National Novel Writing Month.
Try to write 50,000 words in 30 days.
So far I've gotten 5243 words in three days so if nothing unexpected happens I'm ok. But I don't have any margin for error. Day one I fell behind, tried to do 1667, got 1020. I had to catch up but I was writing in an airport terminal.

Fascinating idea. I've actually had a few story ideas knocking around in my head lately. Maybe this will let me get them knocking around somewhere else for a change. If I don't procrastinate, that is... :lol

I lost two days due to a computer virus. I should be at 30,000 words by the end of today, but right now I'm at 24,182.

Swordsman, I failed more epically than you. My final count is 1031 words. Basically I wrote about three pages on the first night and then just procrastinated the rest of the month.

This is the first year I've failed NaNo. Managed to make it to about 21,000, which isn't terrible, but isn't very good either.
The curse of being really, really busy.

I've done NaNo three times!
Finished once.
Almost finished once.
Only got halfway once.
But I still ended up with three manuscripts. And one of them was published!
I didn't do NaNo last year. But I think I may do NaNo 2010!
