going to China for a year. My room is a total mess. And I also said goodbye to my chamber orchestra friends today.

Today i started work at 7;00am again.
I'm really not a morning person but you'd be amazed how much you can achieve on auto-pilot when you try :|

I just hope that tomorrow, being a bank holiday, is a bit more civilized.

In England, in fact most of the UK but not Scotland, The August Bank Holiday is a day when most normal, sensible people have a day off work and only idiots go to work as normal.
I am one of those idiots :|

Well, today was my third day at the uni :D I've kinda liked it here; my class mates all seem freaky in a great way so I think I fit in quite well

I'm really glad to see Min's posting again!!! :happydance:
Where's the I-got-my-summer-job-done cookies and cakes?

Tara: I'm only about 160km away from home. That's about two hours by car.

Starlin: China? Geez that's far. Are you excited about it?

Well today has been very tiring but quite fun, i started at 5;00 am and didn't get back to the house till 7;00pm :|

I got loads done and my most problematic client was almost human
I made the most of it 'cause it doesn't happen very often.

I'm now supposedly catching up with my paperwork but seem to have sidetracked on TORC instead, just for a change

Hope Uni is going well Ani and Vey.

so meagnas, why are you down and depressed?

Today, the Internet connection at my work was down for the whole day. :( So, I couldn't do a couple of things I should have done. (Not to mention that, I couldn't get to any MB:s either.)

Maegnas, hope you feel better already.

Thank you all guys and gals! :) You really lifted my spirits, a bit. :grouphug:
Why am I depressed? It may sound silly but I feel so bad about losing the World Championship Basketball, especially the way we lost it! :x We played worse than amateurs and what really makes me angry is that everybody here acts as if we won the darned thing! All cheerful and happy and celebrating, celebrating in defeat! Aaarghhhh! :x

Anyway, I'll get over it, eventually. Maybe tomorrow maybe next decade :(

Today I'm on a school comp for the second time in my life :D

Maegnas: Hun, sure you're not taking it too seriously?
No, seriously, I'm sorry for you and I hope you get up-lifted soon

Mouse: Because I start one like every other day! It's really not that special occasion anymore.

Tara: Thank you sweetie! It has gone well [at least for my behalf I can say that]. Now that we've got rid of those stupid welcoming lectures it's getting ever more interesting. :)

Min: Of course I was! What do you think about me??!!

Thanks for the support Ani. Eventually I will get over it. It's just I fear I won't live long enough to see us world champions for once. Plus the silly way to treat defeat and turn it to victory, that was not what depressed me, that was what angered me and made me furious. But, first things first. I have to get over the loss of the women's water polo gold medal in 2004 to Italy first. Then I'll deal with this one, hopefully.

I'll just recommend you the punching bag, again....:P

Ani: Oh, get used to it...:D It's extremely addicting way to spend a day here in Uni.....

Today i'm a bit sad, cause yesterday I found out that I have school on saturdays, in october every Friday-evening and Saturday....:(
Bye bye my social life, and family.... :|

But Min's got a point about the issues, you know

Min: Ah that sucks :( But didn't you say you can skip some lectures on Monday so you can come home at times too?

Today I reached the page 800 in the Finnish translation of Diana Gabaldon's Fiery Cross *a little nerd-y echo in my head*

Today I'm also seeing a friend of mine. Not that happy with the plan though. She's sometimes...a bit hard to get along with.

Today I asked my little brother if I looked like an idiot in this king's crown and he answered firmly: "A bit, yes". He just made my day. :D

Min: I know, some people are like that :| But on a happier note; I had a really good time with that friend of mine. :D
