 Eari! Congratulations to your friend! And I looove the fact that you're thrilled for her and not in here ranting about how her stupid pregnancy has ruined your wedding, or something. There are definitely people who would've reacted that way..

Haha Gwen, was grinning and laughing, thanks :D

Eari, you are a sweetheart to wait for your best friend, so she can be your maid of honor at your wedding. And congrats on the new life in the making! :)

Rwhen, when will the phones be forwarded to your home? In the weekend after New Year, or during the whole holiday? miss you and so glad to be able to be here!

Don't have much time, so I'll just wish you all a great day, many happy surprises and laughter. Smile at others so they will smile back at you :)

Have been working on our conference website at work, then raced to the contact lens specialist, after that doing grocery shopping and now desperately trying to find space to store them ;) I'm so dead tired bleeeeh, wished I could crawl underneath a rock with a bear to hibernate :D OK drieske, under a ROCK with a BEAR? *shakes her head* Better to go off  See you all soon!!!

Hello all my PCEheads!!

Iris, you got bad weather, this morning I saw piccies of Pitts and it didn't look TOO bad, so hopefully your area will warm up enough to get rid of it quickly.

Rose friend got a real dumping, I think she is up to around 10+ inches at the moment. Rose, get on in here and give us an update when you are up and having your morning brew. :D

Sil. :lmbo: That is SO excellent, that video of the Monks. :D LOVED IT. :D

CR, the Boars Head Carol was also a cool listen. Thanks.

Okay, gotta get my work hat on tight, the guys are on their way.

Oh don't worry, won't work too hard. I already got the paperwork that I could out and both guys are here now. Waiting for the niece to come down and write a work order that should have been written when the job came in.

CR, I should see you right when you get home, that is when I will be leaving and of course this morning before you leave. :D

Drieske, get that contact fixed, I think that WILL give you bad headaches. Are you home yet, or still at work?

Eari, congratulations to your friend! 8) And, you're a real sweetheart to postpone your wedding for her!

Yes, I heard the story behind that carol, how a scholar from Oxford was walking from Christmas services reading a book, and a wild boar attacked. He thought fast and crammed the book down the boar's throat. It was served later that day at the feast. It became a tradition at Queen's College, Oxford from then on to serve boar's head, although it was later changed to a mock boar's head made from cake and other confections.

Think you missed my post earlier Rwhen, I'm home. Making rice with little pieces of meat in an Eastern kind of sauce (simply threw stuff in, you never know how the taste turns out hehehe).

Interesting story CR, can't imagine how that was done, but very inventive scholar action :D

Is there snow about over there? White Christmas? Here rain, rain, oh yes, and rain. Rowan, how's the weather at your place?

Just a quickie cause my break is almost over...

I don't see myself as extremely nice she is my best friend, we grew up together. As mentioned before I don't think I would be happier if it was mine. And I just cannot imagine getting married without her being here. She is family.
And she has been through so much that to me it is also proof that she is getting back on track. Her father passed away last year to cancer, and she said at the time that life stopped. She refused a proposal from her bf, not seeing herself walking down the aisle without her dad, which I understand oh so well. The fact that this little one is coming and has in fact been desired (although timing was messed up ) by the two of them is just as much of a joy for the life to come as for the life reclaimed ;).

gotta go
love you all

No snow here yet, Drieske. Temperatures of some degrees above zero, and damp in general. But, they're forecasting cold weather for next week so, who knows if there will be some.

I'm wishing for a white Christmas though, it's been a couple of years since we had one.

Drieske, I DID miss that post. The post I made, Iris was the last one to post up. Sorry my dear, but your supper sounds good to me. Also the phones will be forwarded starting Dec. 24th through to the New Years. Then on that weekend after, I will call and have them unforwarded by the brother or someone at the home place. I will still have to come in if any real problems come up, but hopefully ... fingers crossed, I will be able to have a few days off with no phone calls. Usually it is a very slow time.

You are so tired my dear, you should go and curl up and get some rest and tomorrow will be a better day. Much love to you my sweet one.

Hi everyone :hihi:
As I've said elsewhere, we got about 12" of snow last night.. on top of the 3 & 1/2" we got on Monday. It's heavy, wet stuff. Last night there definitely were blizzard conditions. Reminded me a bit of what it would have been like up on Carahadras. A hobbit in the snow. This hobbit had BOOTS! :P A little further west of us they got 17" of snow! SEVENTEEN!!! I think that is 43.2 cm for those of you who are metrically predisposed. ;) It isn't terribly cold right now.. but it is supposed to get very cold.. down to 4 F tonight (-15 C) and only a high of 8 F tomorrow (-13 C). That will dry out the snow.. and we are suposed to get up to 50 mile an hour winds.. so more blowing, drifting, blizzard conditions. I am fortunate. I can stay HOME!!! :yippie: But poor hubby must go out & work in this mess. Lots of trees & power lines are down :(

Eari.. aw.. how sweet of you. I had a pregnant sister-in-law in my bridal party.. she wasn't THAT close to her due date however! But she did require some TLC because she had an at-risk pregnancy. Best wishes to you both.

And CONGRATS Sil!! :yippie:

Congrats on passing the exam, Sil! 8) That's how it goes, one step at a time. You'll be at your thesis sooner than you can imagine!

Rose, lots of wet snow in a short time is the pits. :(

So, Tuesday night into Wednesday we were all about snow...then it turned to rain, then it quit. Then, on my way back to the office from a meeting, it was all about thunderstorms, lightining and (I missed this one by minutes) hail. Now it's all about ice and freezing temperatures.

Global warming anyone? :P It's supposed to be in the teens for the next few days.

No! No! *dies*

So, last night we had elections for our church. The entire fate of our church for the next year was decided by 12, count 'em! TWELVE voting members because, apparently, no one cares. I mean, we chose a new ELDER...that's pretty important.

Some days are grumpier than others...

For Calma :rose:
For Cock-Robin :rose:
For Toby :rose:

May we never forget them. :rose:

Cats were once worshiped in Egypt. They have never forgotten this.
