Hail all kindreds of night and shadow! This is my first visit, and already I am enchanted and spellbound. I write poetry as well (by the way, Anduiel's rendition of twilit children is awesome, and right on!) May I share a poem I wrote awhile back? It was inspired by a dream I had and is the essence of my "dark of night" personna.
SHE WHO FLIES
She who flies the dark of of the night,
Upon winged withers of silvery white-
Caresses the skies in the vast expanse,
She beckons the stars to join in her dance.
Still other times she rides by the light
Of the Moon, arms reaching to endless heights-
Shrouded she soars in the clouds' soft billow,
Upon a besom of sacred willow.
In the twilight she folds into veiling embrace,
The jeweled stars of Goddess adorning her face-
Fly, my child, as the wind whips thy cloak,
The echoes of sweet song thy voice will evoke.
In careless abandon, the wise one, she glides,
As one with the night, in dim glow she hides-
The first rays of sunlight her flight will adjourn,
When day falls to shadow, it bids her return.
