Upcoming games which look promising

I thought it could be useful to have a thread to keep fellows TORCers informed about interesting upcoming games. What games are you eagerly waiting for?

To get the ball rolling:

- Dragon Age: Origins, a classic RPG by Bioware (see also the main thread I started), coming out in November;

- Assassin's Creed 2, sandbox/action game (think Hitman in the past). The first one was pretty good, if slightly repetitive after a while. The sequel will be set in Italy during the Renaissance;

- Mass Effect 2, RPG/action. Coming out in the first months of 2010 and looking rather impressive (with good sidequests this time! Wink )

- Borderlands, a RPG/FPS. October 2009. Fallout 3 with co-op?

- Left for Dead 2. Again, I'm mostly interested because of the co-op mode;

- Alpha Protocol, action RPG. A RPG set in modern times which allows you to be a spy.

- And, on the long run: Star Wars: The Old Republic. A Star Wars MMORPG. Probably the closest thing we'll get to Knights of the Old Republic 3;

[I know, they're many (although I'm not likely to play them all), but my lack of social life outside my damn job (I see too many people during the day to desire human company when I get home, apart for the occasional co-op game with my brother when he visits me) gives me plenty of spare time Laughing ]

So, any suggestion?

I didn't know about The Witcher 2! Shocked

The first game was excellent - grim, daring and original - so I'm very much looking forward to the sequel. Although I sure hope loading times are a bit faster - on a respectable PC the first Witcher was quite slow whenever I had to get in/out of a building. Rolling Eyes

I was having a look at Mass Effect 2 on the official site, and I have to say it looks astonishingly good. And this is from someone who enjoyed the first one, but also found it quite flawed (most of the "go there, travel for ten minutes on the surface of a deserted planet on that badly controlled vehicle and kill everybody!" sidequests were really boring and repetitive).

It may actually turn out to be one of the best RPGs ever made.

Agreed about the Witcher 2 nar, my pc is/was quite fast but i dreaded going into a small building just because of the loading times.

Cod modernwarfare 2 is going to be awesome. Really looking forward to that one. Smile

Could add the expansion of Kings Bounty to the list.

So excited about Mass Effect 2!!!!!! Happy Dance

The first one had one of the best storylines, and the dialogue was simply amazing.

Assasin's Creed 2 should be pretty sick. I only played a little of the first one before it froze on me, but it was an incredible fun game.

A star wars MMORPG? I'm very interested in that. Can you link to a site with more info?

And don't forget that Halo: Reach is coming out in a few years.

http://www.swtor.com/

It is set 300 years after the events of the Knights of the Old Republic series and several thousands of years before those of the movies. The core conflict is between the Old Republic and the newly returned Sith Empire, and the player has to choose his allegiance. Some classes have been revealed: jedi, sith warrior, bounty hunter, soldier, smuggler. It will be possible to visit many planets. Apparently there will be a strong single-player component (apart for the typical MMORPG features, players can also follow their own story followed and helped by their NPCs companions). Release date is still unknown (late 2010?).

I was actually looking forward to a single player KOTOR 3, but this one looks promising. I haven't played SW: Galaxies, but I heard it was quite interesting before they started to change it for the worst.
