I read LOTR 2 years back, The Hobbit last year (was reading again these days but had to postpone due to my exams) and The Sil too last year but it didn't get into my head properly, so shall read it again this year!

1. Is there a character sheet that I need to use to create my RP character or is this not required?

Hello, everybody! I'm a noob.

I assume I'm not half the Tolkien enthusiast you are, although I am reading The Hobbit for the fourth time; I read it in third grade, didn't understand much of anything past the first few pages, but stubbornly stuck with it for some reason. Revisited it a few years ago, then taught it to my English 9 class during my year in Pakistan, and am currently reading it to my eleven-year-old daughter for her first time.

Like I said, despite repeated readings of The Hobbit I am not a big Tolkien fan, nor even a fantasy reader (although I love Lev Grossman's Magicians series).

I'm here mostly because I bought a Bilbo action figure on clearance and unexpectedly fell in love with it, but since the new movie trilogy was generally not as well-received as the earlier trilogy, it seems the franchise is at something of a low ebb, where mainstream opinion is concerned; put simply, I registered in the hope that I'll have an outlet for my burgeoning Hobbit toy obsession.

Afternoon all! Stopping by to say hi from North East England. Avid Tolkien fan a LONG time ago, but since marriage and kids and working, well, it kind of fell by the wayside, but I am intent on picking up the books again and re-immersing myself into the fabulous world he created! Although I don't have amazing amounts of free time, I really want to re read the books as well as reading some of the others I never got round to, like the History series, and the Children of Hurin. Would love to get back into the role-playing again, and might eventually get around to writing some stuff of my own, which is my eventual ambition!
