Mith stared into the open blue void that was the sea. An old evil was coming back to middle earth, Khamul, second in comand of the Ringwraiths, lord of Dol Guldor was back! He had been one of the Blue Wizards who came 3rd to Middle Earth and who wandered long in the East. He had been enslaved by sauron, but not decived. He had taken on the form of Morgul, but was not a slave of his ring. Now he was back in Mordor and trying to set himself up as a new dark lord. He had gone bad, but he was nonetheless a true Istari, so it would take another to defeat him. Mith was going to attempt to find his father, in Eressea or beyond. But first he needed some companions...

(Mith - I'll take it you're at the docks...)

Ráca was at a nearby Inn, stirring up trouble. She was in a mischevious mood, which always bodes ill for some Inn, House, or Market somewhere.
This time, it was an Inn, and she was having fun. It had all started rather simply - she had entered silently, and sat down at the bar. Unhooding herself, she removed her cloak to reveal to all and sundry her tattoo on her shoulder blade (she was wearing a 'shoulderless' bodice), which was the calling card of a Mercenary... it worked a treat. A large, heavyset man approached her, tapping her roughtly on her other shoulder until she turned around.

Yes?

"Are you one of... them?"

You mean a Mercenary? Why - yes, I am. Anything else?

He should have known, really... the wicked, triumphant gleam in her eye told it all... but he wasn't all that sober, and frankly she was surprised that he could remember how to breathe, let alone walk and talk. His gaze hardened, and he whipped out a blade - the edge of which snagged on his jacket, giving Ráca time to step away, and taunt him.

Useless... can't even draw a knife properly! Elbereth, give me patience for first-time brawlers...

"You little..."

He had thrown his blade away, and was coming at her with his full (and considerable) body weight instead... she grinned, and made several incredibly rude gestures. This angered him - he bellowed like a heifer in pain, and charged at her - she vaulted over him, taking the time to smash his rather considerable forehead into the top of a table as she did so. He turned, just in time to see her move outside - she prefered street fights.

Looking around, she saw Mithrandir - starting, she wondered vaguely what he was doing... he was gazing out to sea - he had NEVER done that before - not ever, even when they had been travelling together near the sea... if anything, he had expressly avoided looking in that direction... so what could be wrong?

She raised a fist as the drunk tried to attack her, landing a swift jab to his temple - he fell to the floor, unconscious - but she had never taken her eyes off Mith. Twirliung her cloak around her shoulders, she walked over to him, and laid a hand on his shoulder.
Mellonamin... what is wrong? You seem so... distant...
"Oh, hello ráca, having fun?" he grinned, not once taking his eyes away from the sea. "I seem to be in need of some ... companions, if you will... on a little voyage i'm planning. Interested?"
He knew she would agree. She always did. He never caught her at a busy time. That made him think, why was she never busy? Maybe she just wasn't getting enough work, now that the darkness is gone. But he couldn't help thinking she liked it. She liked being able to join in with friends whenever she wished. Confusing!
He decided he would never understand ráca, but right now all he needed was a few friends...

Ráca nodded silently, and followed Mithrandir's gaze over the treacherous waters. Her mind whirred - he was generally beign very quiet, and as she looked at him, she could tell that his mind drifted much further afield than she had thought - his eyes were misty.

After a while, she touched him lightly on the arm, in a small attempt to bring him from his reverie.

Where would we be going, Mith? And what's wrong?

She guessed that there would be a boat journey involved, and was intrigued... though something bagged her at the back of her mind. She couldn't put a finger on it just yet, and so gave up - she returned to her former state of worrying about her friend.

*suddenly a loud crash is heard, followed by yelling. Then a huge muscle man runs out to the docks chasing Bethrael, a tall, eagle eyed, young man dressed in flowing robes and a cape. Suddenly Bethrael stops and glares into the man, who is yelling his brains out and waving a huge club. The man swings the club but Bethrael instantly dodges it and gives one fatal blow with his right fist into the man's stomach, a large glowing ball of light surrounds Bethrael's fist. Suddenly the man yells and flies off into the water. Bethrael picks up the club and eyes it with contentment, then throws it into the water. Brushing his robes off he reaches the two.*

Oh, greetings.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Sorry about that, I caught that man cheating someone in a card game. So I hear you're starting a quest here is it. That Ringwraith has returned?<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Mith stopped smilling. He did not like this cocky stranger, and was not in the mood for ale. "No, i would rather stay out here. To hear the crashing of the waves, the call of the gulls. Oh for the Sea!

