I go away, we have a birthday and a new month and High Holy Days and all kinds of stuff.

Me? I just want to go back to sleep.

We went to Chincoteague Sept. 6-10 and I was sick the whole time...I was sick at least a week before hand...and I'm still getting over whatever it was.

LK:  Thank you.

Yea! I'm home!

My son had to get his ID renewed for the shipyard today
So I drove him over.
The parking slot said 2 hour parking.
I didn't think I'd need the entire two hours! :Q

To make things worse, I was HUNGRY!!
Only had a glass of milk this morning
And by the time I hit home, it was 330.
And my stomach was sure my throat had been cut.

I'm better now.
Have some food in me,
But I really hate being made to wait a long time for anything.

Hope all on the East coast who are in the path of Florence are safe and sound.

I'm home too, and dead tired! Calma: I'm glad you're home and your stomach no longer thinks your throat has been cut (beautiful imagery, btw  ). I can sympathize with your ordeal, having been through that sort of thing many, many times – the time when me and my family were stuck in our car at night on the highway, in vast traffic caused by a horrible accident, in the middle of winter, after having already been driving for the entire day; that experience comes to mind. Tonight was less stressful, because I had the privilege of being part of a wonderful acting class, but I'm still glad, very glad, to be home, enjoying all the comforts of food, rest (blessed Rest!), and TORC (including the pleasure of receiving my first little red shield!!!). I feel like Pippin: "and now to bed! and now to bed!"
(btw, the brunch looks delicious, even though I'm a day late :) :) :) )

Praying for my whole East Coast: all that we've gotten here so far has been rain, and it's likely to remain that way, but I can't imagine how devastating this will be for the south.

Ohhh, you have your first "Boobie Shield". :D
Congrats on your first 100 posts.

How did your acting class go?
The only "acting" I do is during our D&D sessions.
But hey, that's how Vin Disel got going.

Thank you for the congratulations! Nice to meet you, Tookish! (that cake looks AWESOME!) :) :) :)
The acting class is fantastic; we do a whole bunch of improv acting to begin with, and I've gotten the hang of that, I like method acting (Viggo's the ultimate method actor!). I didn't know Vin Diesel got his start in D&D…But the class is great, even the parts where you just have to lie still and breathe, or pretend you're holding a coffee-cup :) Lots of very nice people and all, and LotR fans who I can confide in about my crush on Cate Blanchett. :D :D

She's in stealth mode. ;)

Internet is back...it's been intermittent since last weekend. When we came home from Chincoteague there was flooding all over the place (NOT from Florence). Took us extra time to go home because one of the regular roads near home was flooded, the alternate route was also flooded, but PennDOT said we could get through if we were careful and stayed to the left. Our basement was flooded so no heat, no hot water.

Since then the internet has been spotty and the other day we lost our phone. I think it's back. The internet was out at work today too, and I couldn't call the main office because THEIR phone was out. :bang: That finally got working and the postmaster was able to do some of my computer stuff for me and I took my scanner to another post office to download.

First world problems.

Florence ended up being a lot of nothing here when she finally arrived. But poor North and South Carolina!! :( Donated some funds through Walmart the other day, and I want to send some to Samaritan's Purse soon. They're headquartered in Boone, NC, which is in the mountains, but they saw Florence coming and mobilized immediately. They ended up being among the first on scene with relief supplies. Franklin Graham said he's never seen anything like it, and he's lived in NC most of his life.

Oh! notlistening, I've read veritable reams of her posts here. I wonder where she is: I'd love to have a chance to post with her. Wildwood is another one I would have enjoyed talking to, and luthienelflover, and Gandalf's Mother…

Unfortunately Luthy (luthienelflover) and Gandalf's Mother (I think) aren't around much. I think the same for Wildwood. TORc has shrunk quite a bit from the hey day a few years ago. Some pop in from time to time to say hi. :( But nl comes around regularly. She's probably busy. :D

We have a surgery date for Rob's shoulder. My birthday.  It was the earliest date we could get. I'll update when we have a time, but kind thoughts and prayers are appreciated, though it's "supposed" to be a simple procedure of reattaching a tendon.

First day of Autumn and Hobbit Day - that's wonderful: Autumn is the best season. And has anyone else noticed that it's September 22, 2018, and the Quest of the Ring begins on September 22, T.A. 3018? So this is kind of like a landmark Hobbit Day, an anniversary of sorts. :) :) :)

I was really amused that it was hot and uncomfortable up to Sept. 21. On Sept. 22, the first day of fall...it cools off considerably.

Iris---not a good way to celebrate a birthday, by having surgery. Or sitting in a hospital while someone else has surgery. Hope all goes well. Good thoughts and healing vibes comin' atcha! :D

Me, I wish I could shake this cold, or whatever it is. I did go to the doctor, and it isn't bronchitis thankfully. I've had that before and it is MOST unpleasant. Haven't been on TORC much lately cause I just don't feel like doing much of anything. I do what I have to do----like feed the cats------but most things I've just been letting slide. Can't ignore the kitties though. They must be cared for. Probably cause they nag so much. :P

It's been sunny but cool here, temps in the 70's F. I like this weather, it can stay this way til next spring. (I WISH!) But I know the freezing temps and the evil, frozen white water (aka snow) is coming.

I've encountered a few people who, with big smiles and great enthusiasm, say we're supposed to have a really bad winter! Lots of snow! :x

I'd hit those people if I had the energy. =:)

I know how it feels. It's just not fair that we get to suffer illnesses (Eru's way of reminding us that we are not Elves, I suppose :( ). I feel really bad for you, Ladykat, and I hope you feel better soon :) Cats are a good way of making people feel better, or pets of any kind - my dog always knows when I'm not feeling well, somehow; at least, he seems to.
And as for the people talking about Winter... >-O >-O >-O
Maybe those who live in Arizona, or California, don't find Winter that awful, but up here in the North-east it just snows and snows, and doesn't stop for months. And I live on a really steep hill with a curvy driveway that gets blanketed in ice, too. Fun. Looking forward to that.

Thanks for your concern! I am alive. I just have been on holidays in Iceland and Europe the past 5 weeks! And I got out of Iceland just in time as another of its 30+ volcanoes is thinking of erupting. People will be able to pronounce this one at least.
