The Blue Dragon Inn

Pull out your pack and head on down to the Prancing Pony for some great Role Playing (try to stay in character)!

Postby Gilvala » Thu Jun 20, 2002 11:15 pm

Welcome, friends! Suilad! Mae Govannen! (Anyone else want to put in a couple more greetings?) Are there any willing barmaids out there? Since the generally accepted closure of the Green Dragon Inn, the Blue Dragon Inn has been set up as a haven to all weary travellers.

Since the last battle, all the barmaids and everyone else in the inn seem to have disappeared

Rain poured perpetually from the sky, drenching nearly everyone who came into the Blue Dragon Inn. "Why is is ALWAYS raining aroud here?" thought Gilvala petulantly. She folded her black cloak around her and sat down, wondering if anyone would ever return to the Inn. As it stopped raining periodically, fog set in around the inn, casting a gloomy mood over the place. "I hope that someone will come soon," she thought depressedly, "It gets really boring in here all by myself..."

edit: this place is under a rehaul so please post in the OOC thread to find out what's going on

Twilight glared at the impudence of the owner. For a while she decided to help out as a barmaid. Since no one was there, she sat on the counter drining some Ale. She wore a sleveless, white shirt, with riding pants. Underneath her pants were knee-high riding boots. She re-tied the apron that she ever-so-hated. You're not going to get any customers by talking to nobody. SHe said. She jumped behind the counters, and brought out a fiddle. She played a merry tune on it, a common jig called 'Wandering In and Out'.
Oh, I'm wanderin' in' n' out,
Jumpin' all about,
No place to stay,
Come here barmaid,
And get some o'
That tart Ale
Got no place to stay,
I'm ne'er on me way,
I'm just a poor travelin' bag,
But I look worse than o' hag!
Comin' from the rain,
Blisterin' from the sun,
But oh ho! I nice ole inn,
That I cannot refrain!

A pretty elf in a blue cloak appeared at the door. Her face was covered by shadow, but as she stepped inside she shook her head and the cloak hood fell down. They were looking at Laivine, or who some people called Laebeth. She had long dark brown hair with a slight reddish tint, and her eyes changed from Hazel to Brown as the day grew old.
Mae govannen. I am Laivine. I am looking for a job as barmaid. Is the owner here? I have experience.
She stopped, and looked at Gilvala expectantly. Seeing no reaction, she waved her hand, and a scroll appeared in it.
My resume. She stated calmly. As well as a barmaid, I also have experience as a trained warrior, should any trouble befell the inn.

Hmmph. I could use some help. Nice to see a fellow barmaid/warrior/wanderer in here. I'm all three. I'm just here to get some extra money. And I've always wondered what it was like. Sure. Said Twilight, putting down her fiddle.

Laivine smiled at the barmaid, and joined her behind the bar.
Thanks. She said.
So, you're only in it for the money, huh? Lai asked. Twilight nodded and Lai smiled.
I guess I am now too. I worked as barmaid in lots of places, but I move round loads. I generally find it boring staying with the same crowd for too long a time. There're always some people I like, then some losers come in and hijack the party. She rolled her eyes. But maybe it'll be different here. It's quiet, at least it is now. But I originally started... to make friends, get to know people, stuff like that. Money, of course, is nice, and an added bonus, but I enjoy my job. Sometimes I only stay 'til I get enough money to move again, sometimes not. It's great travelling - you find out loads of things, and generally become very learned. But I usually feel so restless always in one place!
She sighed, and silence fell. After a while, Lai felt thirsty, and found a glass in one of the cupboards. She picked up a bottles of spirits, and started twirling them and mixing them expertly, Cyote Ugly style.
Want one? She asked.

Keeper walked in glade to see two faces she knew. Pulling her golden hair from her hood and drapped her cloak over a chair. placing her sword next to it with her bow. her dress today was made of all black with silver flowers stiched around the hem, the top was sleve less and the back of it was opened . Her eyes seemed a morer clouded blue today then nomal and her skin seemed alittle darker.