Ai! Elbereth Eressea,
A malta oré dor,
yeni luin alaquande,
Ai Elbereth Valinor,
Olorin a Númen hwesta!
A luin! A luin! That's right, sorry.

Bethrael smiled again and patted his back as he chuckled. "If that's what you prefer my friend then I can't change your mind. And I'm so sorry for my rudeness, let me introduce myself. I am Bethrael, wizard of the heavens, weilder of the sword Threstel, and gatekeeper to the palace Nargen. I did wish to enact my just revenge upon the Ringwraith who so mercilessly brought trouble to my realm, but I seem to be disturbing you, and I've interrupted your meeting, should I leave you to your quest?" There was a certain calming presence in his superior voice and demeanor, but he looked highly trustworthy.

"Gate-keeper? You are a gate-keeper? Then why are you so fare from your gate, sir? I must enquire this because it makes me wonder what half wit must have taken your job, master cunning." Smirking, an elven woman stepped forth from a table close by. Tall and dark she was......but also hooded and cloaked so as not to be properly seen. Coming close to Mithrandir she bowed slightly.

"My Lord, I couldn't help but over hear your conversation with these two. May ask how do plan to convince your father to come and fight?" Seeing Mith's face and his aburt shock at the moment the woman paused and said, Oh! Do forgive me, my tongue always gets the better of me at times. Now I should introduce myself also. My name is Lissuin, Daughter of Ilmare. I am half Maia and half elf. For my father is Ellohir, Son of Elrond. Am of the line of Finwe and weilder of the sword, Dymer! Buuuuutttttt......you may call me Lissuin."

Turning Lissuin bowed to Raca......"Welcome Raca! I have been watching you for the past couple of days......may I say you have great talent! And you seem to be quite.....what's the word.....fiesty. I like that."

Bethrael smiled as he turned to face the woman who had proven such a point. He bowed his head toward the lady, then he chuckled and smacked his head, "I was going to tell you this anyway. I'm basically a spirit in another realm, Nargen is a mighty Angelic palace in the midst of another realm which I look after. For the present, I'm in the physical form in middle earth seeking the Ringwraith to punish him for his evil doings in my realm, though it is not neccesarily me who must punish himk, so long as someone punishes him, I'm satisfied. My captain, Gabriel, didn't find it quite neccesary for me to do such an act, he knew that you could problably take on him without my help, but I felt like watching over the quest, and coming and going as I pleased, helping you out when you needed it."
Bethrael got the feeling from the others that he was disturbing the band and should leave them to their business for the moment.
"I suppose I'm only depriving you of your valuable time on your quest and should leave you. I was never accepted into your band afterall so my apologies and farewell, that is if you would like me to accompany you on your quest. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't however, because most people in Middle Earth find me disturbing as well."
"My friend, do not leave! I am sorry to have been so rude. I would be glad for you to acompany us on this quest." he paused, thinking about what Lissuin had said, "You are half Maia you say, in the same way so am I. I am the son of Olorin, more commonly known as Gandalf. As for getting him to fight, he loves Arda, and im sure will be more than willing to help out."

Bethrael had summoned the heavens to bring him back to his realm just as Mithrandir spoke, and immediatly sent them back. He smiled intently and turned to the group with warm feelings. "It pleases me to hear someone in Middle Earth who wishes to have my company. Thank you my friend. I'll accompany you on this quest, and fight off evil to the bitter end and beyond."

Off the record guys, since I do not have too much time for role playing I'll try my best to do so. But if I'm needed to do something, just play me, do with me as you will.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

"Awe, it will be refreshing to accompany my kind now. And Mith, it is a pleasure i take not lightly to be in company with the son of Gandalf. Many years has it been since I last saw him.....you look some like him...but that is not the subject. We must first talk plans! Come tell me of your quest more in details!"

Phyrexian was walking along the sea front talking to her silver haired wolf, Phy herself was a 6'0" elf, she had silver, short hair and shimmering blue eyes. She was wearing all black, and a floor length black cloak with the hood up to hide her hair, across her back was her magical long sword.

Its not my fault we're here, its a job that I'm not going to do.

