Nilson sat in his chair, in front of the fire. It had died down quite a bit, and all that was left were the burning embers, flickering in shades of orange and red. Much was going through hs mind, as was usual. The Guild was thriving, and the Hall was usually filled with at least one member, at any given time.

It was morning. Outside the air was cool, and the sound of waves could faintly be heard. Leaves were falling, for Fall had just begun. The sun had arisen and the singing of birds could be heard. Nilson stood up, and walked to the door of the hall. He opened it and stepped into the sunlight.

He walked down the path leading to the training courts of The Guild. He passed them and followed the path to the springs. Nilson sat under a tree, in a bench that was carved into it. He pulled out his pipe, lit it, and fell back into thought. He had summoned all the Members of The Guild to The Hall, for one matter, above all others was taking precident in his mind.

finlundin rode his hose slowly along a path.he knew where he was going, but why, he did not know. He had recieved a letter from Nilson The White summoning many wizards to the guild hall. When all wizards had arrived they would learn why they had been summoned. Finlundin had a feeling there was going to be an epic journey. He was excited, so young, yet so wise for his age. A journey, but what if it wasn't. He longed to speak with Gandalf. to his left he saw some movement. He continued along the path, deep in thought...

Arcados led his silver stead down out through the halls leading to the assembly where they were to meet. The young Elf stood tall as he walked the hall as the gentle breeze flitted through his cloak, revealing a sheathed blade attatched to his waist. Little was known about what was to be told of there, but there had been many rumours to speak of at the least. Mixed emotions were perceived by many of the wizards. Had a great evil befallen Middle-Earth after all was at peace? They would find out all too soon.

Leslie the tall beautiful Elf rode for the longest time she had ever ridden before on her beautiful white horse Angel. She had thought long and hard about a special meeting that would soon take place. Whomever aranged this meeting had requested her mother, an Elven Qween; to be present at this meeting. But her mother had asked her to go in her place. Leslie felt uncertain about this meeting, her mother had never asked her to attend such an important meeting of such secrecy let she was going to this meeting.Leslie couldn't help but feel like she was intruding on anothers business.

Finnally she was appraoching her destination..."Well here goes nothing, I hope I'm not late."

Once again the feeling that she didn't belong here and that she wasn't invited took over..."Why did my mother ask me to do this??? Usually she wants me to stay out of politics because I say whats on my mind, which is never good for such meetings..."

Finnally she leapted off her horse Angel and went to the place where the meeting was to be held...

Just as she was entering the building, the wind picked up and revealed her magical sword....and the crossbow attached to her forearm....she looked back at Angel and her third weapon her long bow and thought to herself "Hmmmm I certainly have the weapons for going to a battle rather then some political meeting!" Leslie couldn't help but smile at that thought...Finally she entered the meeting room...

(OOC: Hi I hope you guys don't mind me joining in...also my charactor was told she was going to a political meeting, she doesn't know the real thing behind this meeting.)

A few hours had passed, when Nilson got up and returned into the Guild Hall. He walked into the Library and ascended to the 2nd floor. The Library was filled with books of all types of lore... be it the practice of magical arts, the history of Middle earth, or knowledge on crafts and artifacts. He walked up to a particularly large book shelf and scanned the titles. He removed a black-leather covered book, and left the library. He walked up the spiral staircase and down a long hallway and entered his private study.

Just then the sound of the door opening was heard. Nilson walked out of his study and peered over the balcony railing. It was a female Elf, dressed for travel, armed for battle. She looked familiar.

"Hello?" came Nilson's voice, "Can I help you?"
Nilson knew she wasn't any ordinary Elf, for she was able to enter the Hall. A feat not easily accomplished without knowledge of the barrier.

"I am Leslie," returned the Elf's voice. "I come by request of my mother."

Nilson descended the stairs and walked up to her.

"Ah! I understand. But tell me, why did not your mother come in person? I had hoped to speak with her."

