An Essay on Balrog Wings

Postby Denethor » Mon Apr 06, 2020 11:20 pm

Since I'm stuck in lockdown, I thought I'd pass the time by writing a 6,600 word essay on the Balrog Wings debate:

The Time Has Come, the Walrus Said: Do Balrogs Have Wings?

As one does, of course. It's an anti-wing essay (and I don't try to hide my bias), but I tried to be as thorough as possible.

Excellent. We haven't had a good Balrog wing debate for at least fourteen years.

Not that there is any doubt of course; it's one of those things that like "who slashed the beds at Bree"; there can only be one right answer. :)

Delightful reading! I've missed good essays like that.