WEll how goes all here. I will be needing a room for only one night tonight. And don't think for one second i'm going to put on an appron and be a barmaid. I'm a maiden of the sword, knight, sorceress, elven, ranger of ithil, gondor, and the north. I'll help out waichressing when thingsget buissy but i will not get behind a bar again.

Lai smiled when she saw Keeper walk in, but found herself stuggling to hold back laughter as she made her little speech. With mock courteousy, she took a key from behind her, and gave it to Keeper.
Here you go ma'am. Best room in the house. I hope it'll serve. Can I get you a drink with that?

Twilight, getting quite irritated, went in front of her and slammed down her fist. You think I wanna be back here? I'm a born warrior, of the Durkhelex line. Most people, especially citzens of Imladris, Lothlorien, and Mirkwood know me as Twilight the Outcast. Why? Cause I'm an Outcast, accused of murdering Arwen Evenstar. I'm back here getting the pay I can so I can go off and try to buy something at someplace, rather than be the one behind the bars. I've been BANNED!!!!! From IMLADRIS!! I may seem a little touchy right now but this is no exception. Come in this bar, have a good time, and unpack your stuff in Room 91, bottom floor!

Twilight turned to Lai. I've just happened to learn a new song from the Shire, and a few other places I've gotten some new ones. Do you think I should play something? Entertain the few guest we already have? Anyways, what? A jig? Sea Chantey? Whatever? Do you know a song you think I should play? What is it? Twilight rained on the questions. She stopped, looked a Lai's puzzled face, and laughed heartily. Well, yon elf looked like thee; confused. Basically I'm asking wether I should play or not. When Lai said yes, she picked up her fiddle, and once again got on the other side.

Oh with the merriness on hand,
Who knows when this joy will end?
Jumping like Shirebabes,
We're in a craze,

Leap twice left,
Turn 'round right,
Leg behind other,
Bow 'n look up to the night!

Turn round wit partner,
May lady go under,
Now turn 'round left,
Right!
Come on an' come in we gonna dance all night!
Hey!

Spin round till half ways,
Now spin round till right,
Tarry to the left,
We gon dance all night!
Tarry for'ard,
Now tarry till right,
We gon dance all night!

Twilight herself did these steps, and the tune was unbearably moving. Poppy looked around the comfortable little hobbit hole, room 4, top notch, bottom floor - it remided her of home. Home. she missed her house in Loamsdown, her mother and her father, her animals that she would usually be checking on at this time of the morning (for it was already 4:00 a.m.) why had she come all the way here to look for a job?

She sighed and hung her cloak on the hook. home seemed so far away right now, but all she wanted to do at the moment was sleep...

Suddenly there came a knock on the door and Twilight (?)stepped in the room with a plate of poppyseed muffins and a tall mug of steaming hot chocolate. Poppy's stomach suddenly rumbled, she hadn't eaten for so long that she had forgotten to be hungry.

"ere ye go, marm" she smiled and placed the plate on the stool next to the bed.
as she was leaving, she turned in the doorway. "Might i enquire, miss... what exarctly are ye doin' here so far from ye' home town?"
Poppy pulled off her boots and placed them next to the embers of the fire to dry out.
"I'm looking for a job, Miss."
Twighlight chuckled. "Well, ye come to the right place. the old innkeeper is lookin' for more jobs 'ere. but don't ye fret jerst now. get some good nights rest."
and with that she slammed the door shut, leaving poppy in peace.

-pippin's girl

It was early in the morning, and although Lai hadn't got to sleep until some unearthly hour, she was still in the kitchen preparing breakfast for when the guests woke up.
Now let me see... Walking into the kichen keeper strecked her arms her hair neatly tided back into a braid and her alfitt was simple to day. A white tank top with denim jeans.
