Avengers: Infinity War, on DVD; when I saw it in theaters, I was so emotionally unprepared…this time, I only bawled once or twice…
It is without a doubt my favorite superhero movie after Wonder Woman (which is the only DC movie that would make my Top 10). Thor: Ragnarok is third on my list

Not as good as I was hoping it would be. Some predictable parts. Glad I didn't spend money on it to see it.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug…this movie makes me feel, in this order, :D (yeah, it's Beorn!!!), :? (why was it necessary to have Azog replace the role of Bolg, if they were going to have Bolg himself show up in the second movie?), :Q (Galadriel!!!), :) (I like the spiders), (Kili & Tauriel's relationship), :D (Dol Guldur!!!!!!), :nono: (Kili with his head in a bowl full of walnuts or whatever, being healed by Magical Glowing Elf), (Dwarven Forge Battle), :D (The End; "what have we done?")

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, this morning, followed by a good 40 minutes of Two Towers (deliciously good movies, and I still cry at the Breaking of the Fellowship :cry2: )

A Wrinkle In Time (2018) with my sisters...and I don't know why. The movie was largely forgettable, though I found myself liking Reese Witherspoon, surprisingly.

I discovered the TMC channel.
The Girl from Jones Beach, 1949, is a sweet comedy, mostly notable for the Wait, That's Ronald Reagan moment when I recognized the protagonist.
Impressive. Every word in that sentence was wrong.

National Treasure, and National Treasure 2, back to back. Good films, with very good acting in my opinion; a pity they never made a third. Nicholas Cage and Diane Kruger are wonderful, and Sean Bean is always fantastic.

Solo. A good backstory to when our heroes meet Han Solo.

Gosnell. I cried through much of this and almost got sick. It's about the doctor who went too far and killed some live babies.

Just have to ask: was Solo good? I never went to see it in theaters, since the reviews looked pretty iffy.

I'll have to watch it then. I'm not a big fan of the recent Star Wars stuff, but that one had actually intrigued me; at the last minute I decided not to go. My sister saw it and said it was good, but she's such an ultra Star Wars fan I didn't trust her opinion: but now it's been recommended by a TORC'er, so that persuades me! :)

Night at the Museum .... Ben Stiller .... Robin Williams ..... 2006

Binge watched all three in the series actually. .. Night at the Museum : Battle For the Smithsonian .... 2009 and Night at the Museum : Secret of the Tomb ... 2014

Told myself I'd watch all three someday. Okay fair especially if your a fan of Stiller's. Do think Owen Wilson & Steve Coogan stole the shows.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. An incredible movie, structured like a really good book, with plot-twists and red herrings, and revelations that have you on the edge of your seat. Maybe a bit difficult for a general audience member to follow along with, but a great movie for die-hard Harry Potter fans (like me!), and really a great movie overall - with Johnny Depp's Grindelwald being the most chilling and believable villain I've seen in a movie recently, and Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander making a great comeback, developing into an unexpectedly heroic character and a wonderful protagonist. This movie raises the stakes for the whole franchise, and raises the bar for what can be done with films, making them into the cornerstones of a vast interactive experience with the audience. For that reason, the film could be confusing for a newcomer to the Wizarding World, and the plan might backfire on JK if not enough people participate in her game of cat-and-mouse, but I'm here for every moment of clue-finding, theorizing, world-building and magical entertainment. :)

Captain Fantastic ..... 2016 ..... Viggo Mortensen ..... Frank Langella

Critics liked it. Viewers liked it. I thought it was fair. Probably just not my style. Think the viewers liked Viggo's full frontal shot though.

Mowgli…this film is incredible. Brutal, vicious, and merciless, but beautiful and moving. Andy Serkis does a great job with the CGI, as always, and he himself does a great job voicing Baloo. Cate Blanchett's Kaa is great, and her opening narration is highly evocative of Fellowship, with the same rhythm of mystery and enchantment. Christian Bale is also very good as Bagheera - Benedict Cumberbatch is the only one whose voice-acting was slightly off to me; too much hissing, I thought. Mowgli himself was great. All in all, a really powerful and emotional film - and nothing like either of Disney's Jungle Books, which is a huge bonus, at least to me. I was very impressed.

Mortal Engines: Oh wow, this movie was surprisingly good! And I don't even just mean good, I mean it was really great, it's just that I don't know what happened to it at the box office. The acting was solid, the storyline intense, (I think the ending could have used some work), and it doesn't deserve the negativity it's receiving. It comes off as generic because the ending was changed from the book, which is totally unique and probably the book's strongest asset - I don't know why they didn't keep it for the movie. I really liked the film, don't get me wrong, but there were some changes I would have made. I also feel certain that a whole bunch of Kate and Pod's storylines got left on the cutting room floor somewhere. Hugo Weaving and Jihae, though, did great performances.

Mary Poppins Returns Comparing this with the original is like comparing apples and oranges. It's a little darker than the original, but it is still fantastic. I would recommend it to all of you!

The Road ... 2009 ... Viggo Mortensen ... Kodi Smit-McPhee ... Robert Duvall

Saw the trailer for this movie but never got the chance to see it until a few days ago. Recommend it to anyone. It is good. Would recommend you turn up your volume just a bit. Some parts were hard to hear.

Captain Marvel (2019), starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law.
Such a good movie! If you loved Black Panther, this movie is actually better - in my opinion. The protagonist is very likable, and the story is rich, deep and complex, with lots of fun twists. It's not a game-changer like Wonder Woman was, but it is extremely enjoyable, a real crowd-pleaser, inspiring, very well-acted, and delivers some of the best Marvel material yet.

Better than I was expecting. Kept me interested enough to see it all the way thru. If you like "dog" and early man movies give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed

Westward the Women ..... 1951 ..... Robert Taylor ..... John MacIntyer ..... Denise Darcel

I watch this one whenever it shows up on any given channel. It is a good one.

Mad Money ..... 2008 ..... Diane Keaton ..... Queen Lateefa ..... Katie Holmes

Don't usually watch this genre of movie but this one is okay.

Unicorn Store...a Netflix movie starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Joan Cusack. Pretty good when it knows what it needs to be, and the humor is spot-on: the writing falls apart in the last ten minutes, I feel, but until that point it's a wonderful, joyous, wacky experience. Larson and Jackson have great chemistry, and Cusack is the stand-out performance, though she's used sparingly.

The Theory of Everything, starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones as Stephen and Jane Hawking. It's a sad movie to watch, now that Stephen Hawking has passed on, but Redmayne does such a fantastic job in the role. The movie itself has some pacing issues, I think, and a rather loose and episodic story structure, but overall it's fairly good.

The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014), starring Helen Mirren, Manish Dayal and Om Puri, about a family from India that emigrates to France and tries to set up their own eatery one-hundred feet away from an upper-class expensive restaurant. It's a romance, and a beautiful look into French and Indian culture and cuisine. Helen Mirren is a joy to watch, as always.
