"Where Am I?" She asked herself. She didn't have a clue where she was or how she got there. She vagely remebered being attacked by orcs defending herself on the outskirts of Mirkwood, there were so many of them and she had been alone when they found her. She fought bravely and then a large orc came up behind her and. . . Thats where her tale ended, now she was here. But where was that and why was she not killed? She looked around but all she could see was darkness, one like she'd never seen before, not even in the tunnels of Erebor had she seen such blackness. She moved her hand out in front of her but she couldn't see it. It hurt to move much so she layed back down, she knew better that to move away for it could be a trick or trap. She sat there a while and wondered if anyone had noticed if she was gone. She sat a while deep in thought when she heard foot steps, they sounded human but there was another odd sound. She sat and waited, she reached for her sword, but it wasn't there. She wanted to cry, she hurt and she knew she was bleeding but she had also lost the only thing she had ever gotten from her parents; her father's sword. The steps grew louder and then suddenly a dim light came in the room. . .

(OCC- Anyone feel free to join in if you care to <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

A tall figure stood in the doorway and a gentle voice spoke, "Hush now, don't move. You're badly wounded and need to rest." The stranger stepped into the light and green leaves could see it was a young lady, no older than fifteen.
"I found you just outside of Mirkwood. If you remember, you were being attacked by a great host of orcs. There were many, but you are a remarkable warrior. You fought bravely. Then, you collapsed and they left you for dead and I brought you back here. My healing powers are not very good, but I will bring back others that can help you. Here, drink this and lie still until I return." The lady left a tall mug of steaming brew on the bedstand next to her.
"By the way," said she, starting to got out the door, "you may call me River Daughter."

Aerin came in through the door, escorted by River Daughter. "Thank you, River Daughter. If you'd like to stay, that's fine, as long as you're out of the way." River Daughter nodded and sat down in a corner.

"Hello there, fair lady. My name is Aerin, I'm a skilled healer," Aerin introduced herself. "Just lie back now and be still, and I'll see what I can do for you."

The Elf did as she was bidden, and Aerin placed her hands on the lady's forehead, entering into her healing trance as she did so...

"But. . . Who are you, and how is it I got here?" The elf said confused and in agony.
"Quiet now. You'll get the answers you need as soon as yuo rest a bit, those are some dreadfully deep wounds and they need to be taken care of right away," River Daughter said soothingly to the girl. As Aerin went into a healers mode the elf dropped off into an unpleasant sleep. She dreamed about the attack and then the orc that knocked her senseless. She dreamed about her Mother and how orcs had way laid her and the elfwhen she was but an infant her mother cast her down the river in a basket hoping the orcs wouldn't find her. All her mother had left with her was a note and a sword. The sword the girl carried everywhere and the note her foster mother kept. She had other dreams of the past and of her father whom she had never met and whom no one would tell her about. Slowly the pain faded and she went into a sleep less slumber.

She awoke with a start and then jumped up. She found soem clean clothes next to her and then walked away to find The Healer and River Daughter. "I need to find it!" she told herself over and over. "I have to find it, if it falls into the wrong hands it could be leathal." She walked on a bit and stopped to lean against the wall, her head was throbbing, and she felt a little faint. She felt a small tap on her shoulder and turned to find. . . .

She saw a young elf-maiden standing before her. She was tall and her hair was a beautiful shade of dark. She looked at her kindly as she spoke. "You shouldn't be wandering around yet. You are still too weak." She continued. "I am Amarie of Lothlorien. I was sent to look for you." Amarie held her hand and pulled her gently back to the room.

She looked up at the Tall Elf as he walked in. "Thank you so much. . Where did you find it?" she asked. "How is it that you have got it? I. . . am grateful that you did, sir, I am deep in yu debt now." She tried to sit up but her head wound was to much and she had to stay put. " Thanks ever so much for returning this to me," she said again. "If there is anything I can do for you. . ."

Aerin entered the room and immediately went to her patient. "Come now, you should be back in bed." As the elf winced and put her hand to her head, Aerin continued, "Here, let me help you with the pain a little." She passed her hand over the elf's head, and when she had done, the pain was gone.

She layed back and thanked the Elf again, then she drifted off into a peaceful sleep as the healer doctored her. She awoke early the next morning to find that she felt well and was not at all faint or dizzy. She got dressed, tied her long dark brown hair back, and then strapped her sword to her back. Today she would go hunting and then she would leave tomarrow for sure, she had nothing here to do anyway so she decided not to stay. She had to get back to Mirkwood and make sure they all knew she was alright. Then from there she would go on to a more impotant matter.

Aerin entered the chamber to find her charge up and about, and apparently ready to leave. She sighed. "Well, I suppose I can't make you stay in bed. Just... don't overdo it, okay? And if you're not leaving just yet, come see me before you do and I'll make you an elixir for the road."

Amarie was sitting in the corner, watching the newcomer. She thought hard and long before she spoke. "Would you mind if I went with you?" Amarie's eyes were solemn as she gazed at the other elf.

"By the Stars! A sister? But. . .But. . Mother never told me about a sister! Of corse how could she have known?!" The Lef smiled and hugged Naisse back. She was overwhelmed with emotions she had never felt before. A sister she thought to herself She must be, how could I doubt it, she looks almost just like me. She looked at the rest of the group and saw the confusion in thier eyes. "Well I s'pose I do owe it to you all to at least tell my tale," she aid thoughtfully.

