The liberation of Mirkwood ( Continuation fo All hardy elves, hobbits, and men wanted to go on great adventure)

Pull out your pack and head on down to the Prancing Pony for some great Role Playing (try to stay in character)!

Deep in the bowels of Mirkwood a great evil has arisen. No information is known about it, aside the fact that it has enslaved the woodelves. The woodmen fought back valiantly against the brutal onslaught, but were overpowered. An emmisary of the wood elves reached Rivendell yesterday, where I, Aventh of hte last homely house, gathered this information from the emissaries dying breath. I send out a call to arms for my fellow warriors, and it has reached you. We must rally against this great evil of Mirkwood or certainly perish in the coming years. I need your help.

Lady Ivy an elven warrior was passing through the woods of Régan (the Woods of Régan is my own little invention <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> ) when she had heard news of the inslaved elves of Mirkwood. The chief of Régan, Rigo, Had lost too many elves in a war against the orcs and could not send any to Rivendell. So Ivy went alone.

I, Lady Ivy, Nala, and Zwiveleire might not be enough warriors to assail Mirkwood, however secrecy in numbers is a good battle tactic. I will leave it up to you to decide noble warriors.

Kaya, elf-lady, former scout and messenger of the King of Mirkwood (but banished because some unorthodox actions), excellent archer and swordswoman and back home known as the green-eyed artful archer (but is a lot friendlier than the sound of that nickname), had been sound asleep when the scream of an eagle woke her. Immediately she saw it was one of the King's eagles, bearer of an envelope addressed to her, Kaya de Danán, sealed by the mark of Mirkwood's King. She quickly opened it with the point of her dagger. Inside there was a letter, clearly written with haste.
It said :

Kaya,

Little time remains me to write this message, and I hope it reaches you in time.
At this moment, my, and I have little doubts that in your heart also your, beloved Mirkwood, is under the attack of an enemy with great strength and no compassion. It is not clear who he is, nor what he wants or how many we're up against, but at this time they appear to be superior.
I know our last words have been spoken in anger, and I have no doubt that you have a grudge against me for the punishment I gave you. But besides a strict, I am also a forgiving King. And for forgiveness, it is never too late. I hope we can agree on that one.
Your love for Mirkwood and its inhabitants was great in former days, and I belief blood is thicker than water. Mirkwood needs you, Kaya.

Thandruil,
King of Mirkwood

She wisthled once, loud and clear, and a grey horse came walking along.
"Arhísië, my loyal companion, it seems we have a great and dangerous adventure ahead. Mirkwood needs our assistance. What do you say?"
The horse whinnied and nudged his soft snout against her shoulder.
"I knew you would agree" she smiled.
She packed only the things she needed, and as she didn't have much properties, she had little things to leave behind.
When she had packed all her gear, she jumped on Arhísië's back and spurred him. So they drove into the night, in the direction of Rivendel, as it was the only place she knew where she could get help.

They drove with great haste and little pauses, and still it took them three days to get there.
It was at the crack of dawn, streaks of haze covered the trees and when she arrived at Rivendel and looked back, she saw it as fluffy cover.

A lonely man stood on the large balcony, where once the council of Elrond had taken place. It was Aventh, and she was afraid that he would send her away, as he knew she had a bad record.
She jumped of her horse and walked towards him, and kneeled before him.
"Aventh, great leader, I know you are surprised to see me here, and I know you'll be even more surprised when I tell you my motives, but I am here as a messenger of King Thranduil of Mirkwood".
Kaya looked up to him, waiting what he would say to her.

(I started here by using the name Thára, but it seemed to be confusing for the others so I changed it to my own nickname. So if you find a reference to Thára in this thread, it's actually me)

We must leave now if we are to reach Fangorn in two weeks. The passage over the Misty Mountains will be difficult, and we may have to go through Moria. We leave tonight!

We leave now.

After a few days of traveling the land the fellowship came across the base of the Misty Mountains. "What do we do?" asked Aventhor. [She blinked and tried to stretch, but realized, with a shock of fright, that she had no room. She was bound up tight, and if her keen sense of smell could be trusted -- and it always could -- she had been bundled up into someone's luggage. Again! One minute on the floor of the pub in dozy bliss, and the next sent unwilling on a quest as part of some Great Warrior's clothing-bundle.
This time, she was sure she could convince the warrior there had been a mistake. She wriggled with all her might, in the hope that whoever owned these clothes -- who hadn't had a chance to get his laundry done in a good long while, she guessed -- would pull his horse to a stop and investigate. As tightly crowded as she was, she managed to get a breath and cry:]
STOP!
[Her capacity for originality ran a little short in situations like this. Just as soon as the predictable word was out of her mouth, the previous night's half-dozen pints collectively battered her over the head.)
There's been a mistake. I am not the sort of creature one wants on such quests as these. Not that I'm a coward; far from it. I may be small, but I have the keenest of senses and the lightest of feet and can think my way out of any dangerous situation. In fact, I've often thought of going on a quest, for I feel sure I would enjoy it, given the right circumstances. But these are not the right circumstances, you see, I haven't prepared! A journey like this takes months of preparation. You have to be sure you've brought along all the necessary indispensibles, pardon the redundancy, but even more important there's the MENTAL preparation that goes in to such things as this. I'm not ready. This is really a little prank, that's all, some friends of mine whom I'm going to beat into wood-chips when I find them decided I was due for an adventure, but -- kind sirs and ladies -- I would very much appreciate it if someone would turn round and take me back.
[She disliked it very much when people looked at her as if she were out of her senses. She disliked it even more when she could tell from their eyes that she wasn't going to get her way.]
You're going WHERE?!?!
She turns and looks at the girl, laughter in her eyes
Well Hello there! My companions and I travel through Moria, on our way to Mirkwood.
How was it you came to be there? I know that none of us here would keep you against your will.

[Aurabella liked the sympathetic look in Lady Ivy's eyes. This lady looked as Aurabella herself always looked in her fantasies -- fair, slender, and, of course, several feet taller than the real-life Aurabella. This sort of person was MEANT to go on quests.]
Well, you see... [She cleared her throat and flushed deep red.] The truth is I have no idea how I got here. I was [ashamed sigh] asleep. You see, Marigold Burrows and Lucina Goodbody are always teasing me about how I can't hold my ale, and it's nothing less than a matter of pride for me to try to prove them wrong. And I went a little too far. Most of my acquaintances say that about me: She's always so easily distracted, she's always going too far. They call me a flibbertigibbet, but someday they'll realize the extent of my brilliance, I'll astound them all...
So, what's Moria like?

What is Moria like? I would not like to discourage you. let me just say that it is very dangerous and there are many unplesant things to see along the way.
We would be happy to have you join us. It seems a hobbit has joined our fellowship. I will not lie to you Aurabella, the trip through Moria will not be pleasant. There are things in there that you might only see in nightmares. But where are my manners. I am frightening you young hobbit before you even know my name. I am Aventhor of hte last homely house, lord of Rivendell. I am the leader of this fellowship. I am afraid that we cannot take you back. We are on an urgent quest and time is of the utmost. You can go with us to Mirkwood and fight for freedom or find your way back to the shire. The choice is yours Aurabella.
