I kind of wish I had never gotten into those sleeping and eating habits when I was in college... it's hard to get off them. Razz

ALSO, are you Mexican??? My mom's from Mexico and some of my earliest memories involve those paper cutouts from El Dia De Los Muertos! Big Grin

I'm half Mexican.....but have never actually been there. I'd like to maybe when I'm all done with my education. We don't usually do much in the way of decorations for day of the dead, usually just lots of good food Big Grin I hope some of it is left when I'm home this weekend!

Eru-I am the same with waking up, getting the will to actually get out of bed i is the hardest part, the same with going to awful classes, the dreading it and dragging myself to it is the hardest part (like Medieval European history.......)

Yay, I'm over the hump of the week. Today wasn't too bad. Workload was moderate, and as I can't get to the dance class next Saturday, I took a replacement class today. I tried Oriental Groove - that's club dance from Middle East - and it was fun. Cool

Some of you people get to sleep late. Big Grin I'm up at ten to six on workdays. Weekends are a totally different story!

What is a weekend?? Wink I only get a day off on Sunday and on Wednesday. I don't get weekends unless I beg, barter or steal it. Wink

I usually wake up around 5 or 6 am and sometimes I can get back to sleep but most times I can not. So I get up so that my back wont hurt and play here or get other things done. When I finally feel sleepy again it is time to get ready for work. I hate that part!!

Hey Vanadarlin', glad you made it back again. Big Grin

What are you plans for today?

Rowan, I can't sleep on the weekends. My internal clock is set to 5am and that is it. Then again, I can hardly stay awake past 8 or 9 in the evening. Cool that you tried a different type of class and you liked it. Big Grin

Hiya Woofty!!! I have been dreaming of mussels and escargot!! I wonder why? Razz I did see that chef on Iron Chef, go against Bobby Flay like our waitress said, he lost. Bobby kicked his butt. Sad

Sil, I am so out of the movie loop as well. I am not even looking forward to any new movies. Usually the only movies I see at the theater are Harry Potter when they are released and I go around noon on a Saturday to not have to deal with crowds.

I will say that the commercials for the new Christmas Carol look good. I mean Jim Carey, he is great at this sort of schtick anyway.

Hello all....working today, since I played yesterday to get my rings. Big Grin

Actually I did just that. The cat came out when I did and I locked her out and moved him over. He got up about an hour before I did the last time and kept the cat company so she wouldn't bother me. He is sweet that way!!

Oops. TORC slipped up. The posts for this thread didn't show up at all today. I saw the previews of Jim Carrey's Christmas Carol, and they didn't impress me, indeed they gave me the creeps. The animation was the same as Polar Express and that Beowulf movie starring Angelina Jolie. I've seen better CGI. Of course, I'm not a Jim Carrey fan, either. Razz

But, that's my opinion. Others will like it, I suppose. Smile

Really CR???? I wonder why you couldn't see the posts on this thread. That is odd.

Well I might be the only person that likes him...and I don't like all his movies. But Liar Liar I thought was funny and also Bruce Almighty. I hated the Mask and the Pet Detective and the Dumb and Dumber movies.

Since I don't go to the movie theater, I will wait for this to come on PPV and catch it then. Big Grin

I enjoyed Truman but that was it. I just don't care for his comedy style. I know many folks do though and that is okay. That is why there are so many actors and actresses, comedians and comediennes. Big Grin There is room for all of them.

To be honest I am not a fan of that style of CGI. So unless my brother see's it and tells me it is the best thing since sliced bread, I will passareno.

See ya, Rwhen! I've got to go to bed early because I've got to get up for work real early tomorrow.

Jim Carrey.. erm.. just the THOUGHT of Dumb & Dumber sends chills down my spine (and running for the gag bucket). He reminds me a bit of Jerry Lewis.. whom I didn't really care for. *But* I think he did a fine job in 'The Grinch'.

Once again today I raked and burned leaves.. my arms are sore.. Crying or Very sad (and I didn't get to post much)

I don't like Jim Carey either. (poor guy) But the person I'm going with does. And I'm thinking maybe it will be like Truman show, that he'll remind the world that he can, occasionally, be serious and actually produce something decent.

I hope.

Sil, you're right...how could they possibly top The Muppets?

I was wondering about that! Big Grin Well, even if he lost, I still think it's really cool that we got to eat the food from someone who was on Iron Chef. MMMMM.

The one thing I really thought was neat about the previews for the new Christmas Carol were how they visualized the ghosts. Not really enough to make the movie worth seeing though I think.

Well, we've got snow, like I've told in a few threads already. The winter shoes I bought yesterday on my way to the dance class got into use at once. Big Grin

I've never cared much about Jim Carrey either, although I can't say that I hate him or anything like that. I just haven't been interested in the movies he's been in. I hope though that the movie manages to keep you entertained, Iris!

Although, I doubt that any version of The Christmas Carol can beat the one from the early fifties, with Alastair Sim as Scrooge.

Rwhen, I think that your workday is at full swing now, and will pass quickly. Hug

Woofty, indeed. It is cool to know that someone cooked for us that also was on Iron Chef. Not everyone in the world can say that. Big Grin I know you are busy, but try to drop in and say howdy as often as you can. Hope that everything is going well.

Rowan, SNOW!! That sucks, it seems early. But Leggo (who is in Finland right now) says that it is really cold. Klonks also agreed to that. You probably read that they are going to meet in Helsinki? Glad that you got your shoes just in time. And it isn't even 10am here yet. 6.5 hours left in my day.

Eru, did you have a chef that beat one of the Iron Chefs on TV? WOW. That rarely happens, he must be a great one. Find out the restaurant and GO. Big Grin The place is Seattle where we went that had the guy who competed, the food was amazing, some of the very best I have had and that got me thinking that these Iron Chef's must really put out some good stuff.

Rowan, I know you wrote somewhere that you were off for the day. Good night and sleep well. See you tomorrow. Big Grin Hug

We are set for several nice weather days.. so I need to make the most of them and get the rest of the yard work done. Still some bushes to trim/cut down and LOTS of leaves to rake & burn. And probably mow the lawn one more time & get on some winterizer (fertilizer). I am not too sore today.. I took some Ibuprofen before I went to bed. My shoulders and back don't hurt at all.. my wrists & forearms probably hurt the most.

Iris.. what are YOU up to? Wink

I've watched the iron chef a few times.. is that the one moderated by .. Alton Brown? I have seen a few of the throw-downs with Bobby Flay.. where he's won & lost. They are fun to watch.

Hi Rosie Snowsie!! Big Grin Yes preciousssss you have much work left to do and if the weather is good today and tomorrow, I would think that you need to take advantage of it, I do not think it will last.

Iron Chef IS the one with Alton Brown moderating. And I actually do like Thrown Down very much. I missed it last night in fact. He takes it pretty well when he loses, which is most of the time. He SAYS that he does the show to showcase people around the country and their special thing that they make. I can recall three that he won, and twenty or so that he lost. He won at Pinks hot dog joint in Hollywood, he won on the Mac n Cheese to the lady who has the soul food restaurant in NY that is very popular and he won on Sloppy Joes to a couple of dudes that really do the old fashioned sloppy joe. That is all I can think of. But he probably has won more that I can't recall.

I have got some really good ideas from that show. Iron Chef, well that is so far off what I would normally cook anyway.

I get more ideas from shows like Diners, Drive In's and Dive and also the Travel Channel shows ******* Paradise (fill in the hamburger, hot dog, steak, fried foods for the *****) Have you seen those?
