A tall, silver-haired half-elven lady strode through the crowded streets of outer Minas Tirith, to a small, darkened inn, obviously not one of the gentler places in town.
The Red Hog was in the outer circle of Minas Tirith, quite close to the gates, one of the reasons, perhaps, that it was so popular. Those who wanted to leave the city usually wanted ‘one for the road’, in a places not frequented by guards of nobles.
Entering the seedy bar, hardly noticing the crowd of drunks jeering and making catcalls, Cynara leaned over the bar, and whispered something in the barkeeper’s ear.
“I’ll make sure to ask around, wen— Lady.” Gralto the Barkeeper nodded, his brown face paling slightly.
“Good. See that you keep it quiet. And remember…not one word about my heritage, or else…” the woman let the threat drift, then wandered to an unoccupied table, watching the company of drinkers warily.

(ooc: Cynara, when does this adventure take place? And are you playing Aliya again? If so, we could let it play some years after the "Troll's Nose" thread, but still before the War of the Ring, somewhen around 3010-3015 Third Age. In that case I could play Faramir again, or Túrin, and we could begin with a meeting of old friends ...)

a tall, golden haired woman strode into the inn. her skin and hair suggested she was of rohan. she looked around before going to the barkeeper for some ale. she took the mug and headed to a table. she spotted the elvin woman, and desided to sit near by. she pulled up a chair to the elf's table and asked if it was alright to sit there. the elf agreed and the two set about talking.
"the name's visilya. and you?" her voice was deep, but fluid. she spoke with a slight accent that betrayed her to be of the rohan stock.
(ooc: cool RP. i agree with khorazir on the "after the troll's nose but before the war" and the meeting of old friends...)

A jolly happy hobbit named ..... Took (ooc: i can't think of a first name yet but i will and then edit this post) entered the inn. She walked up to the bar and ordered some of their famous beer. It was the most famous beer in all of Minas Tirith. It was then that she spotted her friend Cynara sitting at a table. People thought it strange to see a hobbit and an elf to be such good friends but they were. She hadn't seen her friend in a long time so she walked up to the table excited.
"Can you slide a little?" She asked Cynara.
"Sure!" Cynara replied.
.... Took sipped her beer and joined the conversation.

Cynara's face bloomed into a happy grin, then faded. "Great! But, Took, it could be dangerous...even deadly! Do you still want to come?" Then Cynara turned to face her aunt. "Visilya, Aunt Visilya, will you come as well? My mother used to... She talks all the time about how great a fighter you are."

With that, Took pulled out her trusty Hobbit-sized sword Sting which she inherited from the famous Bilbo Baggins (because Frodo gave it to Peregrin who gave it to her) and stood on the table and began to sing!
(OOC: You can call me Diamond of Long Cleave (Diamond for short) because that is the REAL Mrs Took's name (if you know what I mean!). )

Once again the door opens, and in with the evening breeze strides a tall figure wrapped in a dark cloak. The hood is pulled down over the face making it unrecognizable. As the figure walks across the room, a glint of golden hair is seen for a brief moment before the person draws the cloak closer. The figure whispers something to the bartender (who pales for the second time that night), and is handed a glass of fine red wine. Scanning the room, the cloaked stranger selects a table against the far wall and sits with the wall behind and the crowd before. For a while the stranger is content to sip the wine. Then the table of Elves is noticed. For some reason, several elves and a Halfling seem to intrigue this person. After observing for a few minutes, the shaded head turns to other tables... but every now and then a deft glance is thrown back to the first table...

Cynara looked around the inn, and then looked back to her friend. "Diamond, do you notice that hooded and cloaked figure at that table by the wall? I can't be sure, but I feel positive that that person keeps looking at us!"

"Yes, I do believe the stranger is looking at us! I wonder why? I mean, what's so weird about two elves and a hobbit drinking together?"
The two elves just glanced at the hobbit. She grinned.
After a pause...
"So, when do we leave on this adventure Cy?"

ooc: Yes, undomiel, we DO follow each other around. currently, I know exactly where MT Head lives, and I have a mini track on the bottom of LoR's left shoe. lol !
Cynara looked at Visilya, smiling strangely. "My mother...she has peace. her old wounds no longer bother her. She is well." Turning to Diamond, Cynara looked more thoughtful. I'm not sure when we leave. It should be a long journey, and for some, it may be a permanent journey. But we should need better ponies, and a few more companions, wouldn't you say? I've alerted Old Gralto to my desire for some strong fighters. That usually turns out good results."
Twisting in her place, looking at the cloaked figure, Cynara raised her tankard, and beckoned the figure over to their table. "Such as this person."

The cloaked figure rises and strides across the room. Coming closer, the occupants of the table realize that the figure is more feminine than they first noticed.
"Ai na vedui, Cynara, and greetings to those from other lands." The voice was soft yet held a deep power. Those gathered knew immediately that this was a person used to handing out orders. She laughed when she saw Cy's eyes grow wide. "What, fair Elf, did you not think me to ask Gralto whom I would be aiding? Besides, there is only one maiden who would look so much like her mother..." her voice dropped to a whisper, "Aliya."
By now the accent of Rohan was clear and sweet in her voice. As Cynara gasped she hissed, "Hush, hush, do you want all in this place to know we are here? Indeed, you have much to lose, but I have even greater. If you want my help, you must not let anyone, anyone, know my true identity. If my father, or brother, were to find out I am here..." Her voice trailed off into troubled silence.
"But they will not find out. For now, you may call me... Éonya. Cynara, Gralto said something about ponies, but if you are going on a quest, a pony will serve you nothing. Therefore, I have at a moments notice, a vast store of the great steeds of Rohan ready for our journey. Say the number, and they will come." Sips her wine.
"But tell me, what ever has possessed you this time?"

Cynara turned to the hyperventilating little hobbit at her side. It's okay, Diamond! A few months ago, some theives came to my house, and my mother's, and robbed us blind. Now I need to seek these theives out, and get revenge. I swore it on my mother's...on my sword. Now, Di, we're all sitting here in a bar, collecting companions, to help us. I believe that this Lady is going to help us.
