(Okay! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Better get this started *shrug*)

"Zeke! You come back here this moment!" Yelled the widow Barias as her son darted out from his room and out into the streets of Asthelia.
Zeke grinned and waved at his mother, who pursed her lips in annoyance and shook her head.
Zeke dashed off to the marketplace, where he slipped inside one of the tents.
"Hadel! Hadel, where are you?" The young boy called.
"In here, boy!" Replied an old man's voice.
Zeke peeked inside one of the curtains and found his old friend, Hadel the Wise, stretched on his bed of hay.
"Hadel..." Zeke's voice trailed off as he approached the old man's bed.
"Zeke...hello boy...how are you--" Hadel paused and coughed. "How are you feeling? That belly of yours still hurt?"
Zeke shook his head and watched as Hadel smiled weakly and reached for the heavy book beside him.
"Boy, you know death is by my side this moment. Will you take care of this for me?" Hadel ruffled the boy's dark hair.
Zeke nodded and reached for the book. "What is this, Hadel?" He asked.
Hadel coughed before replying, "The book of the future, lad. Take good care of it. You cannot open it, though. Only the chosen one *cough* can open the book."
Zeke gazed at the leather-bound book and swallowed. "But...why are you giving this to me now? And why me?"
Hadel shook his head. "You have grown from what I have seen, Zeke. Take good care of yourself. And of that book. If you ever find who the chosen one is, give it to him, by all means give it to him."
Zeke nodded.
Hadel smiled. "I remember when we first saw each other. You stole my crystal ball and I reprimanded you, hadn't I, boy?"
Zeke laughed. "You sure did, Hadel."
Hadel smiled fondly at the boy in front of him. "And I remember praying that the stars would shine *cough* on the hour of our meeting."
Zeke was speechless as he watched Hadel close his eyes in silent pain.
"Zeke..." Hadel whispered. "Do not die, boy. Live, for the sake of the Tyrions. Live..."
And with that, Hadel's eyes slowly closed and his arm lay limp on Zeke's lap.
Zeke bowed his head and wept.

In the dungeons of Rakorth, the most terrible place in all of Tyrion, a prisoner listened closely to the guards talk. As she listened with growing alarm, she knew that she had to escape. She would have to warn her father's people of the coming storm. She had tried countless time to escape but had never been successful. And every time she was caught, the punishment was more harsh then the first.

Zeke whirled around when he heard the commotion and was about to take off to help the boy, but turned back and looked sadly at Hadel. Zeke gently closed the old man's eyes.
"Farewell Hadel." He whispered.
Zeke ran off, the heavy book in his leather bag.
He bent over and examined the unconscious boy. He poked him, unsure of what the strange boy would do.
Then he decided to carry the boy over to an uncrowded clearing. He started to lift, but suddenly he felt himself being lifted up from the ground, his legs dangling as he yelped and flailed his arms wildly.
"What's--" Zeke grunted.
"What ya doi'n boy?" A deep voice asked.
Zeke swallowed. "Uh...I was helping the...the..."
"You were what?!" The Tyrion guard boomed. "Helping?!"
Zeke kicked the guard in the belly and jumped down, running away from the band of angry Tyrions guards chasing after him.
"Oy, come back here, boy!" They yelled.
Zeke ran as fast as he can to his home, and when he knocked:
"Mother, mother! You won't--" Zeke began, breathlessly, but found himself staring up at the huge silhouette of the Tyrion general Garadis.
Garadis stared down at Zeke.
"Little Zeke...so there you are, boy. Some townsfolk told me what you just did..." Garadis started, bending down and taking Zeke by the back of his shirt.
Zeke yelped and attempted to whack Garadis on the head, but the iron helmet stung his hand.
Zeke cried out in pain. "Where's...my...mother!" He yelled.
Garadis grunted and stepped outside where a cart was waiting for them, a Tyrion guard positioned in both sides.
Garadis made a face at Zeke and threw him into the empty cage, slammed the lock shut and turned.
Zeke threw himself onto the cage door. "Wait-! Where are you taking me!"
Garadis stopped and turned. "You very well know the punishment for meddling with Light people. You shall remain in Rakorth till dusk tomorrow. Take him away!"
She was asleep when she heard the guards drag a young man into the cell next to hers. He was still screaming and fighting frantically witth gurards when his cell was locked. "Fool! You had better be quiet or I'll have no qualms about cutting your tongue off!" She heard one of the guards bark at the new prisoner.