Phy saw the group standing around and looking at her very oddly not knowing that one of her powers was talking to animals, the other mind shielding. which she put up now. She then started listening to Serra again and stopped then turned to look at her.

Look I don't care if you like the forest better, its just you know we go where the job takes us.

She then laughed at her next comment, which was something to do with getting her feet wet, Phy went up to the group and asked them where the next boat was going to.

Behrael smiled at this woman's presence, taking delight in her demeanor. He took her gloved hand and kissed it. "Greetings my lady. Um...actually I don't know for sure but there is one departing in about 2 minutes for Gondor. If you wouldn't mind telling me where your heading, I can see when the next ship departs for your destination."

Mith gave a small, friendly tug on a strand of Bethrael's hair. Following the subsequent yelp, he whispered. "Whoa there big fella, you've only just met." The laughing that ensued from everyone there, inculding Bethrael was loud and long. Mith liked friends, so did anyone, but still friends were good people to have.

Bethrael's mystical smile grew larger as his large hand departed from the woman's soft leather gloved hand. "Isn't there anyone here who can inform her of the next departure? And might I inquire when we're going, and the details of our quest, or is that the fun of it, not knowing what lies ahead?" Behtrael pet the wolf's head as he spoke in his mystical happy voice, "My lady, if you're destination is to Eressea with us, then the ship leaves in a couple of hours."

Thanks a bunch.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

After Bethrael spoke, the captain of the frigate "Seangel", which had been docked in the blue water bay, it's sails ready to be opened out into the strong winds; had rung the ships bell, informing all passengers aboard immediatly. Bethrael turned back to the group and opened his arms wide, "Well, shall we go aboard my friends? I suppose if there are anymore willing to embark on our quest, they can meet us in Eressea." After Bethrael's cheerfull speach, the group followed to the wooden frigate. The gold lettering of the ship glimmered in the sunlight like pure gold itself, reflecting off the blue waters in a sparkling shine. Bethrael himself was looking much foward to having his meal, for he hadn't eaten in a day, due to his searching for the group. They could smell the freshly roasted turkey from the cook's hot oven already.
They all walked up the creaky plank leading up to the main deck, where the sailers were making ready for their arrival.
The entire group couldn't help but wonder why these sailers were beeing so punctual and respectful of them. They had put down a red carpet in front of their booted feet for them to walk upon, and slighty bowed down. Mithrandir almost asked what was going on until suddenly Bethrael yelled out in a happy surprised voice.
"Raphael my good friend!" Bethrael had run up to a young blonde haired man dressed in yellow robes who had been waiting for their arrival. Bethrael and Raphael hugged eachother as Bethrael continued to question, "What on Middle-Earth are you doing here?"
Raphael was far younger than Bethreal, he looked about 21 years old. Raphael spoke, "I wanted to see you all off, I'm afraid I have pressing business in the South and must return within the hour."
Bethrael didn't seem too pleased about this but then introduced Raphael to the fellowship, "My dear friends, this is Raphael. My most beloved friend in my realm."
First, Bethrael introduced Mithrandir, "Um...Raphael, this is Mithrandir, Son of Olorin." After these words exited Bethrael's mouth, Raphael's eyes opened wider than ever in shock, this was the son of Gandalf. Raphael shooks his hand again as he spoke.
"Your father is the great Gandalf. It is a great honor to meet you my friend." He then humbly bowed his head.
Bethrael then moved on to Raca, "This is Raca." He then moved to Lissulin, daughter of Illmare." Raphael shook both their hands with pleasure. His hands felt pure and cleaner than anything they had felt before. Finally, Bethrael moved to Phyrexsian. "And this is Phyrexsian." After shaking her hand, Raphael winked, then cuckled.

Bethrael turned back to Raphael and stated, "As you know we're on our way to Eressea. Mithrandir here is going to try and get his father, to help us."
Raphael snapped his fingers in dismay, "Blasted orc hides! I would have very much liked to have met him again. However my business in the South is far too important to be delayed."
It was obvious that Raphael had met the great Gandalf before.

I've just traveled from lands far west and am curious to hear of new in the South.....many a years it has been since I was in the Southern Realm's of Gonder and such places. Mordor is what concerns me most.....i've had dreams of late about it. Too many concerns......yes.....many.

Upon her face was a look of weariness and despair. She had been facing great problems of late and they all seemed connected with Mordor and the foul creatures that lived there once and now live there. Many an orc she had captured and wheedled by torment news of the new evil abroad.