The morning sun rose spreading bright tendrils of happiness over the horizon. Finally, finally the mroning had arrived! Wandering rose quietly from the soft bed in one of the small rooms inside the Wizard's Hall. The sheets rolled off of him with a gentle flow, they were light, soft, and warm beyond normal silk. Like most things here, they were woven upon two plains. The soft fibrous silk twisted with an unseen layer of magic.

Wandering smiled as he slowly slipped the sleeves of his cloak onto his arms and gently pulled the hood over his head. He gazed out of the window wondering slightly about the road ahead. It had taken so much research, maps and lore, to finally devise the plan that he had presented, so well recieved, by Nilson. And now, after the long tedious labors, his dream would be realized.

He walked slowly from the room, compressing his belongings once again into his various pockets with the whispers of slight words. Even a tent now could fit comfortably into his left cloak pocket.

He waved his hand, slowly manipulating the door behind him to glide back into its frame. He smiled again, in such a short time he had become strong in the art. He had his father's blood in him indeed.

With a stretch he walked into the conference room.

Andariel shook of the dead leaves that clung to her crimson cloak. She stepped inside the hall and muttered a word of thanks to the frail-looking guard who opened the door for her. She looked around. New faces where visible to her and she smiled faintly as she crossed the room.

A Journey? She mused. How intriguing.

Leslie smiled at Nilson, for a moment while she tried to figure out why her mother wanted her to come to this meeting, finally her answer was more of the exact same question. And She herself didn't know the answer....
"I'm not sure why she asked that I go in her place," Leslie knew her answer was stupid, but went on, "I was told little of this meeting other then it would be about palitics."

Even as she said the last sentence Leslie remembered that her mother didn't want her going to political meetings because Leslie was always known to speak her mind, and many of her people thought she was more like her father who was a great warrior.Upon thinking that maybe that's why she was sent instead of her mother, maybe instead of politics this meeting would be about somthing Leslie considered worse. A meeting about a upcoming war of some sort.

Leslie never liked these types of meetings ,if this was the reason for this meeting. Leslie had always felt that war meetings were all talk about sending other poeple off to die, Leslie was hopeing now that this would not be such a meeting..

"Well ," She thought to herself," I'll soon find out what this meetings about."

It was time to enter the Meeting hall....

"I'm not sure why she asked that I go in her place," said Leslie, "I was told little of this meeting other then it would be about politics."

"Well, you might find more to this meeting than politics," said Nilson. "Perhaps something of interest to you."
With that, Leslie was escorted the Guild Meeting Room, just as Wandering emerged from his room. Nilson turned to him.

"Good morning," said Nilson.

"Tis indeed," replied Wandering. "Who has arrived?"

"Only Leslie, whom you just saw," said Nilson. Maltafenien stood on the cliff in awe of her immediate surroundings. She had always have a special love for nature and it's inhabitants, and had been chastised more times than she cared to remember for gazing outside during her lessons. As the wind blew lightly, rustling the leaves on the oak tree that she sat under and ruffling her dark hair, she smiled in fond recollection of her times at Rivendell and Lothlorien.

A swallow's wings fluttered and Maltafenien's head turned slightly as her keen ears picked up the sound. It landed lightly on her knee and Malta lowered her head, her eyes picking up that all was not well. Her inspection quickly revealed that the left wing appeared to be slightly crooked. Eyebrows knit in concern her voice quietly calmed the bird.

"Do not worry little one, I do believe that I can rectify this matter, and have you whole again. Perhaps we can make a deal suitable to both of us; I shall get you fixed, and you shall take me on a tour of sorts-"

Maltafenien halted a moment as she saw a flash of silver down near the hall. That would mean that Arcados is here? I wonder what would require him here since he never usually appears unless there is some higher purpose. Have I forgotten something...

Malta's eyes widened as she remembered that Nilson had called a meeting today! She could not afford to be late, as she had already been absent from guild matters recently due to her unscheduled trip to the Grey Havens which she had forgotten to notify the others about. Quickly, holding the bird carefully in her hand, she went down the hill, entering the hall from the back. Peering into the Gathering Room she noticed that no one was there and decided that there was enough time to look after the swallow.