She listened intently. When she was satisfied that they had left, she whispered to her new neighbor. "Who are you?"

Zeke lay shivering from the cold of the dirty, stone prison he was throne into. He sat up, brushing the dirt from his clothes and looked around him. No windows, no light...
"Who are you?" A feeble voice could be heard from the next cell.
Zeke pressed his ear closer to the stone wall.
"Is someone there?" He asked.
"Yes. Are you a prisoner, too?" Asked the strange voice.
Zeke's forehead creased.
"Yes. Garadi brought me here. Who are you?" He replied.

"I am called Nariel," was the whispered reply. She told him that she had been in Rakorth for months now. She was sent there for the most absurd of reasons, too, but she would not tell him what it was. "I have to get out of here. Will you help me?"

(Whoa, Evlim, nice going there! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>)

Zeke heard hushed voices whispering from the next room.
"Hello?" He whispered. "Is there someone else out there?"
No reply.
Zeke heard the faint scratching of metal and crept closer to the bars of his cell.
He peeked out into the darkness, only seeing shadows.
Zeke felt hopeless. He slumped down onto the straw mat laid out for him and closed his eyes. Suddenly, he felt a sudden warmth. A sudden warmth in his leather pouch. Zeke sat up and untied the bag. He pulled out the book that Hadel had given him, only to find that it was glowing with bright, golden light.
Zeke stared at the leather-bound volume on his lap, the glow of it illuminating the cell around him.
Name yourself....who are you to lay a finger on my pages?
Zeke heard a commanding voice whisper.
"Who-who's there?" He stammered, backing away, the book clutched to his chest.
Foolish boy! Not who! What! Now what is there, don't you know? Came the booming reply.
Zeke looked around, confused. "I don't see anything. Show yourself!" Zeke demanded, frightened.
Down here, boy.
Zeke's gaze shifted to the glowing book and he gasped. The book lifted high in the air, twirling around with amazing speed.
Zeke stared at the book, eyes widened.
"Enchanted?" He whispered in disbelief. Hadel had given him an enchanted book? Garadis would roast him for sure if he knew that he carried an enchanted book with him.
All right, boy, enough with the gaping at. Who are you? The book asked.
Zeke swallowed before replying.
"I...I am called Zeke, son of Zeredir of the Tyrions." He replied slowly.
Suddenly, the light vanished and the book simply glowed with a fiery, red light.
Zeke...son of...Zeredir...Tyrions...chosen...one?
Zeke was confused. "Chosen...what?"
There was a blinding flash of light and the book vanished from sight.
In its place stood a tall, bearded man clothed in silver, a staff in his hand.
Zeke gasped and inched away from the man.
The man turned slowly, his wise eyes narrowed, but held recognition.
He smiled. "Hail and well met, Zeke of the Tyrions...chosen one."

Nariel stared in shock. "Have you lost your mind?" She was livid and shaking as she stood up. She would have yelled at him at that very moment if she could have. Leaning back against the wall, she seemed to be calming down. "You have probably already guessed that they are planning an attack. They have an upper hand though. I have seen it with my own eyes."

She told him everything that had happened. She remembered being dragged to a circular room in one of the highest towers. A cloaked man was waiting for her. In one hand, he held a black staff. In the other, he held a small pinkish-white globe. He murmured a few words in the ancient language of Tyrion. Suddenly, she felt a cold surge through her body as a white glow escaped from her body. It moved slowly then entered the globe. She shook her head, angrily. "My powers were sealed. I am not even certain if they will be retrievable."

"They will use it against us," she spoke gravely. "Among other things... They also have superb weapons as I have seen them for myself. Their archers, who have never equalled ours before, are getting better each day. Our people will be crushed unless we find a way to stop it."

Nariel then told the elf boy about Zeke. The elf turned and unlocked the door to Zeke's cage."Ah the Twins have arrived."Said the old man talking to Zeke. The elf boy stepped foward."Who are you.You look like a mage."The old man smiled and said."I'm your father,Herathell."Herathell's eyes widened along with Nariel's."What did you call me?"asked the boy the with tears welling up in his eyes."Herathell.My son.Nariel.My daughter.Come forth."The twins stepped forward and embraced their father."You two will join Zeke in his quest to kill Starflame the orc king of Asthelon.Herathell I give you the magic of ice.Nariel I give you the magic of fire."The old man then made the twins eat some strange fruit that gave them their magic.Once the elven family had caught up with what had been happening over the years the old man turned to Zeke."Now I have something to give you."
