Last night I watched what was quite possibly the best inning of baseball evah!
Yes, I'm referring to the Blue Jays/Rangers game in Tornoto.
I'm sure, if you didn't watch the game, you have seen it many times on the sports reports.
So I won't go into it.
But still it was quite the inning.
Emotions going crazy... Rules you didn't know being explained...

And then the bat flip....
Yeah, THE bat flip of all bat flips.

Now I know you don't show up your opponent and all,
But the release of emotions at that moment had to be overwhelming.
And I find no fault with Joey Bat's actions.
imo, this needs to be a part of baseball.

Emotions.

Play every game like it's an elimination game.
This ain't bridge folks.
It's baseball.

No, I don't condone thumbing your nose at the other team
That brings a ball to the ribs.
But a bat flip after an important homer
Or a fist pump after a big strike out or fly out
Hey, nothing wrong with that...

Just emotions running their course.

Baseball fight are hilarious, like a bunch of five year olds pushing and shoving.

No, the first dust up happened when Encaracion (sp) tried to quiet the crowd
And the Ranger's pitcher thought he was trying to get more praise for himself from the crowd.

No punches were thrown in any of the "brawls" (if you want to call them that)

After an off season of questionable trades...
Jerry Dipoto (our GM) did something for me today.
He brought back Kuma!
He wasn't aggressive enough to sign him earlier.
Then the Dodgers offered Kuma 3 years at 45 mill.
(Jerry only offered 2 years)
Dodgers claimed Kuma didn't pass his physical.
Where he had passed the Mariners exit physical.
So the Dodgers didn't finalize the contract
Then tried to rearrange the contract.
Kuma thumbed his nose at them
And when the Dodgers weren't looking...

HE SIGNED WITH MY M'S!!!

Oh the scream I let out....
I am sooooo happy this happened.
Dipoto has been trading some of our better players
For players I've heard of (some I've never heard of)
But thought not worth the trade.
I was so upset when they didn't sign Kuma.
I was spewing words no lady should spew.

Just so happy to have the Bear back in the fold.

Yeah. I also ditched the Dodgers in my absence here. It was a sad but necessary divorce.

Wil, my M's sent you Carson Smith and Roenis Elias.
Both of them are terrific pitchers.
Smith is awesome as a set up guy
And will, imo, someday be a closer and a half.
Elias is a 4th or 5th starter and can do long relief.
Your team just bolstered your pitching staff like you won't believe.
Treat them well.
Give them time to adjust to Fenway before you go screaming at them.
Trust me on this.
They will do you well.

M's versus Padres.

Lots of changes this year for my M's.
Some I do NOT like.
I'll see how things go with these changes before I say yea or nay on them.
But our core group is still here.
And looking healthy.

My M's go up against Texas in Texas.
Felix gets the ball as he has for the past nine years.
Home opener on the 8th against the A's.

It's been a fun start for us Cub fans.
And how about the Nationals?

How is everyone enjoying their spring?

Hey, Dunthule, your Cubs are doing pretty good.
My M's are iffy.
Lots of changes made by the new GM Dipoto.
He's based it mainly on Sabermetrics and so far, I'm not impressed.
We have a pitcher, Wade Miley, who really can't pitch.
Today, he only lasted 3 and 2/3 innings and walked in two runs.
He's been lousy all season so far.

But we're doing about as good as we did last year at this time.
Just hope we get better.

It's baseball time!
My M's have made a bunch of trades this off season.
The one I don't like at is Seth Smith to the Orioles for Gallardo
A pitcher who was iffy last year and when he took the mound on Monday
He gave up four runs in the first inning and was pulled after 35 pitches.
He never got out of the first inning.
Most of the pitchers are starting out with two innings of work
And this guy couldn't get out of the first inning.
But it's only Spring Training and I shouldn't get too high or too low.
Just hoping we didn't give up a steady hitter for a noodle arm.

Yes, I do believe it is.
They are just too good to fail.
But it's baseball and anything can happen.

Just like it did for my Mariners.
By the end of May we lost four of our five starters.
And my hesitation about Gallardo came true.
He can't pitch his way out of a wet paper bag on a rainy day.
Again we are watching the playoffs at home.

Ah well... the Seattle Mariners: The 2017 version of the Cubs.