Leslie found a chair near a table in the corner and sat quietly as other members would start to come in as she sat, She thought to herself at least if I'm gonna be here I'll sit and hopfully remain unnoticed. Then another thought accured to her, what did Nilson mean by"I might find more to this meeting then politics"???

Leslie could not help but wonder...."What is this meeting about???","Why was I sent here????"

Leslie's thoughts and questions with no answers had clearly given her a head ache. Finlundin, walked along the path. I have been traveling for three days now, I must hurry up. But then he saw it, the wizards guild hall. He entered the gates, there seeing Nilson and Wandering who he recognized, and others in which he didn't. Hello, said he to Nilson, is the meeting about to start? I think I have just about figured out what this is all about! Perhaps a war, but no, I would have heard, Denethor's death perhaps, I think that may have something to do with it.

Maltafenien heard the bustling of the other Istari entering the Hall, but quickly decided that she would attend to her patient. She went up to her room and looked for bandages then sat by the window, placing the swallow on her lap gently.

The bird was quieted by Maltafenien's soothing chants and only ruffled slightly as Malta attended to it. Her hands moved gently over the bird, finding the injury and closing her eyes she chanted softly under breath. The bird's body shivered then went completely still. Malta opened her eyes and apllied the bandage to the bird. Satisfied with her task, she gently lifted the bird to her face and blew on it softly. The swallows' eyes opened and it chirped, flying off to land on the sill. Maltafenien smiled happily.

Now do try to take better care of yourself, for you might not always find me to tend to you so quickly. She sighsIf only our Guild Leader had not called for a meeting today. The day is beautiful to behold and I have not travelled the area for some time.

Malta settled by the window, looking out, lost in the workings of her mind

Leslie tried to relax in her chair as other members came into the hall. But it was no use She knew she wasn't welcomed her and that it wasn't her place to be here. And the more and more she thought about it the more and more she became uneasy at the thought....

Leslie thought to herself,"Ok enough is enough, I'm going outside for a moment with my horse Angel! At leaset I'll feel more welcomed with her."Leslie thought. "And besides I need a bite of fresh air and time to clear my head."

Leslie quickly got up from her chair and headed for the entrance she had come in. She took once last glance at the room, there wheren't many there yet. Then she turned and went to the front door, as she opened the door a cool breeze shot into the room and Leslie entered the cool refreshing outdoors....

"Hello Angel," Leslie said as she approached her beautiful white horse.
Angel gave a slight mutter and a toss of her head in response to Leslie....
"No Angel," Leslie stated, "The meeting hasn't started yet.I decided that I needed some air and a little time away to clear my head."

Angel gave another mutter and a nod of her head in response...Leslie couldn't help but laugh a little to that response...

"No,It's not the wizards, Angel. It's the fact that I don't belong at this meeting," after a short pause Leslie continued," I still don't get it why would mother send us here. I mean Kadean (Leslie's older sister) bagged and pleaded to go with mother to the Wizards Guild meetings ever since she was twelve and now all of a sudden "I" must go to this meeting?! It doesn't make any sense at all."

After a few long moment Leslie continued the conversation with Angel....

"If you think about it ,Angel. My sister's where the ones more into the whole magic deal,I wasn't.Or as mother would say I'm more like father-A warrior.Sure I studied magic a lot and am,I think; pretty good at it. Just nowhere near as good as my sisters.I guess in mother's eyes I am not anything like my sisters. They've all gotten married and I haven't.They are all powerfull practicioners in magic and I'm more of a practicioner in swords and bows.I act more like a boy then a girl,And mother has always asked "Why can't you be more like your sisters???" Leslie paused again for a moment to take in the pain she felt when she heard herself ask that painfull question. Then she spoke again,"If my sisters are sooo much better and greater then I then why did she send me???She knows my sisters would want this chance more then anything else in all of Middle Earth. Why did she send me instead of one of them????"

Leslie felt tears run down her face, and heard Angel give a simple whimper as she nudged Leslie in the shoulder. Leslie looked up and gave a little smile to her good friend Angel...Leslie came up and wrapped her arms around Angel's neck.

