GO CANUCKS GO
I used to follow hockey religiously when I was younger. But now, I just don't' have the time to watch a 3 hour game. And it's such a nice sport too... |

GO OILERS!!!
. . . if ya can . . .
Hmmmph. I really must take a bit of time and re-familiarize myself with the current Oiler lineup. Seems like there's fewer and fewer familiar faces, and now with Tavi gone . . . I guess we'll see how this season shapes up.
Can't be any worse than the last two, which were so dismal so often that I really lost my interest in watching . . .
But if the weather is any indication, it's going to be a looooong winter, so keeping up with hockey might not be such a bad way to pass the time, LOL.
Mat, Eru!

Avs 3 Redwings 1. While the rivalry over the last few years has died away I still hate Redwings and enjoy that the Avs have already beaten them twice this year. |

YES another AVALANCHE FAN!!!! I admit I haven't been able to follow them as closely as I'd have liked so far this season, but I'm absolutely stoked that they've gotten off to such a good start.

Welcome A_S_P! Aye, Scribbles and I used to go at it back in the day before I disappeared. I ecided to put it back up again.
Oh yes, BTW Scribbles, When was that and who did they have on thier team? No shot in ever doing that again. Besides, since my Aves moved to Denver they have been one of the most consistant teams in the league barring last year. So I can brag too. |

Scribbles, well then, it's a good thing for us Aves fans that the Oiler's majestic past didn't seem to help them score ONE GOAL the other night.
Matrim, we used to have quite a few Aves fans around here! Don't know where they all went off to. |

So some of the TORC writer types watch the good ol' hockey game as well. It's nice to see a bunch of us bards make such quality use of our various stages of procrastination.

Watching the wild game on Yahoo right now. 2-2 at the end of the first. Though it looks like Anderson is settling down now. |

Wolski is just amazing right now. Back to back nights of good shots coming across the ice in front of goal.
Anderson had an outstanding game despite the two goals. Honestly both goalies did. Only 1 goal was a clean goal. Everything else was deflection luck and garbage clean up around the net. |

Joining the hockey following as well. Actually, I joined last year, but I wasn't on the boards at the time. Since we actually had a good season last year and made the playoffs, people seem to be following hockey a fair bit more now, which means quite a bit in a town
crazy
for football.
Go Blue Jackets!

Just popping in to give a shout out to my 12-4-1 Sabres! Lindy Ruff seems to have the magic touch, in that they might have an off year or two, but always seem to come back strong in a new incarnation.
*knock on wood* of course, as the season is still young |

I'm also surpirsed at the great start the Avalanche have gotten. Anderson is a great goalie, and the youngsters all came to play. I was really sad to see David Jones' year end. He's one of our family's faves. |

There's always room for more Avs fans, tara.
They continue to have a surprisingly good season. I caught some of the game against the NJ Devils on Saturday. Craig Anderson was a beast!
I was very sorry to see Patrick Elias going off the ice on a stretcher. I hate when that happens. It was a clean hit, but I hate to see anyone injured. It is really disappointing to me when both teams don't have their very best on the ice. |

Hi GoodSam
The only time i catch up with the season is on the website.
But i've been offline for a few months so i've had some catching up to do.
I'm looking forward to the olympics 'cause it's the only time hockey is shown on the TV over here

I haven't gotten to see any olympic hockey yet this year. I hear it's on NHL-sized ice and not internationl-sized ice. Is that true. Too bad if true. I like the speed and openess of the game on the bigger ice. |

No idea.
And so far we've only had brief highlights of the girls games.
There is supposed to be reasonable coverage of the mens tournament when it starts. |

Go Canadians!
I'd like to see US and Canada in the gold meadal game with Canada winning. I mean, if a Canadian team can't win the Stanley Cup, at least they can find some glory in the Olympics.

the bad news is that the tv coverage of the winter olympics is ******.
I have so far managed to watch 10 minutes of hockey!
I am not impressed.

Am I the only one who thinks that the NHL is playing on slow speed after watching Olympic hockey? The hockey at the Olympics was so fast and furious, I have actually been bored watching NHL hockey since. |