Suddenly though she came out of her thoughts. Raphael merely smiled and started over again. "Word has arrived to me from my captain Gabriel, that a dragon Lord, known as Gorosh, has gathered an army of orcs and trolls, which has been raiding through the forests, burning the trees, slaughtering men and animals alike. Gorosh plans on building a fortress for himself there. But I'm now more curious about your far more important quest. What are the latest updates?" Asked Raphael as he looked back to Mithrandir.

Ráca was about to say something, when a bellow broke across the clearing. She closed her mouth, and her eyes turned a blazing shade of silver instantly - Mithrandir ushered everyone to move backwards a bit, understanding what was probably about to happen.

"Oi! yeah, you! You filthy little piece of dung!"

Ráca turned around, and took a step towards them - for 'them' it was - there was at least five of them. She placed a hand on her hip, and surveyed them critically... In reality, she was assessing their abilities, in case they attacked.

"Yeah - you killed my boss!"
Ráca raised an eyebrow."
Me? Why would I possibly hurt anyone?
They paused, and eyed each other uncertainly - then one spoke up.
"You probably kill loads of people - you're a thief!"
Ráca tutted, and raised an eyebrow.
Don't you ... recognise... me from anywhere?
"Well..."
I'll give you a clue...

Ráca grinned at Mithrandir, and he covered his ears - the others were too slow to follow suit. She threw back her head, and howled - a long, low, mournful sound ranging through a variety of moods and pitches.. the perfect Wolf howl - it was then that the other elves realised... 'Ráca' meant 'Wolf' in Elvish. The men that were planning to mob her paused, and quailed - recognition dawned upon their faces. Ráca stopped, and glared at them with her bright silver eyes.

Remember me now?
"The Wolf..."
Well done - the Mercenary, and frightful Murderess. Now, I have one more question...
"...yes?"
Why are you still here?

They took the hint, and all but three scattered. One of the 3 that stayed behind, however, attacked - he yelled something unintelligable, and charged - with a great show of skill, she stepped to one side and dropped to her feet - as he ran past, she brought up one leg with a resounding 'thud' into his chin - he dropped like a stone, unconscious. The second attacked, drawing a short sword - he didn't get even a foot closer to her before he dropped dead with a throwing blade between his eyes. The third didn't attack - he ran.
Satisfied, Ráca turned back to the others.

Where were we...?

After sight of this, all the shipmates and sailers backed away from the group in fear of the terrifying vision they had beheld.
Bethrael was impressed yet saddened at the same time. He took life and death seriously. Before he could speak Raphael ran past Raca and to the dead man, with grief in his eyes. He knelt down and shut the man's open eyes with his hand.
Bethrael patted Raca's back and said, "Don't take it personal Raca, we understand that he tried to kill you, but us beings of the spiritual realm are saddened to see corrupt souls go to their doom in hell. It's truly hardening to see how evil man can become."
Bethrael smiled and Raphael dried a tear from his cheek. He then tried to smile and turned back to the group. As the sailors carefully got the bodies off the deck, Raphael patted Raca's back and said.
"You did the right thing, don't be dismayed. Being warriors, we must deal with death. That's the way of it. Now then, I would still like to here the details of your quest my friends."

Mithrandir would habe obliged in telling this young fellow and was about to until Raphael interrupted, "Actually I'm sorry my friends but the sun is setting and your ship leaves in a few minutes so you must excuse me. It's been an honor."
"It's been an honor to meet you too Raphael." Said Mithrandir as he shook Raphael's hand.
"Give my regards to your father my friend. I wish happy moments and succesful conflicts to you on your noble quest my lord. Thank you." Stated Raphael just before he strode off the ship and to the busy harbour as his golden cape flowed behind him like the sail of a ship. The fellowship stood there for a moment, thinkinf of the mission and the friend they had just met, but their thoughts were broken when the delightful smell of dinner entered their nostils.
"Mmmmmmmm. Smell that?" Said Raca.
Bethrael chuckled, "Most certainly do. Shall we go to our quarters then attend our dinner. All those who do not feel like participating in the feast may remain in their rooms if they would like. Here are your keys." Said Bethrael as he handed each member a key to their cabins. He then smiled and briefly nodded his head, knowing that they should hurry.