After a short moment Leslie whipped her face of the tears and said....
"Well I guess I should get back in there before the meeting starts, wouldn't want to disapoint mother any more then I already have..."

Leslie took in a deep breath and released it a short moment later. She still felt like an outsider at the meeting, but a large weight Leslie felt on her shoulders was lifted,as she entered the hall again she thought to herself..."Good old Angel. She seems to be the only one who understands me."

Leslie sat back in the same spot in the corner and tried to relax a bit, this time she was a little relaxed and hoped this meeting would end soon.....

Wandering sat down quietly next to Nilson. A place of honor, he noted, especially for one so new to the arts of Magic. Only recently attaining the skills of a wizard, he was impressed that his ideas had achieved such notariety in the eyes of their leader. As Maltafenien stared out the window she noted a She-Elf walking out to attend to her horse. Malta scrutinized the girl but could not place her face, and she was almost certain that she was not of this order. Then her eyes widened a bit as she realized that the girl appeared to be crying. Pity was stirred in her heart, helped by the obvious love the She-Elf had for her horse.

Malta was still puzzled as she could not figure how the She-Elf had passed through the barrier unless she had something to do with the meeting-

The Meeting!

Startled out of her reverie she jumped from the window and rushed from her room, down the stairs to the Hall. The swallow kept up with her pace and the occupants of the Hall were greeted the harried sight of Malta, panting slightly from her race with the swallow flying above her head. She smiled uncertainly and went before Nilson, bowing slightly.

I apologize for being tardy Nilson, I fear that I was distracted by...other matters.

Nilson noted the swallow that hovered about her and guessed correctly in what path her attention had gone. He frowned a bit at her but reprimanded lightly

So it appears Maltafenien, but next time I implore you to be a bit more prompt. Wandering has brought news to the attention of the Guild that affects us all and all our faculties, such as they are, will be needed.

Malta nodded in understanding, and took a seat by the window, her interest peaked by his statement

It seems about time to go in.

Arcados thought, as he strode into the meeting hall, noting the female Elf as he passed. "Important matters always seem to strike out of the blue, and in clusters!"
Miryanna mused to herself as she madly ran about her Lorien abode, attempting to make swift preparations for yet another journey.

She had arrived just hours before; recent months in her life have been filled with matters of great urgency and kept her away from her home and the Guild Hall for extended periods of time. Matters of personal importance had flared up into a wall of fire, and Miryanna was hard put to do much travelling and soulsearching. She was satisfied with what she had accomplished recently, although many things close to her heart have not yet been completely set straight. One cannot grow in The Art if one's heart is in turmoil, and one's destiny not understood...alas, at least now things were looking much better than they have for a while.

Nearing her Lorien home, she already felt the familliar tug of the "force". As she passed through the door, her eyes were immediatelly drawn to the glowing piece of parchment upon the table in her study; a small white bird sat beside the object. It chirped loudly, cocking its head to the side upon catching sight of the the returning Lady of the house.

"A letter! From the Hall! I should have known!" Miryanna exclaimed, storming towards the scroll.
"Nilson must have thought I was at home...serves me right for not notifying him of my most recent journey..." She thought, her cheeks flushed in abashment.

She broke the seal and was about to unfold the scroll when the little bird rose into the air and began circling her head, chirping wildly and at times even making as if to peck her on her nose!
"Looks like Nilson had trained this messenger well!"
She thought, with an angry smirk. Already frustrated, she raised her hand and made as if to catch the airborne being, but quickly dropped it to her side, and hung her head low in more embarrassment.

"Yes, little one. Your words hold nothing but the truth, I have been terribly negligent recently."
The bird stopped chirping for a second, as if temporarily satisfied with her admission, yet indeed, the satisfaction was only fleeting. Almost instantly it resumed circling even faster, and blurting out more angry chirps.

"And yes... I am extremely sorry for wasting your time. I know! I know! You are bound to guard the scroll until it comes to my hands... Days???? You must have arrived very near to my departure then! Horrid timing!"
She snarled with clear frustration.