"Lets see where should I start," she said mostly to herself. "Awe yes a name would be good." She looked around as they all listened closly. "My Name is Drealene, Drealene Greensleeves, and I come from Mirkwood as some of you may have guessed. But my story does not begin there." She paused again and looked around at all of them.

"When I was a baby my Mother was Waylaid by a party of orcs. She ran as fast as she could but knew that there was no hope. She put me in a basket that she had with her and scribbled a note down on a piece of cloth and wrapped it around this sword." She glanced at her green blade. "Of corse this is just a rough estimate of what really happened for nobody really knows."

"A young Dwarf found me in the river and brought me up in the halls of The Lonely Mountain. I was a restless girl and was always wandering the mountain side. My mother recognized this as a sign and sent me to Gimli son of Gloin to teach me to bear arms. When I turned 12 they sent me to Mirkwood for I was a quik learner and learned all that the Dwarf could teach. I never knew I was an elf at that time so it came as quite a shock to here I was being sent to live with ELVES. I lived in King Thranduils halls and absorbed information about maps, for I wanted to go on a journey soon. I was a skilled hunter and went huning every afternoon for practice with my Bow. It was just an afternoon as such when that party of orcs waylaid me and then River Daughter found me."

"Of corse there are probaly a few odds and ends I left out but that is pretty much the whole of it. I was just thinking about goin back to Mirkwood and gettting my leave from the king so I could go on this journey I've been planning fo most of the year." The El ended and then looked around at everyone. It was a rather odd tale. An Elf being raised by Dwarves? The thing that saddened Drealene's hearth the most though was her failer in learning the Elven toungue. She knew almost every language but that one, her home land toungue, she even spoke Orcish. "Well. . ." She looked at Naisse. "What is your tale my newfound siter?"

She took the pack from the tall Elf. "Thank you so much, you have been very kind and helpful; and yes. If you care to join me you may," She looked around at everyone. "You may all join me if you feel the need to."

(OCC- does that help Sare? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> )

Naisse smiled:
"Ok, that's my story.
Our mother was not killed then. When she put the basket to the river, orcs came. One of them was going to kill her, but then... Young Elf was hunting there. He heard the screams and came there in time to help our mother. And he was very, very beautiful. Of course she fell in love with her, and so did he. They got married and then I was born.
Don't think she forgot about you, Drealene. She sometimes cried, and she often spoke about you. She loved you very much.
Look at this," she said and pointed to a little stone which was on the rope round her neck. She put her hand on it, and suddenly it shone - a green light, the same as the sword's.
"It's my amulet," she said. "Mother gave it to me when she was dying. She was wandering in the forest, and... Orcs. I came too late." There were tears in her eyes."I couldn't do anything. Now give me your hand."
She put Drealene's hand onto the stone. It shone even stronger.
Drealene was surprised.
"I... I feel you!" she said.
"So do I," said Naisse. "The stone is magic. It also helped me to find you, selen-nai. We have different fathers, so my name is Naisse Alfirin - Naisse Goldflower."

Drealene felt something warm pullin at her eyes. Tearsshe thought to herself, it was the first time scince she was baby she had tears in her eyes. "I'm glad that you found me, Niasse." She hugged her sister. "I have so many thing to ask you. . .but I think they should wait." She looked around at everyone,. "Well I Guess w'll be off firt thing in the morning so get all your provisions packed and horses will also be in order I s'pose." She looked at Legoslas. "You didn't, by any chance, see a beautiful horse where you found my sword did you? I fear that she went looking for me and the orcs may have gotten her."

"Good, then all is settled we will leave first thing in the morning, and don't worry about Tir-na-nog, she is sure to turn up somewhere," she looked around for the sheath of her sword and pulled out a huge map of Middle Earth. "Now then if you all care to gather round we shall decide the best way to get to our destination. But before we tend to that I think it is best that I expalin to you all where I am going and for what reasons. Now then. . . "

River Daughter rose from her chair in the corner as the others packed.
"I'm afraid," she said, "that I will not be able to go with you. I have many duties here, and I can't possibly abandon them. The orcs are gathering in great numbers again and it is my job to be a haven to travellers. I must stay behind, but, if you should ever become weary, do not be afraid to come to my door. There will always be a bed and a tea kettle waiting for you if you should return. Farewell Drealene Greensleaves, you are a fierce warrior and are among friends, may your sword be forever sharp and your adventures always ending peacefully."
"Thank you ever so much River Daughter. I'm sure that your help will be of great use and as for the orcs gathering it will only get worse as we go." Drealene said.
"Why?" she could see the question in thir eyes.
"Well, I don't know if you all are really set on going. . . I mean, I'm going towards the Black land."
"But, Why?" Niasse stammered. "Why would you go there willingly??"
"I . . .I have to. I need to find my Father. I know he is still alive I here talk of him all the time. I don't know his name but I know that he knows I'm alive. I also hear tell that he is. . . he is. . ."
"In Mordor," Niasse finished for her. "Yes, Mother did say something about a man she had met, whom she fell in love with, from that wreched land. . . but she never said anything about him being you r father."
"No, I wouldn't expect her to it was probaly crushing once she found out herself that I was. . . was his child too."
There was an awkward silece in the room, finally Aerin stirred. "Er. . .um. . well what of all these maps? You know there is more than one way into. . . And it will take quite a while to get there without being caught." With that they all gathered round the table and decided the best route.
