PCE Thread of Denial - 7th Act!
Okay this is our seventh version of the PCE thread, remember to not let your PCE slips show and also remember the reason we are here:
(from the original thread)
You know it, you don't admit it, but you know it.
Now is the time to come on out of that little envious emerald closet that you live in and tell the whole world. People have been wondering why you walk about with that greenish cast eminating from your aura.
If you look at your checkbook, all those thousands and thousands of dollars on therapy to get over it, just hasn't helped one bit and hey you could have gone to every moot on the planet for that money.
The personalized license plate "HONK4PCE" is just pathetic.
Oh and the tell tell sign? "Please pity my low post count. I try so hard."
Listen, it takes effort, loss of family, sleep, job and sanity to get that ring(or double ring). If you are not up to the task then at least admit it. You are totally screamin' green with envy at those who do.
Oh and yeah, all you "ringers"? BACK OFF BOOGALOO. We see you, all bright and shiny, showin' off to the world. "Look at me, look at me." Pffffft. As if we had any other choice.
Well here is your chance. It is easy and I will help you along.
Just step up to the mic, take it with confidence, say your name and state your problem.
"Hello, my name is Rwhen and I have POST COUNT ENVY."
This attempt at humor is not directed to anyone high or low, big or small - tall or short, this additive is for political correctness even though I know you ALL suffer this affliction!

I DO NOT have PCE!
Don't, don't, don't, don't, DON'T!!!!!!!!!!
But I do have a gripe...
Sit down children, I'll try to make this as short as possible. Went to a committee meeting last night for the sewer authority I cover. During the meeting the chairman of the authority told me I had misquoted him in last week's article. It was a bad misquote too...it made him sound like a jerk and a half. I felt terrible.
Until I got to work this morning and found out that it wasn't my fault...someone changed the wording!!! It was just one word, but you know, one word can change an entire sentence, or paragraph, or half an article. And he got angry phone calls on it too.
Now, seriously, if what I had written hadn't made any sense, that would be one thing (um, hello, please ask me if you don't understand.) But the sentence made sense, so
why the heck did they change it???
(and I don't know who it was, btw).
So I spent part of my morning, when I wasn't writing articles, doing damage control. Sadly, the people who made the nasty phone calls probably won't read tonight's article to see the fix.
Ok, I'm done throwing fits now!
Where's the chocolate?
Where' s the rum?
Hey! Chocolate rum! This is my kind of place!

Yeah, I've worked through the worst of my anger. I'm going to treat myself to a specialty coffee later, I think.
I had the email address of the one committee member, so I asked him to email Jeff for me and explain what I found out. He forwarded my email to Jeff, so I think the last I'll hear of it will be an email from Jeff...if he feels like responding. Otherwise, we'll talk about it next month.
It disgusts me that I do the work, do my best, and someone else comes along and screws it up!
I don't know why, but that's kinda funny!
So how's the temperature in your neck of the woods, rwhen? And the chili?

Yesterday was very hot, today is to be mid 70's and tomorrow will be in the low 80's. After that it is getting lower and lower and lower. On Tuesday the high is supposed to be 64.
The Chili thing is going okay, stressful for everyone as the open date for the restaurant gets closer and closer. But for me, I just can't wait until it does open. That way no later than 10am my niece and brother will be gone from the office all day Monday through Friday!! Sweeeeeet for me. |

You gotta love the simple things in life, huh?
Yeah, we're going to get a cool down next week. It's 70s now...50s in just a few days!
Okay, off to lunch and other things. Talk to you all later!

*peeks in* PCE? Nah... well, maybe.. just a little bit ....
Iris.. that would upset me to the core. Something like that could really cause an uproar in a community. I hope it all gets straightened away!

Hooray for new thread!
And I DON'T have PCE! Just because everyone else that posts here has infinitely higher post counts doesn't mean that I want them too. Who needs shiny rings?
Iris, I would be so mad at the people who messed up the wording and made YOU look like a jerk when it wasn't you fault. |

Indeed Rose. I can see that you have already figured it out, so nanner nanner.
Hey Eru. I know that when you leave for the day, we all sit around and talk about your raging PCE. I mean, go ahead and try to deny it, but we know the truth. You want a shineh so bad that you have plotted stealing Vanadarlin's from her.

Mayhap it is not post count envy that applies, but merely the Roman influence. I have but recently passed the 1,000 mark, or M in Roman numerals. Look at that description. There is little scope to roll it round the mouth. It is 'M', short, curt, an expression of impatience, bordering on displeasure.
Now, examine the 'ringbearers', the 10,000 posts and more. How is their magnificent total transcribed into Latinate? MMMMMMMMMM. Let
that
be savoured, expressions of delight, exuberance, satisfaction. It is the description of pleasures past, pleasures present, and pleasures still to come!
Mmmmmmmmmm... |
|

Q. How's the slaughter going?
A. Very well, thank you.

Chocolate Rum, rwhen?
Does that even exist?
We should make it exist!

Grand to see you on thread Fir-Bolg!!! But we have found that the more you protest, the more you have raging MMMMMMMMMMMPCE!! Hey it is hard for everyone at first. It is baby steps, friend.
But glad you at least jumped the broom and clicked on that thingie called "Talk". Brave soul that you are.
We tend to be sorta, let your hair down, kinda folk. But I can priss with the best of 'em!!
Welcome.
Please all welcome Fir-Bolg to the PCE thread of denial. And didn't he start off well? Denial rolls so easily off the lips, doesn't it. |

I don't have PCE. If I had PCE, I'd have sported that blue spiky wheelie deelie by now instead of doing silly stuff like work, housework, and sleep. |