"I DO apologize...."
She raised her hand into the air and offered it to the bird to perch on. The animal hesitantly complied, still clearly showing scorn for the woman.
"You have done well. Nilson shall reward you, and I am indebted to you... The least I can do - "
Placing the still unwound scroll on the table again, she waved her free hand over the bird. The little creature chirped with joy upon noticing the new golden band around its foot. It shone with exquisite radiance and was set apart from the others in the row gracing the little foot by a small, gleaming, blue stone in its center.

She patted the bird on its head, and it nudged her hand mischieviously. The little messenger had been appeased. She smiled with relief but the smile soon faded and turned into a scowl as she realized that the Master Wizard will be much harder to placate in his dissatisfaction.

Now barely a glimmer of white against the darkening evening sky, the bird left through the window and began flying in the direction of the Hall.

The scroll finally unwound, Miryanna stood silent, perusing the long overdue urgent message. Her eyes became wide, displaying a mixture of curiousity and urgency. Tucking the parchment into the pouch slung off her shoulder, she darted down the corridor, making for her chamber.

Minutes later, she stood again before her mansion and whistled for Prima. The horse neighed softly and thrust its head a few times, showing its astonishment at being summoned again so soon after just arriving from a long journey.

"I know Prima. Forgive me. This is of my fault. We must speed to the Guild Hall. Urgent matters."

The animal was not pleased but obeyed, and horse and rider were soon lost in the darkness of the night.

Nilson entered the Council Area and took his seat at the head of the long wooden table. He had bid that Wandering be seated next to him for this meeting. It was indeed Wandering who was responsible for this great council. The others were beginning to file in. Wandering glanced over to Nilson, and whispered, "So, are we ready? I am very eager for it to begin."

Nilson glanced to the seat on his left, wich was currently vacant and replied: "Soon, there are still members who have yet to show."

Nilson had arranged for a very fine wine to be served before the Council began. All the people siting around the table were busy greeting eachother, and contemplating what this meeting might be about. But all marveled when a tiny bird flew in through the open window, and landed on Nilson's outstreched hand.

"Ah!" said Nilson. "This is well! The Enchantress will soon be among us!"

With that, Nilson lifted his hand and the bird flew off into the sun.
When Andariel heard that the Enchantress would be coming, she smiled to herself. It had been long since she had seen her and she was indeed looking forward to her presence in the meeting.

Suddenly, she felt a strong gust of wind from the open window beside her and she narrowed her eyes as she stared at the distance.

We have more guests? Looking in threw a window Durfindel saw that there were a few inside already. Looking at the faces of the people she saw that not all appered to be Wizards. Many of those in the room appered to be Elves or Wizards looking alot like Elves. She quickly ducked down for she thought that one of them had seen her looking threw the window. Silently she walked back up the hill to the side of the building. There she told her cousin Haldir all that she saw. After talking for a while they desided that they should go down to the meeting.

As Durfindel and Haldir walked to the great doors they saw that someone just then entered and sat down. As Durfindel came to the great doors they shut. Going up to the doors she laid her hands and said "lasto beth lammen, kelgond". Suddenly the doors flew open. All inside turned and were shocked to see the Elves standing there. One of them that been sitting down stood up and said "Who is this Elf that dare to enter this meeting uninvited?" "I am Durfindel, servant of the Sorceress in the Golden Wood, the Lady of Lorien. I was not expected but came at the Lady's command and She is more powerful then all of you. I was sent to give a message to the head of your council. Where is he? I need to speak with him now before it is too late.

(OOC - There is a OOC thread, and I would suggest everybody reads it. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> I have asked SorceressintheGoldenWood to edit her post, as it does not fit in with the time period, or the story we are trying to tell. There are more details there, so I would appreciate not acknowledging her entrance, until we get everything sorted out. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>)

The night was dark, but Miryanna was far from getting lost. She knew her way very well. Stopping on the shores of the Anduin, she moored a large boat, and soon Prima and her were speeding down river. Many times had she crossed the lands this way on her path to the Guild Hall. Lost in thought, and focused on keeping up her speed, she paid little attention to time, a few days must have passed and before she knew it, she saw the majestic White Mountains in the distance. She slept little, guiding the boat along the river, although she set an enchantment over it to keep it on its way. She liked to be sure they were steering right. At least Prima got some well deserved rest.
The high peaks of the mountains were getting nearer and nearer.
She sighed heavily.
The Bay of Belfalas was nearby.
She wished to sail past the mountains, to the open waters.
Her elven spirit was drawn by the sea. Especially in these days, when so many had already gone across. She was one of the very few remaining. Not simply an Elf. The other part of her bound her destiny to that of Middle Earth.
She would have liked to sail further and enjoy the sight that elicited such longing in her soul, but alas, this was not the time.

Soon, the towers of the Guild Hall in all their splendour appeared out of the mists at the foot of the White Mountains.
It was dawning.

She pulled up to the shore and Prima stepped out onto the land. She tied off the boat and then mounted the mare.
Miryanna rode hard, without stopping, and Prima was remarkably strong, refreshed by the rest she obtained on the trip downriver.

The sun was high in the sky by the time she approached the magnificent edifice.

She dismounted, and walked towards the gates. Her dark silver cloak billowed in the wind and she held her carved staff tightly in her hand. From the chain girdle around her white tunic hung a sword. She had only recenlty began training in the art of sword fighting, but she had improved fast in her skill. Something told her that such a weapon might be needed for whatever the Guild may be undertaking.

She held out her hand and the massive doors opened before her.

She made her way down the corridor to the main Council Chamber.
Again, the door swung open. Her eyes scanned the room. Many were already seated at the long table, and the one empty seat on Nilson's left made Miryanna blush again. At least the council has not yet begun. Wandering was seated on Nilson's right - the young Wizard was talented and dilligent and he was quickly climbing the ranks.

She walked towards the head of the table, many eyes were focused on her. She was happy to see some friends who have been gone for some time, there was Andariel, looking as majestic as ever in her crimson cloak. Maltafenien and Arcados were also present; they acknowledged her presence with a nod. There were also a few Miryanna has never seen before - perhaps new additions to the guild - she thought, realizing how long she has been away.

She now reached Nilson's seat and bowed low before him.

"Hail Nilson. My humble apologies for being late. It is some consolation to me that the Council has not yet began, yet I still grieve for my tardy arrival. I shall explain all, if you wish. I have been away again, and failed to notify you. Your message reached me only a few days ago. And the journey here is not a short one, Master. I came as fast as I could..."

She stood silent, awaiting an answer and hoping the scolding would not be too sharp.

Nilson was discussing the topic of the Council with Wandering, when the Lady Enchantress entered the meeting room through the doors. She strode over to her seat but did not sit down. She spoke:

"Hail Nilson. My humble apologies for being late. It is some consolation to me that the Council has not yet began, yet I still grieve for my tardy arrival. I shall explain all, if you wish. I have been away again, and failed to notify you. Your message reached me only a few days ago. And the journey here is not a short one, Master. I came as fast as I could..."

"Then much more is clear to me," replied Nilson. "Do not worry, Miryanna. The journey from Lothlorien is quite a distance. I am glad you made it when you did, if my message reached you only a few days ago."

Nilson smiled. Enchantress took her seat and the room became quiet. Nilson stood and adressed the Council:

"My fellow wizards, the time has now come! You have been summoned here for a great matter, one that will benefit us greatly if we can achieve it. I welcome you all, friends, and visitors from neighboring lands."

Mostly the entire guild was present. The Master Wizards sat closest to the head of table, and the others in accordance. A few seats were empty, and alas, have been empty for too long a time. No news has found it's way to the Guild reagarding long time members who have dissapeared. Nilson continued:

"Long has this idea been discussed between Wandering and I, and now comes the time to put it to motion." Nilson sighed. "We have located the general location of the remaining long lost Palantir, and I propose we journey to recover it!"

The room filled with the sound of murmurs between the Guild members and visitors. A look of surprise and intrigue was in all of their eyes.

"Wandering and I have researched every known information source on the Palantir, and we belive it can be done!"

With that, Nilson bade Wandering address the Council.
